Abstract:Let X := {X(t)}(t >= 0) be a generalized fractional Brownian motion (GFBM) introduced by Pang and Taqqu [22]: {X(t)}(t >= 0) = (d) {integral(R)((t - u)(+)(alpha) - (-u)(+)(alpha)) vertical bar u vertical bar B-gamma(du)}(t >= 0), where gamma is an element of [0, 1/2) and alpha is an element of (-1/2+ gamma, 1/2 + gamma) are constants. Ichiba et al. [13] and Wang and Xiao [31] have studied some asymptotic and regularity properties of GFBM X. However, the problem of establishing the Chung-type law of the iterated logarithm of X at t = 0 was left open in Wang and Xiao [31]. In this paper, building upon the arguments of Talagrand [21], we establish integral criteria for the lower functions of X at t = 0 and at infinity. As a consequence of the integral criteria, we derive the Chung-type laws of the iterated logarithm of X at t = 0 and at infinity, respectively. (C) 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Abstract:The generalized fractional Brownian motion (GFBM) $$X:=\{X(t)\}_{t\ge 0}$$ with parameters $$\gamma \in [0, 1)$$ and $$\alpha \in \left( -\frac{1}{2}+\frac{\gamma }{2}, \, \frac{1}{2}+\frac{\gamma }{2} \right) $$ is a centered Gaussian H-self-similar process introduced by Pang and Taqqu (2019) as the scaling limit of power-law shot noise processes, where $$H = \alpha -\frac{\gamma }{2}+\frac{1}{2} \in (0,1)$$ . When $$\gamma = 0$$ , X is the ordinary fractional Brownian motion. When $$\gamma \in (0, 1)$$ , GFBM X does not have stationary increments, and its sample path properties such as Hölder continuity, path differentiability/non-differentiability, and the functional law of the iterated logarithm (LIL) have been investigated recently by Ichiba et al. (J Theoret Probab 10.1007/s10959-020-01066-1, 2021). They mainly focused on sample path properties that are described in terms of the self-similarity index H (e.g., LILs at infinity or at the origin). In this paper, we further study the sample path properties of GFBM X and establish the exact uniform modulus of continuity, small ball probabilities, and Chung’s laws of iterated logarithm at any fixed point $$t > 0$$ . Our results show that the local regularity properties away from the origin and fractal properties of GFBM X are determined by the index $$\alpha +\frac{1}{2}$$ instead of the self-similarity index H. This is in contrast with the properties of ordinary fractional Brownian motion whose local and asymptotic properties are determined by the single index H.

Abstract:Let $X:=\{X(t)\}_{t\ge0}$ be a generalized fractional Brownian motion: $$ \{X(t)\}_{t\ge0}\overset{d}{=}\left\{ \int_{\mathbb R} \left((t-u)_+^{\alpha}-(-u)_+^{\alpha} \right) |u|^{-\gamma/2} B(du) \right\}_{t\ge0}, $$ with parameters $\gamma \in (0, 1)$ and $\alpha\in \left(-1/2+ \gamma/2, \, 1/2+ \gamma/2 \right)$. This is a self-similar Gaussian process introduced by Pang and Taqqu (2019) as the scaling limit of power-law shot noise processes. The parameters $\alpha$ and $\gamma$ determine the probabilistic and statistical properties of $X$. In particular, the parameter $\gamma$ introduces non-stationarity of the increments. In this paper, we prove Strassen's local law of the iterated logarithm of $X$ at any fixed point $t_0 \in (0, \infty)$, which describes explicitly the roles played by the parameters $\alpha, \gamma$ and the location $t_0$. Our result is different from the previous Strassen's LIL for $X$ at infinity proved by Ichiba, Pang and Taqqu (2022).

Abstract:Since the classical work of Lévy, it is known that the local time of Brownian motion can be characterized through the limit of level crossings. While subsequent extensions of this characterization have primarily focused on Markovian or martingale settings, this work presents a highly anticipated extension to fractional Brownian motion -- a prominent non-Markovian and non-martingale process. Our result is viewed as a fractional analogue of Chacon et al. (1981). Consequently, it provides a global path-by-path construction of fractional Brownian local time. Due to the absence of conventional probabilistic tools in the fractional setting, our approach utilizes completely different argument with a flavor of the subadditive ergodic theorem, combined with the shifted stochastic sewing lemma recently obtained in Matsuda and Perkowski (22, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2206.01686" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2206.01686">arXiv:2206.01686</a>). Furthermore, we prove an almost-sure convergence of the (1/H)-th variation of fractional Brownian motion with the Hurst parameter H, along random partitions defined by level crossings, called Lebesgue partitions. This result raises an interesting conjecture on the limit, which seems to capture non-Markovian nature of fractional Brownian motion.

Abstract:We study analytically and numerically the fractional Langevin equation driven by the fractional Brownian motion. The fractional derivative is in Caputo’s sense and the fractional order in this paper is α = 2 − 2H, where H ∈ ($\tfrac{1}{2}$, 1) is the Hurst parameter (or, index). We give numerical schemes for the fractional Langevin equation with or without an external force. From the figures we can find that the mean square displacement of the fractional Langevin equation has the property of the anomalous diffusion. When the fractional order tends to an integer, the diffusion reduces to the normal diffusion.

Abstract:As a fuzzy counterpart of Brownian motion, Liu process has attracted more and more attention in the recent literature. In this paper, the concept of fractional Liu process is proposed as an extension of Liu process. Furthermore, we obtain the expressions of the membership functions, expected values and variances of arithmetic and geometric fractional Liu processes for each fixed time. As an application, geometric fractional Liu process is assumed to characterize the stock price, which formulates a new fuzzy stock model. Based on this proposed model, European option pricing formulas are gained and two numerical examples are given with different parameters.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to define and study a notion of fractional Brownian motion on a Lie group. We define it as at the solution of a stochastic differential equation driven by a linear fractional Brownian motion. We show that this process has stationary increments and satisfies a local self-similar property. Furthermore the Lie groups for which this self-similar property is global are characterized. Finally, we prove an integration by parts formula on the path group space and deduce the existence of a density.
