On the pre-commutative envelopes of commutative algebras

Abstract:We prove that every nilpotent commutative algebra can be embedded into a pre-commutative (Zinbiel) algebra with respect to the anti-commutator operation. For finite-dimensional algebras, the nilpotency condition is necessary for a commutative algebra to have a pre-commutative envelope.

Abstract:We show that a $PL_{\infty}$-algebra $V$ can be described by a nilpotent coderivation of degree $-1$ on coalgebra $P^*V$. Based on this result, we can generalise the result of T. Lada and show that every $A_{\infty}$-algebra carries a $PL_{\infty}$-algebra structure and every $PL_{\infty}$-algebra carries an $L_{\infty}$-algebra structure. In particular, we obtain a pre Lie $n$-algebra structure on an arbitrary partially associative $n$-algebra and deduce pre Lie $n$-algebras are $n$-Lie admissible.

Abstract:Let $L$ and $H$ be finite-dimensional restricted Lie algebras over a perfect field $\F$ such that $u(L)\cong u(H)$, where $u(L)$ is the restricted enveloping algebra of $L$. We prove that if $L$ is $p$-nilpotent and abelian, then $L\cong H$. We deduce that if $L$ is abelian and $\F$ is algebraically closed, then $L\cong H$. We use these results to prove the main result of this paper stating that if $L$ is $p$-nilpotent, then $L/L'^p+\gamma_3(L)\cong H/H'^p+\gamma_3(H)$.

On monomial algebras with representation-finite enveloping algebras

Abstract:The present paper mainly considers the representation type of the enveloping algebra of monomial algebra. Let $A$ be a monomial algebra and $A^e= A\otimes_{\mathrm{l}\!\mathrm{k}} A^{\mathrm{op}}$ its enveloping algebra. It is shown that $A^e$ is representation-finite if and only if $A \cong \pmb{A}_n/\mathrm{rad}^2 \pmb{A}_n$, where $\pmb{A}_n$ is the path algebra $\mathrm{l}\!\mathrm{k}\mathcal{Q}$ with $\mathcal{Q} = 1 \longrightarrow 2 \longrightarrow \cdots \longrightarrow n$. Moreover, we show that the number of all isoclasses of indecomposable $(\pmb{A}_n/ \mathrm{rad}^2\pmb{A}_n)^e$-modules is $\frac{4}{3}n^3 + n^2-\frac{7}{3}n+1$, and classify all indecomposable modules over $(\pmb{A}_n/ \mathrm{rad}^2\pmb{A}_n)^e$. Finally, the Clebsch-Gordon problem over $(\pmb{A}_n/ \mathrm{rad}^2\pmb{A}_n)^e$ is studied.

Abstract:Let $\Bbbk$ be a field of characteristic zero. Motivated by the fundamental question of whether it is possible for the universal enveloping algebra of an infinite-dimensional Lie algebra to be noetherian, we study Lie algebras of derivations of associative algebras. The main result of this paper is that the universal enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra of derivations of a finitely generated $\Bbbk$-algebra is not noetherian. This extends a result of Sierra and Walton on the Witt algebra, as well as a result of the second author on Krichever-Novikov algebras. We highlight that the result applies to derivations of both commutative and noncommutative algebras without restriction on their growth.

Envelopes in the class of Banach algebras of polynomial growth and $C^\infty$-functions of a finite number of free variables

Abstract:We introduce the notion of envelope of a topological algebra (in particular, an arbitrary associative algebra) with respect to a class of Banach algebras. In the case of the class of real Banach algebras of polynomial growth, i.e., admitting a $C^\infty$-functional calculus for every element, we get a functor that maps the algebra of polynomials in $k$ variables to the algebra of $C^\infty$-functions on $\R^k$. The envelope of a general commutative or non-commutative algebra can be treated as an algebra of $C^\infty$-functions on some commutative or non-commutative space. In particular, we describe the envelopes of the universal enveloping algebra of finite-dimensional Lie algebras, the coordinate algebras of the quantum plane and quantum $SL(2)$ and also look at some commutative examples. A result on algebras of `free $C^\infty$-functions', i.e., the envelopes of free associative algebras of finite rank $k$, is announced for general $k$ and proved for $k\le 2$.

Abstract:We consider algebras embeddable into free bicommutative algebras with respect to commutator and anti-commutator products over a field of characteristic zero. We show that every metabelian Lie algebra can be embedded into a bicommutative algebra with respect to the commutator product. Furthermore, we prove that the class of commutative algebras embeddable into bicommutative algebras with respect to the anti-commutator product forms a variety. As a consequence, we obtain that every metabelian Lie algebra can be embedded into a Novikov algebra with respect to the commutator product.

Abstract:A Com-PreLie bialgebra is a commutative bialgebra with an extra preLie product satisfying some compatibilities with the product and the coproduct. We here give examples of cofree Com-PreLie bialgebras, including all the ones such that the preLie product is homogeneous of degree $\ge$ --1. We also give a graphical description of free unitary Com-PreLie algebras, explicit their canonical bialgebra structure and exhibit with the help of a rigidity theorem certain cofree quotients, including the Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra of rooted trees. We finally prove that the dual of these bialgebras are also enveloping algebras of preLie algebras, combinatorially described.

Abstract:We show that for a given nilpotent Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ with $Z(\mathfrak{g})\subseteq [\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{g}]$ all commutative post-Lie algebra structures, or CPA-structures, on $\mathfrak{g}$ are complete. This means that all left and all right multiplication operators in the algebra are nilpotent. Then we study CPA-structures on free-nilpotent Lie algebras $F_{g,c}$ and discover a strong relationship to solving systems of linear equations of type $[x,u]+[y,v]=0$ for generator pairs $x,y\in F_{g,c}$. We use results of Remeslennikov and Stöhr concerning these equations to prove that, for certain $g$ and $c$, the free-nilpotent Lie algebra $F_{g,c}$ has only central CPA-structures.

Abstract:In the study of pre-Lie algebras, the concept of pre-morphism arises naturally as a generalization of the standard notion of morphism. Pre-morphisms can be defined for arbitrary (not-necessarily associative) algebras over any commutative ring $k$ with identity, and can be dualized in various ways to generalized morphisms (related to pre-Jordan algebras) and anti-pre-morphisms (related to anti-pre-Lie algebras). We consider idempotent pre-endomorphisms (generalized endomorphisms, anti-pre-endomorphisms). Idempotent pre-endomorphisms are related to semidirect-product decompositions of the sub-adjacent anticommutative algebra.

Abstract:Let CF(ObjA) denote the vector space of Q-valued constructible functions on a given stack ObjA for an exact category A. By using the Ringel– Hall algebra approach, Joyce proved that CF(ObjA) is an associative Qalgebra via the convolution multiplication and the subspace CFind(ObjA) of constructible functions supported on indecomposables is a Lie subalgebra of CF(ObjA) in [10]. In this paper, we show that there is a subalgebra CFKS(ObjA) of CF(ObjA) isomorphic to the universal enveloping algebra of CFind(ObjA). Moreover we construct a comultiplication on CFKS(ObjA) and a degenerate form of Green’s theorem. This generalizes Joyce’s work, as well as results of [3].
Two problems in the representation theory of reduced enveloping algebras

Abstract:In this paper we consider two problems relating to the representation theory of Lie algebras ${\mathfrak g}$ of reductive algebraic groups $G$ over algebraically closed fields ${\mathbb K}$ of positive characteristic $p>0$. First, we consider the tensor product of two baby Verma modules $Z_{\chi}(\lambda)\otimes Z_{\chi'}(\mu)$ and show that it has a filtration of baby Verma modules of a particular form. Secondly, we consider the minimal-dimension representations of a reduced enveloping algebra $U_\chi({\mathfrak g})$ for a nilpotent $\chi\in{\mathfrak g}^{*}$. We show that under certain assumptions in type $A$ we can obtain the minimal-dimensional modules as quotients of certain modules obtained by base change from simple highest weight modules over ${\mathbb C}$.

Abstract:Throughout the current paper, we extend the study of Zinbiel algebras to Zinbiel superalgebras. In particular, we show that all the Zinbiel superalgebras over an arbitrary field are nilpotent in the same way as occurs for Zinbiel algebras. Moreover and since the most important cases of nilpotent algebras or superalgebras are those with maximal nilpotency index, we study the complex null-filiform Zinbiel superalgebra, i.e. the only one single generated, proving that is unique up to isomorphism. After that, we characterise the naturally graded filiform ones and obtain low-dimensional classifications.

Abstract:In this article, the two-parameter quantum Heisenberg enveloping algebra, which serves as a model for certain quantum generalized Heisenberg algebras, have been studied at roots of unity. In this context, the quantum Heisenberg enveloping algebra becomes a polynomial identity algebra, and the dimension of simple modules is bounded by its PI degree. The PI degree, center, and complete classification of simple modules up to isomorphism are explicitly presented. We work over a field of arbitrary characteristic, although our results concerning the representations require that it is algebraically closed.

Abstract:We study the quotient Qi(A) of a free algebra A by the ideal Mi(A) generated by the ith commutator of any elements. In particular, we completely describe such quotient for i=4 (for i⩽3 this was done previously by Feigin and Shoikhet). We also study properties of the ideals Mi(A), e.g. when Mi(A)Mj(A) is contained in Mi+j−1(A) (by a result of Gupta and Levin, it is always contained in Mi+j−2(A)).

Abstract:This paper starts by showing that for algebras in a certain class the concepts of weak nilpotency and nilpotency coincide. It goes on to describe some solvability and nilpotency properties of bicommutative algebras, of assosymmetric and of Novikov algebras and to introduce a Frattini theory for all of them. A description is also given for semisimple bicommutative algebras over any field.
