Abstract:In this paper, we study the evaluation formulas of the interpolated multiple zeta values and the interpolated multiple $t$-values with indices involving $1,2,3$. To get these evaluations, we derive the corresponding algebraic relations in the harmonic algebra.

Abstract:Abstract Recently, Hoffman (Commun. Number Theory Phys. 13:529–567, 2019), Kaneko and Tsumura (Tsukuba J. Math. (in press), 2020) introduced and systematically studied two variants of multiple zeta values of level two, i.e., multiple t -values and multiple T -values, respectively. In this paper, by the contour integration and residue theorem, we establish two general identities, which further reduce to the expressions of the alternating double t -values and T -values. Some examples are also provided.

Abstract:Interpolated multiple $q$-zeta values are deformation of multiple $q$-zeta values with one parameter, $t$, and restore classical multiple zeta values as $t = 0$ and $q \to 1$. In this paper, we discuss generating functions for sum of interpolated multiple $q$-zeta values with fixed weight, depth and $i$-height. The functions are systematically expressed in terms of the basic hypergeometric functions. Compared with the result of Ohno and Zagier, our result includes three generalizations: general height, $q$-deformation and $t$-interpolation. As an application, we prove some expected relations for interpolated multiple $q$-zeta values including sum formulas.

Abstract:We perform a further investigation for the multiple zeta values and their variations and generalizations in this paper. By making use of the method of the generating functions and some connections between the higher-order trigonometric functions and the Lerch zeta function, we explicitly evaluate some weighted sums of the multiple zeta, Hurwitz zeta, and alternating multiple zeta values in terms of the Bernoulli and Euler polynomials and numbers. It turns out that various known results are deduced as special cases.

Abstract:In this paper, we study new classes of Apéry-type series involving the central binomial coefficients and the multiple t-harmonic sums by combining the methods of iterated integrals and Fourier–Legendre series expansions, where the multiple t-harmonic sums are a variation of multiple harmonic sums in which all the summation indices are restricted to odd numbers only. Our approach also enables us to generalize some old classes of Apéry-type series involving harmonic sums to those with products of multiple harmonic sums and multiple t-harmonic sums. We show that these series can be expressed as either the real or the imaginary part of a Q -linear combination of colored multiple zeta values of level 4. Hopefully, these relations will shed some new lights on their properties which may lead to novel approaches to irrationality questions on the Riemmann zeta values, or more generally, the multiple zeta values.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain a restricted decomposition formula for interpolated multiple zeta values using t-stuffle product. We then derive a recursive formula of t-stuffle product, which also provides a route to the same formula. In both cases, combinatorial description of t-stuffle product is our basic tool. We also provide alternative proofs by mathematical induction for some of the results.

Abstract:Recently, a new kind of multiple zeta value level two $T({\bf k})$ (which is called multiple $T$-values) was introduced and studied by Kaneko and Tsumura. In this paper, we define a kind of alternating version of multiple $T$-values, and study several duality formulas of weighted sum formulas about alternating multiple $T$-values by using the methods of iterated integral representations and series representations. Some special values of alternating multiple $T$-values can also be obtained.

Abstract:In studying the depth filtration on multiple zeta values, difficulties quickly arise due to a disparity between it and the coradical filtration. In particular, there are additional relations in the depth graded algebra coming from period polynomials of cusp forms for $SL_2(\mathbb{Z})$. In contrast, a simple combinatorial filtration, the block filtration is known to agree with the coradical filtration, and so there is no similar defect in the associated graded. However, via an explicit evaluation of $\zeta(2,\ldots,2,4,2,\ldots,2)$ as a polynomial in double zeta values, we derive these period polynomial relations as a consequence of an intrinsic symmetry of block graded multiple zeta values in block degree 2. In deriving this evaluation, we find a Galois descent of certain alternating double zeta values to classical double zeta values, which we then apply to give an evaluation of the multiple $t$ values $t(2\ell,2k)$ in terms of classical double zeta values.

Abstract:In this paper we define a continuous version of multiple zeta functions. They can be analytically continued to meromorphic functions on $\mathbb{C}^r$ with only simple poles at some special hyperplanes. The evaluations of these functions at positive integers (continuous multiple zeta values) satisfy the shuffle product. We give a detailed analysis about the depth structure of continuous multiple zeta values. There are also sum formulas for continuous multiple zeta values. Lastly we calculate some special continuous multiple zeta values in terms of special values of multiple polylogarithms.

Abstract:Multiple zeta values associated with function fields with varying constant fields are dealt with simultaneously. Thakur introduced multiple zeta values in the arithmetic of positive characteristic function fields, and the definition depends on the field of constants of the chosen function field. Using Papanikolas' theory on the relationship between the $t$-motivic Galois group and the periods of a pre-$t$-motive, we show that there exist no algebraic relations which relate multiple zeta values with different constants field.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a formula that connects two variants of multiple zeta values; multitangent functions and symmetric multiple zeta values. As an application of this formula, we give two results. First, we prove Bouillot's conjecture on the structures of the algebra of multitangent functions. Second, we prove an analogue of the linear part of Kawashima's relation for symmetric multiple zeta values.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is two-fold. First, we consider the classical Mordell--Tornheim zeta values and their alternating version. It is well-known that these values can be expressed as rational linear combinations of multiple zeta values (MZVs) and the alternating MZVs, respectively. We show that, however, the spaces generated by these values over the rational numbers are in general much smaller than the MZV space and the alternating MZV space, respectively, which disproves a conjecture of Bachmann, Takeyama and Tasaka. Second, we study supercongruences of some finite sums of multiple integer variables. This kind of congruences is a variation of the so called finite multiple zeta values when the moduli are primes instead of prime powers. In general, these objects can be transformed to finite analogs of the Mordell--Tornheim sums which can be reduced to multiple harmonic sums. This approach not only simplifies the proof of a few previous results but also generalizes some of them. At the end of the paper, we also provide a conjecture supported by strong numerical evidence.

Abstract:We aim to provide explicit formulas for values and derivative values along a direction of some generalized Hurwitz multizeta functions at nonpositive integers. We will express these values in terms of Bernoulli polynomials, and the derivative values in terms of Bernoulli polynomials, of derivative values at nonpositive integers of the Hurwitz zeta function, and of derivative values at nonpositive integers of some generalized Barnes zeta functions. Then we will apply these formulas in order to compute the values and the derivative values at $s=0$ of the Witten zeta functions $\zeta_{\mathfrak{g}_2}$ and $\zeta_{\mathfrak{so}(5)}$. As an application, we will find an explicit asymptotic formula for the number of representations of dimension $n$ of the exceptional Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_2$ using a generalized Meinardus-type theorem proved by Bridges, Brindle, Bringmann, and Franke.

Abstract:Many variations of the multiple zeta values have been found to play important roles in different branches of mathematics and theoretical physics in recent years, such as the cyclotomic/color version, which appears prominently in the computation of Feynman integrals. In this paper, we introduce a trigonometric variant of the Kaneko–Tsumura ψ-function (called the Kaneko–Tsumura ψ ̃-function) and discover some nice properties similar to those for ordinary Kaneko–Tsumura ψ-values using the method of iterated integrals, which was first studied systematically by K.T. Chen in the 1960s. In particular, we establish some duality formulas involving the Kaneko–Tsumura ψ ̃-function and alternating multiple T-values by adapting Yamamoto's graphical representation method for computing special types of iterated integrals.

In particular, we will establish many explicit relations between parametric Apéry-type series involving one or two parametric binomial coefficients and Hurwitz-type multiple zeta values (with $r$-variables) by using the method of iterated integrals.

Creative telescoping and generating functions of (variants of) multiple zeta values

Abstract:We show how to convert the generating series of interpolated multiple zeta values, or multiple $t$ values, with repeating blocks of length 1 into hypergeometric series. Then we invoke creative telescoping on their generating functions, in some known cases for illustration, and in some apparently new cases, reducing them to polynomials in Riemann zeta values. The new evaluations, including $ \zeta^{1/2}(\{\bar2\}^n,3) $, $ \zeta^\star(\{1,3\}^n,1,2) $ and $ t^{1/2}(2,\{1\}^n,2) $, resolve some questions raised elsewhere, and seem to be non-trivial using other methods.

Abstract:In this paper, we define and study a variant of multiple zeta values of level 2 (which is called multiple mixed values or multiple $M$-values, MMVs for short), which forms a subspace of the space of alternating multiple zeta values. This variant includes both Hoffman's multiple $t$-values and Kaneko-Tsumura's multiple $T$-values as special cases. We set up the algebra framework for the double shuffle relations (DBSFs) of the MMVs, and exhibits nice properties such as duality, integral shuffle relation, series stuffle relation, etc., similar to ordinary multiple zeta values. Moreover, we study several $T$-variants of Kaneko-Yamamoto type multiple zeta values by establishing some explicit relations between these $T$-variants and Kaneko-Tsumura $\psi$-values. Furthermore, we prove that all Kaneko-Tsumura $\psi$-values can be expressed in terms of Kaneko-Tsumura multiple $T$-values by using multiple associated integrals, and find some duality formulas for Kaneko-Tsumura $\psi$-values. We also discuss the explicit evaluations for a kind of MMVs of depth two and three by using the method of contour integral and residue theorem. Finally, we investigate the dimensions of a few interesting subspaces of MMVs for small weights.

Abstract:We introduce an iterated integral version of (generalized) log-sine integrals (iterated log-sine integrals) and prove a relation between a multiple polylogarithm and iterated log-sine integrals. We also give a new method for obtaining relations among multiple zeta values, which uses iterated log-sine integrals, and give alternative proofs of several known results related to multiple zeta values and log-sine integrals.

Abstract:In this paper, we will study finite multiple $T$-values (MTVs) and their alternating versions, which are level two and level four variations of finite multiple zeta values, respectively. We will first provide some structural results for level two finite multiple zeta values (i.e., finite Euler sums) for small weights, guided by the author's previous conjecture that the finite Euler sum space of weight, $w$, is isomorphic to a quotient Euler sum space of weight, $w$. Then, by utilizing some well-known properties of the classical alternating MTVs, we will derive a few important $\Q$-linear relations among the finite alternating MTVs, including the reversal, linear shuffle, and sum relations. We then compute the upper bound for the dimension of the $\Q$-span of finite (alternating) MTVs for some small weights by rigorously using the newly discovered relations, numerically aided by computers.
