Abstract:Let $X$ be an arbitrary poset and $K$ an arbitrary field. We describe linear unital invertibility preservers of the finitary incidence algebra $FI(X,K)$ in terms of certain maps of the power set algebra $\mathcal{P}(X)$ and linear maps $FI(X,K)\to J(FI(X,K))$.

Abstract:Let $FI(X,K)$ be the finitary incidence algebra of a poset $X$ over a field $K$. In this short note we establish when $FI(X,K)$ satisfies a polynomial identity and when its group of units $\mathcal{U}(FI(X,K))$ satisfies a group identity. The Lie derived length of $FI(X,K)$ and the derived length of $\mathcal{U}(FI(X,K))$ are also determined.

Abstract:Let H be a finite dimensional Hopf algebra and A be an algebra over a fixed field k. Firstly, it is proved that the left FP-projective dimension is invariant under cleft extensions when H is semisimple and A is left coherent. Secondly, using (co)induction functors, we study the relations between FP-projective dimensions in A#H-Mod and the counterparts in A(H)-Mod. Finally, we characterize the FP-projective preenvelopes (resp., precovers) under H*-extensions and cleft extensions, respectively.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a topologically stratified space, $p$ be any perversity on $X$, and $k$ be a field. We show that the category of $p$-perverse sheaves on $X$, constructible with respect to the stratification and with coefficients in $k$, is equivalent to the category of finite-dimensional modules over a finite-dimensional algebra if and only if $X$ has finitely many strata and the same holds for the category of local systems on each of these. The main component in the proof is a construction of projective covers for simple perverse sheaves.

Abstract:We establish a formalism for working with incidence algebras of posets with symmetries, and we develop equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig-Stanley theory within this formalism. This gives a new way of thinking about the equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial and equivariant Z-polynomial of a matroid.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a finite connected poset, $K$ a field of characteristic zero and $I(X,K)$ the incidence algebra of $X$ over $K$ seen as a Lie algebra under the commutator product. In the first part of the paper we show that any $\frac{1}{2}$-derivation of $I(X,K)$ decomposes into the sum of a central-valued $\frac 12$-derivation, an inner $\frac{1}{2}$-derivation and a $\frac{1}{2}$-derivation associated with a map $\sigma:X^2_<\to K$ that is constant on chains and cycles in $X$. In the second part of the paper we use this result to prove that any transposed Poisson structure on $I(X,K)$ is the sum of a structure of Poisson type, a mutational structure and a structure determined by $\lambda:X^2_e\to K$, where $X^2_e$ is the set of $(x,y)\in X^2$ such that $x<y$ is a maximal chain not contained in a cycle.

Positivity preservers over finite fields

Abstract:We resolve an algebraic version of Schoenberg's celebrated theorem [Duke Math.J., 1942] characterizing entrywise matrix transforms that preserve positive definiteness. Compared to the classical real and complex settings, we consider matrices with entries in a finite field and obtain a complete characterization of such preservers for matrices of a fixed dimension. When the dimension of the matrices is at least $3$, we prove that, surprisingly, the positivity preservers are precisely the positive multiples of the field's automorphisms. We also obtain characterizations of preservers for matrices of dimension $2$ over a finite field with $q$ elements, unless $q \equiv 1 \pmod 4$ and $q$ is not a square. Our proofs build on several novel connections between positivity preservers and field automorphisms via the works of Weil, Carlitz, and Muzychuk-Kovács, and via the structure of cliques in Paley graphs.

Invariants under Stable Equivalences of Morita Type

Abstract:The aim of this article is to study some invariants of associative algebras under stable equivalences of Morita type. First of all, we show that, if two finite-dimensional self-injective k-algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type, then their orbit algebras are isomorphic. Secondly, it is verified that the quasitilted property of an algebra is invariant under stable equivalences of Morita type. As an application of this result, it is obtained that if an algebra is of finite representation type, then its tilted property is invariant under stable equivalences of Morita type; the other application to partial tilting modules is given in Section 4. Finally, we prove that when two finite-dimensional k-algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type, their repetitive algebras are also stably equivalent of Morita type under certain conditions.

Abstract:Let $I(X,R)$ be the incidence algebra of the preordered set $X$ over the ring $R$. In the case of a finite connected partially ordered set $X$, we prove that the subgroup of inner multiplicative automorphisms is a direct factor of the group of multiplicative automorphisms of the algebra $I(X,R)$. As a consequence, we obtain several matching criteria of the subgroup of inner multiplicative automorphisms with the group of multiplicative automorphisms.

$τ$-tilting finiteness and $\mathbf{g}$-tameness: Incidence algebras of posets and concealed algebras

Abstract:We prove that any $\tau$-tilting finite incidence algebra of a finite poset is representation-finite, and that any $\mathbf{g}$-tame incidence algebra of a finite simply connected poset is tame. As the converse of these assertions are known to hold, we obtain characterizations of $\tau$-tilting finite incidence algebras and $\mathbf{g}$-tame simply connected incidence algebras. Both results are proved using the theory of concealed algebras. The former will be deduced from the fact that tame concealed algebras are $\tau$-tilting infinite, and to prove the latter, we show that wild concealed algebras are not $\mathbf{g}$-tame. We conjecture that any incidence algebra of a finite poset is wild if and only if it is not $\mathbf{g}$-tame, and prove a result showing that there are relatively few possible counterexamples. In the appendix, we determine the representation type of a $\tau$-tilting reduction of a concealed algebra of hyperbolic type.

Abstract:Invertibility is important in ring theory because it enables division and facilitates solving equations. Moreover, (nonassociative) rings can be endowed with an extra ''structure'' such as order and topology allowing more richness in the theory. The two main theorems of this article are contributions to invertibility in the context of partially ordered nonassociative rings \textit{and} Hausdorff sequentially Cauchy-complete weak-quasi-topological nonassociative rings. Specifically, the first theorem asserts that the interval $]0,1]$ in any suitable partially ordered nonassociative ring consists entirely of invertible elements. The second theorem asserts that if $f$ is a suitably generalized concept of seminorm from a nonassociative ring to a partially ordered nonassociative ring endowed with Frink's interval topology, then under certain conditions, the subset of elements such that $f(1-a) < 1$ consists entirely of invertible elements. Part of the assumption of the second theorem is that of Hausdorff sequential Cauchy-completeness of the first ring under the topology induced by the seminorm $f$ (which takes values in a partially ordered nonassociative ring endowed with Frink's interval topology). Frink's interval topology is an example of a coarse locally-convex $T_1$ topology. Moreover, to our knowledge, the topology induced by a seminorm into a partially ordered nonassociative ring has never been introduced. Some additional original facts, such as the fact that the topology on a nonassociative ring $R_1$ induced by a norm into a totally ordered associative division ring $R_2$ endowed with Frink's interval topology (or equivalently, with the order topology, since the order of $R_2$ is total) is a Hausdorff locally convex quasi-topological group with an additional separate continuity property of the product, are dealt with in the second section ''Preliminaries''.

Abstract:Let k be a perfect field and A a finite dimensional k-algebra of finite global dimension (e.g. the path algebra of a finite quiver without oriented cycles). Making use of the recent theory of noncommutative motives, we prove that the value of every additive invariant at A only depends on the number of simple modules. Examples of additive invariants include algebraic K-theory, cyclic homology (and all its variants), topological Hochschild homology, etc. Along the way we establish two results of general interest. The first one concerns the compatibility between bilinear pairings and Galois actions on the Grothendieck group of every proper dg category. The second one is a transfer result in the setting of noncommutative motives.

Abstract:In the first part of the paper we describe $\varphi$-derivations of the incidence algebra $I(X,K)$ of a locally finite poset $X$ over a field $K$, where $\varphi$ is an arbitrary automorphism of $I(X,K)$. We show that they admit decompositions similar to that of usual derivations of $I(X,K)$. In particular, the quotient of the space of $\varphi$-derivations of $I(X,K)$ by the subspace of inner $\varphi$-derivations of $I(X,K)$ is isomorphic to the first group of certain cohomology of $X$, which is developed in the second part of the paper.

Abstract:We study new classes of linear preservers between C$^*$-algebras and JB$^*$-triples. Let $E$ and $F$ be JB$^*$-triples with $\partial_{e} (E_1)$. We prove that every linear map $T:E\to F$ strongly preserving Brown-Pedersen quasi-invertible elements is a triple homomorphism. Among the consequences, we establish that, given two unital C$^*$-algebras $A$ and $B,$ for each linear map $T$ strongly preserving Brown-Pedersen quasi-invertible elements, then there exists a Jordan $^*$-homomorphism $S: A\to B$ satisfying $T(x) = T(1) S(x)$, for every $x\in A$. We also study the connections between linear maps strongly preserving Brown-Pedersen quasi-invertibility and other clases of linear preservers between C$^*$-algebras like Bergmann-zero pairs preservers, Brown-Pedersen quasi-invertibility preservers and extreme points preservers.

Abstract:Let A and B be standard operator algebras on infinite dimensional complex Banach spaces X and Y, respectively, and let Φ be an additive surjection from A onto B. We prove that if Φ is unital and preserves any one of (left, right) invertibility, (left, right) zero divisors, (left, right) topological divisors of zero, quasi-affinity, injectivity, surjectivity, range density, lower-boundedness and left (right) maximal ideals in both directions, then it has one of the following forms: isomorphism, conjugate isomorphism, anti-isomorphism and conjugate anti-isomorphism. We also show that Φ preserves zero products in both directions if and only if Φ is either an isomorphism or a conjugate isomorphism.
