Abstract:We provide a finite dimensional categorification of the symmetric evaluation of $\mathfrak{sl}_N$-webs using foam technology. As an output we obtain a symmetric link homology theory categorifying the link invariant associated to symmetric powers of the standard representation of $\mathfrak{sl}_N$. In addition, the construction is actually made in an equivariant setting. We prove also that there is a spectral sequence from the Khovanov-Rozansky triply graded link homology to the symmetric one and provide along the way a foam interpretation of Soergel bimodules.

After reviewing its construction and explaining our methodology for computing it, we present results of computations of the spectral sequence. Based on these computations, we make a number of conjectures concerning the structure of the spectral sequence, and towards those conjectures, we prove some propositions.

Abstract:In the first part of this paper, we constructed a filtered U(r)-equivariant stable homotopy type called the spectrum of strict broken symmetries sB(L) of links L given by closing a braid with r strands. Evaluating this filtered spectrum on suitable U(r)-equivariant cohomology theories gives rise to a spectral sequence of link invariants that converges to the cohomology of the limiting spectrum. In this paper, we evaluate our construction on Borel equivariant singular cohomology HU(r). We show that the E_2-term of the spectral sequence is isomorphic to an unreduced verision of triply-graded link homology. More precisely, we show that the E_1-term of the spectral sequence is isomorphic to the Hochschild-homology of Soergel bimodules that was shown by M. Khovanov in to compute triply-graded link homology. We also set up the theory that allows for evaluating our construction on equivariant cohomologies that are twisted by adjoint-equivariant local systems on U(r). This allows us to apply Borel equivariant cohomology twisted by a universal power series p(x) with coefficients given by formal variables, and no constant term. The specialization of p(x) to x^n gives rise to a link homology that has recently been shown by T. Mejıa Gomez to be isomorphic to sl(n)-link homology. In other words, the power series p(x) can be interpreted as the (differential of the) universal potential function with no linear term, in the language of matrix factorizations.

Abstract:We compute the $E_2$ page of the Adams spectral sequence converging to the connective KO-theory of the second mod 2 Eilenberg-MacLane space, $ko_*(K(Z/2,2))$. This required a careful analysis of the structure of $H^*(K(Z/2,2);Z_2)$ as a module over the subalgebra of the Steenrod algebra generated by $Sq^1$ and $Sq^2$. Complete analysis of the spectral sequence will be performed in a subsequent paper.

ku-theoretic spectral decompositions for spheres and projective spaces

Abstract:Ben-Zvi--Sakellaridis--Venkatesh described a conjectural extension of the geometric Satake equivalence to spherical varieties, whose spectral decomposition is described by Hamiltonian varieties. The goal of this article is to study their conjecture, especially in the case of spherical varieties of relative rank 1, using tools from homotopy theory. Our discussion relates their conjecture to classical topics in homotopy theory such as the EHP sequence and Hopf fibrations, as well as more modern topics such as Hochschild (co)homology. We will also study an analogue of the derived geometric Satake equivalence and of the Ben-Zvi--Sakellaridis--Venkatesh conjecture with coefficients in connective complex K-theory. In this generalized setting, the dual group (a la Langlands, Gaitsgory--Nadler, Sakellaridis--Venkatesh, Knop--Schalke) remains unchanged, but the specific dual "representation" of the dual group changes. On the spectral/Langlands dual side, we expect that the appropriate replacement of Hamiltonian varieties are given by what we term "ku-Hamiltonian varieties"; this is a notion interpolating between Hamiltonian and quasi-Hamiltonian varieties (a la Alekseev--Malkin--Meinrenken). Finally, we suggest possible generalizations to more exotic cohomology theories such as complex cobordism.

Abstract:We put a new spin on Khovanov--Rozansky homology. That is, we equip $\Lambda^n$-colored $\mathfrak{sl}_{2n}$ Khovanov--Rozansky homology with an involution whose $\pm 1$-eigenspaces are link invariants. When $n=1,2,3$ (and assuming technical conjectures for $n \geq 4$), we prove that this refined invariant categorifies the spin-colored $\mathfrak{so}_{2n+1}$ quantum link polynomial. Along the way, we partially develop the theory of quantum $\mathfrak{so}_{2n+1}$ webs and make contact with $\iota$quantum groups.

Abstract:In (Xu, J Pure Appl Algebra 212:2555–2569, 2008), a LHS-spectral sequence for target regular extensions of small categories is constructed. We extend this construction to ext-groups and construct a similar spectral sequence for source regular extensions (with right module coefficients). As a special case of these LHS-spectral sequences, we obtain three different versions of Słomińska's spectral sequence for the cohomology of regular EI-categories. We show that many well-known spectral sequences related to the homology decompositions of finite groups, centric linking systems, and the orbit category of fusion systems can be obtained as the LHS-spectral sequence of an extension.

Abstract:We construct a new type of spectral sequences for the mixed Hodge structures on the cohomology of locally symmetric varieties. These spectral sequences converge to the edge components in the Hodge triangles, and the E1 terms are expressed by simple geometric invariants associated to the cusps. They already degenerate at E1 in a certain range, which gives a simple expression of some Hodge components. An identity of holomorphic Euler numbers is obtained as a consequence. The theory of cellular (co)sheaves is used in the construction.

Families of metrics with positive scalar curvature on spectral sequence cobordisms

Abstract:We study families of metrics on the cobordisms that underlie the differential maps in Bloom's monopole Floer spectral sequence, a spectral sequence for links in $S^3$ whose $E^2$ is the Khovanov homology of the link, and which abuts to the monopole Floer homology of the double branched cover of the link. The higher differentials in the spectral sequence count parametrized moduli spaces of solutions to Seiberg-Witten equations, parametrized over a family of metrics with asymptotic behaviour corresponding to a configuration of unlinks with 1-handle attachments. For a class of configurations, we construct families of metrics with the prescribed behaviour, such that each metric therein has positive scalar curvature. The positive scalar curvature implies that there are no irreducible solutions to the Seiberg-Witten equations and thus, when the spectral sequences are computed with these families of metrics, only reducible solutions must be counted. The class of configurations for which we construct these families of metrics includes all configurations that go into the spectral sequence for $T(2,n)$ torus knots, and all configurations that involve exactly two 1-handle attachments.

Abstract:We construct a spectral sequence converging to the Lubin–Tate theory, that is, Morava E ‐theory, of unordered configuration spaces and identify its E2 ‐page as the homology of a Chevalley–Eilenberg‐like complex for Hecke Lie algebras. Based on this, we compute the E ‐theory of the weight p summands of iterated loop spaces of spheres (parameterizing the weight p operations on En ‐algebras), as well as the E ‐theory of the configuration spaces of p points on a punctured surface. We read off the corresponding Morava K ‐theory groups, which appear in a conjecture by Ravenel. Finally, we compute the Fp ‐homology of the space of unordered configurations of p particles on a punctured surface.

Abstract:We show that Khovanov homology and Hochschild homology theories share common structure. In fact they overlap: Khovanov homology of a $(2,n)$-torus link can be interpreted as a Hochschild homology of the algebra underlining the Khovanov homology. In the classical case of Khovanov homology we prove the concrete connection. In the general case of Khovanov-Rozansky, $sl(n)$, homology and their deformations we conjecture the connection. The best framework to explore our ideas is to use a comultiplication-free version of Khovanov homology for graphs developed by L. Helme-Guizon and Y. Rong and extended here to to $\mathbb M$-reduced case, and to noncommutative algebras (in the case of a graph being a polygon). In this framework we prove that for any unital algebra $\A$ the Hochschild homology of $\A$ is isomorphic to graph homology over $\A$ of a polygon. We expect that this paper will encourage a flow of ideas in both directions between Hochschild/cyclic homology and Khovanov homology theories.

On the spectrum of a stable rank 2 vector bundle on $\mathbb{P}^3$

Abstract:The spectrum of a stable rank 2 vector bundle $E$ with $c_1 = 0$ on the projective 3-space is a finite sequence of positive integers $s(0)$, ..., $s(m)$ characterizing the Hilbert function of the graded $H^1$-module of $E$ in negative degrees. Hartshorne [Invent. Math. 66 (1982), 165-190] showed that if $s(i) = 1$ for some $i > 0$ then $s(i+1) = 1$, ..., $s(m) = 1$. We show that if $s(0) = 1$ then $E(1)$ has a global section whose zero scheme is a double structure on a space curve. We deduce, then, the existence of sequences satisfying Hartshorne's condition that cannot be the spectrum of any stable 2-bundle. This provides a negative answer to a question of Hartshorne and Rao [J. Math. Kyoto Univ. 31 (1991), 789-806].

Abstract:Given a based link $(K,p)$, we define a "tilde"-version $\tilde{HMR}(K,p)$ of real monopole Floer homology and prove an unoriented skein exact triangle. We show the Euler characteristic of $\tilde{HMR}(K,p)$ is equal to Miyazawa's invariant $|deg(K)|$ <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2312.02041" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2312.02041">arXiv:2312.02041</a> and examine some examples. Further, we construct a spectral sequence over $\mathbb{F}_2$ abutting to $\tilde{HMR}(K,p)$, whose $E_2$ page is the reduced Khovanov homology $Khr(\overline{K})$ of the mirror link $\overline{K}$.
