Abstract:Polyhedral realization of crystal bases is one of the methods for describing the crystal base B(∞) of a quantized enveloping algebra explicitly. This method can be applied to symmetrizable Kac-Moody types. We can also apply this method to the crystal bases B(λ) of integrable highest weight modules and of modified quantum algebras. But, the explicit forms of the polyhedral realizations of crystal bases B(∞) and B(λ) are only given in the case of arbitrary rank 2, of An and of An(1). So, we will give the polyhedral realizations of crystal bases B(∞) and B(λ) for all simple Lie algebras in this paper.

Abstract:We shall describe a simple generalization of commutative rings. The category GR of such "rings", contains the ordinary commutative rings (fully faithfully), but also the "integers" and "residue field" at a real or complex place of a field ; the "field with one element" (the initial object of GR ); the "arithmetical surface" ( the sum in the category GR of the integers with them self: Z(x)Z ) . We shall show that this geometry "see" the real and complex places of a number field (there is an Ostrowski theorem that the valuation sub-GR of a number field correspond to the finite and infinite primes; there is a compactification of the spectrum of the integers ). One can develop algebraic geometry using GR following Grothendieck paradigm . Quillen's homotopical algebra replaces homological algebra . There is an analogue of Quillen's cotangent bundle - in particular there is a theory of non-additive derivations, with modules of Kahler differentials which satisfy all the usual exact sequences - we compute explicitly the differentials of the integers Z over the initial object F1 . Finally we associate with any topological compact valuation GR a meromorphic function - its "zeta" : for the p-adic integers we get the p-local factor of zeta, for the "real integers" we get the gamma factor.

Abstract:A universal analytic Gr{ö}bner basis (UAGB) of an ideal of a Tate algebra is a set containing a local Gr{ö}bner basis for all suitable convergence radii. In a previous article, the authors proved the existence of finite UAGB's for polynomial ideals, leaving open the question of how to compute them. In this paper, we provide an algorithm computing a UAGB for a given polynomial ideal, by traversing the Gr{ö}bner fan of the ideal. As an application, it offers a new point of view on algorithms for computing tropical varieties of homogeneous polynomial ideals, which typically rely on lifting the computations to an algebra of power series. Motivated by effective computations in tropical analytic geometry, we also examine local bases for more general convergence conditions, constraining the radii to a convex polyhedron. In this setting, we provide an algorithm to compute local Gr{ö}bner bases and discuss obstacles towards proving the existence of finite UAGBs. Abstract:Let $K\langle X\rangle =K\langle X_1,...,X_n\rangle$ be the free algebra of $n$ generators over a field $K$, and let $R\langle X\rangle =R\langle X_1,...,X_n\rangle$ be the free algebra of $n$ generators over an arbitrary commutative ring $R$. In this semi-expository paper, it is clarified that any monic Gröbner basis in $K\langle X\rangle$ may give rise to a monic Gröbner basis of the same type in $R\langle X\rangle$, and vice versa. This fact turns out that many important $R$-algebras have defining relations which form a monic Gröbner basis, and consequently, such $R$-algebras may be studied via a nice PBW structure theory as that developed for quotient algebras of $K\langle X\rangle$ in ([LWZ], [Li2, 3]).

On Mirković-Vilonen polytopes

Abstract:Mirković-Vilonen polytopes encode in a geometrical way the numerical data present in the Kashiwara crystal $B(\infty)$ of a semisimple group $G$. We retrieve these polytopes from the coproduct of the Hopf algebra $\mathscr O(N)$ of regular functions on a maximal unipotent subgroup $N$ of $G$. We bring attention to a remarkable behavior that the classical bases (dual canonical, dual semicanonical, Mirković-Vilonen) of $\mathscr O(N)$ manifest with respect to the extremal points of these polytopes, which extends the crystal operations. This study leans on a notion of stability for graded bialgebras.

Abstract:This article develops a practical technique for studying representations of $\Bbbk$-linear categories arising in the categorification of quantum groups. We work in terms of locally unital algebras which are $\mathbb{Z}$-graded with graded pieces that are finite-dimensional and bounded below, developing a theory of graded triangular bases for such algebras. The definition is a graded extension of the notion of triangular basis introduced in previous joint work with Stroppel. However, in the general graded setting, finitely generated projective modules often fail to be Noetherian, so that existing results from the study of highest weight categories are not directly applicable. Nevertheless, we show that there is still a good theory of standard modules. In motivating examples arising from Kac-Moody 2-categories, these modules categorify the PBW bases for the modified forms of quantum groups constructed by Wang.

Abstract:Nakajima's graded quiver varieties naturally appear in the study of bases of cluster algebras. One particular family of these varieties, namely the bipartite determinantal varieties , can be defined for any bipartite quiver and gives a vast generalization of classical determinantal varieties with broad applications to algebra, geometry, combinatorics, and statistics. The ideals that define bipartite determinantal varieties are called bipartite determinantal ideals. We provide an elementary method of proof showing that the natural generators of a bipartite determinantal ideal form a Gröbner basis, using an S-polynomial construction method that relies on the Leibniz formula for determinants. This method is developed from an idea by Narasimhan and Caniglia–Guccione–Guccione. As applications, we study the connection between double determinantal ideals (which are bipartite determinantal ideals of a quiver with two vertices) and tensors, and provide an interpretation of these ideals within the context of algebraic statistics.

A Foundation for Synthetic Algebraic Geometry

Abstract:This is a foundation for algebraic geometry, developed internal to the Zariski topos, building on the work of Kock and Blechschmidt. The Zariski topos consists of sheaves on the site opposite to the category of finitely presented algebras over a fixed ring, with the Zariski topology, i.e. generating covers are given by localization maps $A\to A_{f_1}$ for finitely many elements $f_1,\dots,f_n$ that generate the ideal $(1)=A\subseteq A$. We use homotopy type theory together with three axioms as the internal language of a (higher) Zariski topos. One of our main contributions is the use of higher types -- in the homotopical sense -- to define and reason about cohomology. Actually computing cohomology groups, seems to need a principle along the lines of our ``Zariski local choice'' axiom, which we justify as well as the other axioms using a cubical model of homotopy type theory.

Abstract:In this article, we look at analytic geometry from the perspective of relative algebraic geometry with respect to the categories of bornological and Ind-Banach spaces over valued fields (both Archimedean and non-Archimedean). We are able to recast the theory of Grosse-Klönne dagger affinoid domains with their weak G-topology in this new language. We prove an abstract recognition principle for the generators of their standard topology (the morphisms appearing in the covers) and for the condition of a family of morphisms to be a cover. We end with a sketch of an emerging theory of dagger affinoid spaces over the integers, or any Banach ring, where we can see the Archimedean and non-Archimedean worlds coming together.

Advances in Applied Clifford Algebras

Abstract:Using the syzygy method, established in our earlier paper (Krasnov and Tkachev, Honor of Wolfgang SprßigTrends Math, Birkhäuser/Springer Basel AG, Basel, 2018), we characterize the combinatorial stratification of the variety of two-dimensional real generic algebras. We show that there exist exactly three different homotopic types of such algebras and relate this result to potential applications and known facts from qualitative theory of quadratic ODEs. The genericity condition is crucial. For example, the idempotent geometry in Clifford algebras or Jordan algebras of Clifford type is very different: such algebras always contain nontrivial submanifolds of idempotents.

Abstract:We describe bases for the morphism spaces of the Frobenius Heisenberg categories associated to a symmetric graded Frobenius algebra, proving several open conjectures. Our proof uses a categorical comultiplication and generalized cyclotomic quotients of the category. We use our basis theorem to prove that the Grothendieck ring of the Karoubi envelope of the Frobenius Heisenberg category recovers the lattice Heisenberg algebra associated to the Frobenius algebra.

Abstract:Gröbner bases are nowadays central tools for solving various problems in commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. A typical use of Gröbner bases is the multivariate polynomial system solving, which enables us to construct algebraic attacks against post-quantum cryptographic protocols. Therefore, the determination of the complexity of computing Gröbner bases is very important both in theory and in practice: One of the most important cases is the case where input polynomials compose an (overdetermined) affine semi-regular sequence. The first part of this paper aims to present a survey on Gröbner basis computation and its complexity. In the second part, we shall give an explicit formula on the (truncated) Hilbert-Poincaré series associated to the homogenization of an affine semi-regular sequence. Based on the formula, we also study (reduced) Gröbner bases of the ideals generated by an affine semi-regular sequence and its homogenization. Some of our results are considered to give mathematically rigorous proofs of the correctness of methods for computing Gröbner bases of the ideal generated by an affine semi-regular sequence.

Abstract:We define and investigate a geometric object, called an associative geometry, corresponding to an associative algebra (and, more generally, to an associative pair). Associative geometries combine aspects of Lie groups and of generalized projective geometries, where the former correspond to the Lie product of an associative algebra and the latter to its Jordan product. A further development of the theory encompassing involutive associative algebras will be given in subsequent work.

Abstract:Geiss, Leclerc and Schröer introduced a class of 1-Iwanaga-Gorenstein algebras $H$ associated to symmetrizable Cartan matrices with acyclic orientations, generalizing the path algebras of acyclic quivers. They also proved that indecomposable rigid $H$-modules of finite projective dimension are in bijection with non-initial cluster variables of the corresponding Fomin-Zelevinsky cluster algebra. In this article, we prove in all affine types that their conjectural Caldero-Chapoton type formula on these modules coincide with the Laurent expression of cluster variables. By taking generic Caldero-Chapoton functions on varieties of modules of finite projective dimension, we obtain bases for affine type cluster algebras with full-rank coefficients containing all cluster monomials.

Abstract:In this note we show how to apply the Gröbner--Shirshov bases (GSB) method for modules over an associative algebra to the study of vertex algebras defined by generators and relations. We compute GSBs for a series of vertex algebras and study the problem of embedding of a left-symmetric algebra into a vertex one preserving the normally ordered product.

A note on regular polyhedra over finite fields

Abstract:Grothendieck proposed a theory of regular polyhedra over finite fields in Section 4 of \textit{Esquisse d'un Programme}. He isolates certain key parameters from the automorphism groups of regular polyhedra, which can be extended to any genus and specialized to various rings. In this note we give an interpretation of his sketched theory which explains some of his observations. We are able to compute some explicit examples and address a question Grothendieck raised about them in connection to dessins d'enfants. Finally, we highlight some of Grothendieck's observations which remain unexplained by our current approach.

Abstract:Many (if not most) of convex polytopes, important for combinatorial and algebraic geometry, are closely related to secondary polytopes of point configurations, or base polytopes of submodular functions, or their numerous variations and generalizations. The aim of this text is to introduce the class of basecondary polytopes. This class includes (and allows to study uniformly) the aforementioned ones, as well as some others, e.g. appearing as Newton polytopes of important discriminant hypersurfaces. Most notably, this includes the discriminant of the Lyashko--Looijenga map, which is important for enumerative geometry of ramified coverings and cannot be reduced (by far) to Gelfand--Kapranov--Zelevinsky's A-discriminants and secondary polytopes.
