Abstract:In this paper, we express ∑n,m≥1ε1nε2mMn(u)Mm(v)nrms(n+m)t as a linear combination of alternating multiple zeta values, where εi∈{1,−1} and Mk(u)∈{Hk(u),H ̄k(u)}, with Hk(u) and H ̄k(u) being harmonic and alternating harmonic numbers, respectively. These sums include Subbarao and Sitaramachandrarao's alternating analogues of Tornheim's double series as a special case. Our method is based on employing two different techniques to evaluate the specific integral associated with a 3-poset Hasse diagram.

Abstract:In this paper, we solve the open problem posed by Kuba by expressing ∑j,k≥1Hk(u)Hj(v)Hj+k(w)jrks(j+k)t as a linear combination of multiple zeta values. These sums include Tornheim's double series as a special case. Our approach is based on employing two distinct methods to evaluate the specific integral proposed by Yamamoto, which is associated with the two-poset Hasse diagram. We also provide a new evaluation formula for the general Mordell–Tornheim series and some similar types of double and triple series.

Abstract:The Mertens' first theorem gives us the following asymptotic formula \begin{equation*} \sum_{\substack{p\leq x\\ p~prime}}\frac{lnp}{p}=lnx+O(1), \end{equation*} and the Mertens' second theorem indicates that there exists a constant $B\approx 0.261$, named the Mertens constant, such that \begin{equation*} \sum_{\substack{p\leq x\\ p~prime}}\frac{1}{p}=ln(lnx)+B+O\left(\frac{1}{lnx}\right). \end{equation*} In this paper, by using the Abel summation formula and Dirichlet's hyperbola method, we extend them to multiple cases.

Abstract:We study the asymptotic behavior of a multiple series of Mordell-Tornheim type and its integral analogue at x=0. Our approach is to show a relation between the multiple series and its integral analogue by using Abel's summation formula, and to deeply investigate the behavior of the integral analogue. Additionally, we establish some nontrivial relations among multiple polylogarithms by comparing two seemingly different asymptotic formulas for the integral analogue.

Abstract:We prove an evaluation for the stuffle-regularised alternating multiple value in terms of , the regularisation parameter, and . This arises by evaluating the corresponding generating series using the Evans-Stanton/Ramanujan asymptotics of a zero-balanced hypergeometric function , and an evaluation established by Li in an alternative approach to Zagier's evaluation of . We end with some discussion and conjectures on possible motivic applications.

Mordell--Tornheim Zeta Values, Their Alternating Version, and Their Finite Analogs

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is two-fold. First, we consider the classical Mordell--Tornheim zeta values and their alternating version. It is well-known that these values can be expressed as rational linear combinations of multiple zeta values (MZVs) and the alternating MZVs, respectively. We show that, however, the spaces generated by these values over the rational numbers are in general much smaller than the MZV space and the alternating MZV space, respectively, which disproves a conjecture of Bachmann, Takeyama and Tasaka. Second, we study supercongruences of some finite sums of multiple integer variables. This kind of congruences is a variation of the so called finite multiple zeta values when the moduli are primes instead of prime powers. In general, these objects can be transformed to finite analogs of the Mordell--Tornheim sums which can be reduced to multiple harmonic sums. This approach not only simplifies the proof of a few previous results but also generalizes some of them. At the end of the paper, we also provide a conjecture supported by strong numerical evidence.

Abstract:Recently, a new kind of multiple zeta value level two $T({\bf k})$ (which is called multiple $T$-values) was introduced and studied by Kaneko and Tsumura. In this paper, we define a kind of alternating version of multiple $T$-values, and study several duality formulas of weighted sum formulas about alternating multiple $T$-values by using the methods of iterated integral representations and series representations. Some special values of alternating multiple $T$-values can also be obtained.

Some Remarks on Maesaka-Seki-Watanabe's Formula for the Multiple Harmonic Sums

Abstract:Recently, Maesaka, Seki and Watanabe discovered a surprising equality between multiple harmonic sums and certain Riemann sums which approximate the iterated integral expression of the multiple zeta values. In this paper, we describe the formula corresponding to the multiple zeta-star values and, more generally, to the Schur multiple zeta values of diagonally constant indices. We also discuss the relationship of these formulas with Hoffman's duality identity and an identity due to Kawashima.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish some expressions of Mneimneh-type binomial sums involving multiple harmonic-type sums in terms of finite sums of Stirling numbers, Bell numbers and some related variables. In particular, we present some new formulas of Mneimneh-type binomial sums involving generalized (alternating) harmonic numbers. Further, we establish a new identity relating the multiple zeta star values $\zeta^\star(m+2,\{1\}_{r-1})$ and specific multiple polylogarithms by applying the Toeplitz principle. Furthermore, we present some interesting consequences and illustrative examples.

Abstract:Apéry-type (inverse) binomial series have appeared prominently in the calculations of Feynman integrals in recent years. In our previous work, we showed that a few large classes of the non-alternating Apéry-type (inverse) central binomial series can be evaluated using colored multiple zeta values of level four (i.e., special values of multiple polylogarithms at fourth roots of unity) by expressing them in terms of iterated integrals. In this sequel, we shall prove that for several classes of the alternating versions we need to raise the level to eight. Our main idea is to adopt hyperbolic trigonometric 1-forms to replace the ordinary trigonometric ones used in the non-alternating setting.
