Abstract:Let $f$ be analytic in the unit disk and $\mathcal{S}$ be the subclass of normalized univalent functions with $f(0) = 0$, and $f'(0) = 1$. Let $F$ be the inverse function of $f$, given by $F(w)=w+\sum_{n=2}^{\infty}A_nw^n$ defined on some disk $|w|\le r_0(f)$. The inverse logarithmic coefficients $\Gamma_n$, $n \in \mathbb{N}$, of $f$ are defined by the equation $ \log(F(w)/w)=2\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\Gamma_{n}w^{n},\,|w|<1/4.$ In this paper, we find the sharp upper and lower bounds for moduli difference of second and first inverse logarithmic coefficients, {\em i.e.,} $|\Gamma_2|-|\Gamma_1|$ for functions in class $\mathcal{S}$ and for functions in some important subclasses of univalent functions.

Abstract:The family consists of functions that are analytic and univalent in the unit disc and of the form . By the logarithmic coefficients of f in , one means the coefficients of the expansion I. M. Milin proposed a system of inequalities for the logarithmic coefficients of the family . Among those inequalities, one that is well-known as the Milin conjecture, was the key result in proving the Bieberbach conjecture by L. de Branges in 1984. In this study, we establish the logarithmic coefficient inequalities for a general family of starlike functions which are described by a subordination relation. Then, several special cases are deduced, which include one that corrects an earlier published result.

Log concavity of the Grothendieck class of $\overline{\mathcal M}_{0,n}$

Abstract:Using a known recursive formula for the Grothendieck classes of the moduli spaces $\overline{\mathcal M}_{0,n}$, we prove that they satisfy an asymptotic form of ultra-log-concavity as polynomials in the Lefschetz class. We also observe that these polynomials are $\gamma$-positive. Both properties, along with numerical evidence, support the conjecture that these polynomials only have real zeros. This conjecture may be viewed as a particular case of a possible extension of a conjecture of Ferroni-Schröter and Huh on Hilbert series of Chow rings of matroids.

Abstract:If $f:{\bf R}^d\to{\bf C}$ is bounded and $f$'s Hölder $\alpha$-modulus of continuity grows no faster than $(1+\vert x\vert)^M$ ($M\geq0$) then, for every $\epsilon>0$, there is a $\beta>0$ such that $f$'s Hölder $\beta$-modulus grows no faster than $(1+\vert x\vert)^{\epsilon}$. We use this easy fact to show that, if $\vert f\vert$ decays as fast as $(1+\vert x\vert)^{-R}$ (for $R>0$) and $f$'s $\alpha$-Hölder modulus grows no faster than $(1+\vert x\vert)^M$, then, for every $0\leq R'< R$, there is a $\beta>0$ such that $f$'s $\beta$-Hölder modulus decays as fast as $(1+\vert x\vert)^{-R'}$. We apply this to strengthen a result of Coifman and Meyer on almost-orthogonality of vaguelet families and to derive other useful facts about vaguelets and vaguelet-like functions.

Abstract:Assuming the Riemann Hypothesis, Goldston, Gonek and Montgomery \cite{GGM} studied the second moment of the log-derivative of $\zeta$, shifted away from the half line by $a/\log T$, and its connection with the pair correlation conjecture. In this paper, we consider a weighted version of this problem, where the average is tilted by $|\zeta(\frac{1}{2}+it)|^2$. More precisely, we provide an upper and a lower bound for the second moment of zeta times its logarithmic derivative, $a/\log T$ away from the critical line.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the properties of the Fenchel–Moreau conjugate of G-function with respect to the coupling function . We provide conditions that guarantee that the conjugate is also a G-function. We also show that if a G-function G is twice differentiable and its second derivative belongs to the Orlicz space generated by the Fenchel–Moreau conjugate of G then the modular generated by G is twice differentiable on the Orlicz space generated by G . We also investigate second-order differentiability of action functionals on anisotropic Orlicz–Sobolev spaces.

Abstract:In this work, we show that the difference of a Hauptmodul for a genus zero group $\Gamma_{0}(N)$ as a Hilbert modular function on $Y_{0}(N)\times Y_{0}(N)$ is a Borcherds lift of type $(2,2)$. As applications, we derive Monster denominator formula like product expansions for these Hilbert modular functions and certain Gross-Zagier type CM value formulas.

Abstract:We use the theory of logarithmic line bundles to construct compactifications of spaces of roots of a line bundle on a family of curves, generalising work of a number of authors. This runs via a study of the torsion in the tropical and logarithmic jacobians (recently constructed by Molcho and Wise). Our moduli space carries a `double ramification cycle' measuring the locus where the given root is isomorphic to the trivial bundle, and we give a tautological formula for this class in the language of piecewise polynomial functions (as recently developed by Molcho-Pandharipande-Schmitt and Holmes-Schwarz).

On differences of two harmonic numbers

Abstract:We prove that the existence of infinitely many $(m_k, n_k) \in \mathbb{N}^2$ such that the difference of harmonic numbers $H_{m_k} - H_{n_k}$ approximates 1 well $$ \lim_{k \rightarrow \infty} \left| \sum_{\ell = n}^{m_k} \frac{1}{\ell} - 1 \right|\cdot n_k^2 = 0.$$ This answers a question of Erdős and Graham. The construction uses asymptotics for harmonic numbers, the precise nature of the continued fraction expansion of $e$ and a suitable rescaling of a subsequence of convergents. We also prove a quantitative rate by appealing to techniques of Heilbronn, Danicic, Harman, Hooley and others regarding $\min_{1 \leq n \leq N} \min_{m \in \mathbb{N}}\| n^2 \theta - m\|$.

Abstract:First, we are concerned with a lemma on the difference quotients due to Halburd, Korhonen and Tohge. We show that for meromorphic functions whose deficiency is origin dependent the exceptional set associated with this lemma is of infinite linear measure. In particular, for such entire functions in this set there is an infinite sequence {r(n)} such that m(r(n), f(z c)/ f(z)) not equal o(T(r(n), f)) for all r(n). Then we extend this lemma to the case of meromorphic functions f(z) such that log T(r, f) <= ar/(log r)(2+nu), a, nu > 0, for all sufficiently large r, by using a new Borel type growth lemma. Second, we give a discrete version of this Borel type growth lemma and use it to provide an extension of Halburd's result on first order discrete equations of Malmquist type.

Abstract:The purpose of this article is proving the equality of two natural $\mathcal L$-invariants attached to the adjoint representation of a weigth one cusp form, each defined by purely analytic, respectively algebraic means. The proof departs from Greenberg's definition of the algebraic $\mathcal L$-invariant as a universal norm of a canonical $\mathbb{Z}_p$-extension of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ associated to the representation. We relate it to a certain $2\times 2$ regulator of $p$-adic logarithms of global units by means of class field theory, which we then show to be equal to the analytic $\mathcal L$-invariant computed by Rivero and the second author.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the $N$-dimensional Euclidean Onofri inequality proved by del Pino and Dolbeault for smooth compactly supported functions in $\mathbb{R}^N$, $N \geq 2$. We extend the inequality to a suitable weighted Sobolev space, although no clear connection with standard Sobolev spaces on $\mathbb{S}^N$ through stereographic projection is present, except for the planar case. Moreover, in any dimension $N \geq 2$, we show that the Euclidean Onofri inequality is equivalent to the logarithmic Moser-Trudinger inequality with sharp constant proved by Carleson and Chang for balls in $\mathbb{R}^N$.

Abstract:We establish coanalytic models for a broad class of Hardy-type operators on L 2 [0, 1]. In particular, we show that the logarithmic Hardy operator is unitarily equivalent to the difference between the identity operator and the backward shift on a Bergman-type space. This result leads to several applications related to zero sets and invariant subspaces in weighted Bergman spaces. Additionally, we study logarithmic Hardy operators on L p [0, 1] and obtain results concerning their boundedness, operator norms, and spectra.

Abstract:It has been shown in Yang and Tian (Acta Math Sci 42B(3):847–864, 2022) that the function is absolutely monotonic on (0, 1) if and only if , where is the complete elliptic integral of the first kind defined on (0, 1). This result, in this paper, will be extended to the Gaussian hypergeometric function, more precisely, the absolutely monotonic properties of will be studied. As applications, several inequalities involving the ratio of Gaussian hypergeometric function and the generalized Grötzch ring function are established.

Abstract:We study Orlicz functions that do not satisfy the $\Delta_2$-condition at zero. We prove that for every Orlicz function $M$ such that $\limsup_{t\to0}M(t)/t^p >0$ for some $p\ge1$, there exists a positive sequence $T=(t_k)_{k=1}^\infty$ tending to zero and such that $$ \sup_{k\in\mathbb{N}}\frac{M(ct_k)}{M(t_k)} <\infty,\text{ for all }c>1, $$ that is, $M$ satisfies the $\Delta_2$ condition with respect to $T$. Consequently, we show that for each Orlicz function with lower Boyd index $\alpha_M < \infty$ there exists an Orlicz function $N$ such that: (a) there exists a positive sequence $T=(t_k)_{k=1}^\infty$ tending to zero such that $N$ satisfies the $\Delta_2$ condition with respect to $T$, and (b) the space $h_N$ is isomorphic to a subspace of $h_M$ generated by one vector. We apply this result to find the maximal possible order of Gâteaux differentiability of a continuous bump function on the Orlicz space $h_M(\Gamma)$ for $\Gamma$ uncountable.
