Abstract:We consider a certain left action by the monoid $SL_2(\mathbf{N}_0)$ on the set of divisor pairs $\mathcal{D}_f := \{ (m, n) \in \mathbf{N}_0 \times \mathbf{N}_0 : m \lvert f(n) \}$ where $f \in \mathbf{Z}[x]$ is a polynomial with integer coefficients. We classify all polynomials in $\mathbf{Z}[x]$ for which this action extends to an invertible map $\hat{F}_f: SL_2(\mathbf{N}_0) \rightarrow \mathcal{D}_f$. We call such polynomials $\textit{enumerable}$. One of these polynomials happens to be $f(n) = n^2 + 1$. It is a well-known conjecture that there exist infinitely many primes of the form $p = n^2 + 1$. We construct a sequence $\mathcal{S}$ on the naturals defined by the recursions

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to classify certain polynomials \( f \in \mathbb{Z}[x] \), whose divisors can be described by the monomorphism \( \text{SL}_2(\mathbb{N}_0) \). Specifically, the author studies which polynomials \( f \) can make the mapping \( \hat{F}_f \) from \( \text{SL}_2(\mathbb{N}_0) \) to the set of divisor pairs \( D_f \) a bijection, and this mapping also satisfies certain equivariant properties. In addition, the paper also explores the properties of these polynomials, especially their relationship with prime number generation. ### Specific Problem Description 1. **Classification Problem**: Determine all polynomials \( f \in \mathbb{Z}[x] \) such that there exists a bijective and equivariant mapping \( \hat{F}_f: \text{SL}_2(\mathbb{N}_0) \to D_f \). 2. **Equivariant Properties**: Study the equivariant properties of these mappings \( \hat{F}_f \), that is, how these mappings remain invariant under the action of \( \text{SL}_2(\mathbb{N}_0) \). 3. **Properties of Polynomials**: Explore the properties of these polynomials \( f \), especially their relationship with prime number generation, for example, whether \( f(n)=n^2 + 1 \) can generate infinitely many prime numbers. ### Main Contributions of the Paper 1. **Classification Theorem**: It is proved that all enumerable polynomials \( f \) must belong to the set \( \{\phi_0, \phi_1, \psi_2, \phi_3\} \), where: - \( \phi_0(n)=n^2 + 1 \) - \( \phi_1(n)=n^2 + n + 1 \) - \( \psi_2(n)=n^2 + 2n - 1 \) - \( \phi_3(n)=n^2 + 3n + 1 \) 2. **Equivariant Mappings**: Construct the equivariant mappings \( \hat{F}_f \) corresponding to these polynomials and prove the properties of these mappings. 3. **Applications**: Through specific examples, show how to use these mappings to generate and analyze the divisor structure of polynomials, especially problems related to prime number generation. ### Conclusion Through strict mathematical proofs, the paper classifies all polynomials that can be enumerated by \( \text{SL}_2(\mathbb{N}_0) \) and provides detailed properties and applications of these polynomials. These results are not only of great theoretical significance, but also provide new tools and methods for further research on the divisor structure of polynomials and prime number generation.
