Abstract:We study the problem of finding complete conformal metrics determined by some symmetric function of the modified Schouten tensor on compact manifolds with boundary; which reduces to a Dirichlet problem. We prove the existence of the solution under some suitable conditions. In particular, we prove that every smooth compact n-dimensional manifold with boundary, with n >= 3, admits a complete Riemannian metric g whose Ricci curvature Ric(g) and scalar curvature R-g satisfydet(Ric(g) - R(g)g) = const.This result generalizes Aviles and McOwen's in the scalar curvature case.

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence of closed convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space Rn+1 such that a Weingarten curvature, regarded as a function of their unit normal, is equal to a given positive function on the unit sphere Sn. Two classical problems of this type, namely the Christoffel problem [6] and the Minkowski problem [16], which address respectively the cases of harmonic and Gauss curvature, were completely solved in the 1970’s [7,9,17]. Besides the harmonic and Gauss curvatures, the most interesting Weingarten curvatures are probably the mean curvature, or more generally the k-curvatures (1 ≤ k ≤ n)

Abstract:In this paper, we use Aleksandrov's reflection principle to prove symmetry of solutions to F(∇Sn2u+uI)=f(u,u2+|∇Snu|2), where u is the support function of a convex body, and F is a function of principal radii. As a corollary, alongside [Ivaki, arXiv:2307.06252], we provide an alternative proof of the uniqueness of solution to the isotropic Gaussian-Minkowski problem.

Abstract:We derive interior curvature bounds for admissible solutions of a class of curvature equations subject to affine Dirichlet data, generalizing a well-known estimate of Pogorelov for equations of Monge-Ampere type. For equations for which convexity of the solution is the natural ellipticity assumption, the curvature bound is proved for solutions with C-1,C-1 Dirichlet data. We also use the curvature bounds to improve and extend various existence results for the Dirichlet and Plateau problems.

Firstly we introduce the solutions of inhomogeneous polyanalytic equation in upper half plane. Then we investigate the properties of relevant integral operators. Lastly we transform the Dirichlet problem for nonlinear higher-order equations in upper half plane into the system of integro-differential equations and we obtain the existence of unique solution using Banach fixed point theorem.

Abstract:We study the Dirichlet problem of a class of fully nonlinear elliptic equations on Hermitian manifolds and derive a priori $C^2$ estimates which depend on the initial data on manifolds, the admissible subsolutions and the upper bound of the gradients of the solutions. In some special cases, we obtain the gradient estimates, and hence we can solve the corresponding Dirichlet problem with admissible subsolutions. We also study the Hessian quotient equations and $(m-1,m-1)$-Hessian quotient equations on compact Hermitian manifolds without boundary.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of nonlinear elliptic equations in the Krylov type, which can be viewed as a generalization of the Hessian equation for Schouten tensor. After a conformal change, we considered the Dirichlet problem for a modified Schouten tensor in the smooth closed Riemannian manifold with smooth boundary. A unique k -admissible solution can be assured under some suitable settings.

Abstract:We show that a very general hypersurface of degree d at least 4 and dimension at most $(d+1)2^{d-4}$ over a field of characteristic different from 2 does not admit a decomposition of the diagonal; hence, it is neither stably nor retract rational, nor $\mathbb{A}^1$-connected. Similar results hold in characteristic 2 under a slightly weaker degree bound. This improves earlier results by the second named author and Moe.

Abstract:We show that every regular domain $\mathcal D$ in Minkowski space $\mathbb R^{n,1}$ which is not a wedge admits an entire hypersurface whose domain of dependence is $\mathcal D$ and whose scalar curvature is a prescribed constant (or function, under suitable hypotheses) in $(-\infty,0)$. Under rather general assumptions, these hypersurfaces are unique and provide foliations of $\mathcal D$. As an application, we show that every maximal globally hyperbolic Cauchy compact flat spacetime admits a foliation by hypersurfaces of constant scalar curvature, generalizing to any dimension previous results of Barbot-Béguin-Zeghib (for $n=2$) and Smith (for $n=3$).

Abstract:Let k be a perfect field and let GW ( k ) be the Grothendieck-Witt ring of (virtual) non-degenerate symmetric bilinear forms over k. We develop methods for computing the quadratic Euler characteristic χ ( X / k ) ∈ GW ( k ) for X a smooth hypersurface in a projective space and in a weighted projective space. We raise the question of a quadratic refinement of classical conductor formulas and find such a formula for the degeneration of a smooth hypersurface X in P n + 1 to the cone over a smooth hyperplane section of X; we also find a similar formula in the weighted homogeneous case. We formulate a conjecture for similar types of degenerations, and we interpret the quadratic conductor formulas in terms of Ayoub's motivic nearby cycles functor.

Abstract:We prove three results in this paper: First, we prove, for a wide class of functions phi is an element of C2(Sn-1) and psi(X, nu) is an element of C2(Rn+1 x Hn), there exists a unique, entire, strictly convex, spacelike hypersurface Mu satisfying sigma k(kappa[Mu]) = psi(X, nu) and u(x) -> |x| + phi(x/|x|) as |x| -> infinity. Second, when k = n-1, n-2, we show the existence and uniqueness of an entire, k -convex, spacelike hypersurface Mu satisfying sigma k(kappa[Mu]) = psi(x, u(x)) and u(x) -> |x| + phi(x/|x|) as |x| -> infinity. Last, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of entire, strictly convex, downward translating solitons Mu with prescribed asymptotic behavior at infinity for sigma k curvature flow equations. Moreover, we prove that the downward translating solitons Mu have bounded principal curvatures.
