We also define Borel-Moore motivic homology, G-theory, and Chow homology of fs log schemes and the category of Chow motives over fs log schemes.

Abstract:We define the log motivic nearby cycles functor. We show that this sends the motive of a proper smooth scheme over the fraction field of a DVR to the motive of the boundary of a log smooth model assuming absolute purity, which is unconditional in the equal characteristic case. In characteristic $0$, we show that the $\infty$-categories of motives over the standard log point and rigid analytic motives are equivalent, and we relate log motivic nearby cycles functor with Ayoub's motivic nearby cycles functor.

Abstract:This work is dedicated to the construction of a new motivic homotopy theory for (log) schemes, generalizing Morel-Voevodsky's (un)stable $\mathbb{A}^1$-homotopy category. Our setting can be used to represent log topological Hochschild and cyclic homology, as well as algebraic $K$-theory of regular schemes, and to realize the cyclotomic trace as a morphism between motivic spectra. Among the applications, a generalized framework of oriented cohomology theories allows us to produce new residue sequences for (topological) Hochschild, periodic and cyclic homology of classical schemes, to compute $\mathrm{THH}$ and variants of Grassmannians, and to define a new version of algebraic cobordism. Finally, we give a construction of a log étale stable realization functor, as well as a Kato-Nakayama realization functor, which are of independent interest for applications in log geometry.

Abstract:We compare the log motivic stable homotopy category and the usual motivic stable homotopy category over a perfect field admitting resolution of singularities. As a consequence, we show that the log motivic stable homotopy groups are isomorphic to the usual motivic stable homotopy groups.

Abstract:For each fs log scheme $(X,\mathcal M_X)$ over a field $k$ we construct a geometrical Voevodsky motive $[X]^{log}\in DM_{gm}(k,\mathbb Q)$. We prove that, for $k=\mathbb C$, the Betti realization of $[X]^{log}$ is the log Betti cohomology of $(X, \mathcal M_X)$. We give applications to motivic tubular neighborhoods, limit motives and the monodromy filtrations.

Abstract:In this paper we prove motivic versions of the Langlands-Shelstad Fundamental Lemma and Ngô's Geometric Stabilization. To achieve this, we follow the strategy from the recent proof by Groechenig, Wyss and Ziegler which avoided the use of perverse sheaves using instead $p$-adic integration and Tate duality. We make a key use of a construction of Denef and Loeser which assigns a virtual motive to any definable set in the theory of pseudo-finite fields.

Abstract:We develop the foundations of logarithmic structures beyond the standard finiteness conditions. The motivation is the study of semistable models over general valuation rings. The key new notion is that of a morphism of finite presentation up to saturation (sfp), which is one that is qcqs and which is locally isomorphic to the saturated base change of a finitely presented morphism between fs log schemes. As in the case of schemes, sfp maps can (locally on the base) be approximated by maps between fs log schemes of finite type over $\mathbb{Z}$. Based on sfp maps, we define smooth, étale, and Kummer étale maps. Importantly, the maps of schemes underlying such maps are no longer of finite type in general, though surprisingly they are if the base is the spectrum of a valuation ring with algebraically closed field of fractions. These foundations allow us to extend beyond the fs case the theory of the Kummer étale site and of the Kummer étale fundamental group.

Abstract:In this article, we study the properties of motivic homotopy category $\mathcal{SH}_{\operatorname{ext}}(\mathcal{X})$ developed by Chowdhury and Khan-Ravi for $\mathcal{X}$ a Nis-loc Stack. In particular, we compare the above construction with Voevodsky's original construction using NisLoc topology. Using the techniques developed by Liu-Zheng and Mann's notion of $\infty$-category of correspondences and abstract six-functor formalisms, we also extend the exceptional functors and extend properties like projection formula, base change and purity to the non-representable situation.

Inverting log blow-ups in log geometry

Abstract:In the category of log schemes, it is unclear how to define the blow-ups for non-strict closed immersions. In this article, we introduce the notion of divided log spaces. We obtain the category of divided log spaces by locally inverting log blow-ups in the category of log schemes. We show that blow-ups exist for closed immersions of log smooth divided log spaces. This is an ingredient of the motivic six-functor formalism for log schemes.

Abstract:We construct a refinement of Gaitsgory's central functor for integral motivic sheaves, and show it preserves stratified Tate motives. Towards this end, we develop a reformulation of unipotent motivic nearby cycles, which also works over higher-dimensional bases. We moreover introduce Wakimoto motives and use them to show that our motivic central functor is t-exact. A decategorification of these functors yields a new approach to generic Hecke algebras for general parahorics.

Abstract:We define real topological Hochschild homology of separated log schemes with involutions. We show that real topological Hochschild homology is $(\mathbb{P}^n,\mathbb{P}^{n-1})$-invariant, which leads to the definition of the motivic real topological Hochschild spectrum living in a certain $\mathbb{Z}/2$-equivariant logarithmic motivic category. We explore properties of real topological Hochschild homology that can be deduced from the logarithmic motivic homotopy theory. We also define the motivic real topological cyclic spectrum.

A construction of the polylogarithm motive

Abstract:Classical polylogarithms give rise to a variation of mixed Hodge-Tate structures on the punctured projective line $S=\mathbb{P}^1\setminus \{0, 1, \infty\}$, which is an extension of the symmetric power of the Kummer variation by a trivial variation. By results of Beilinson-Deligne, Huber-Wildeshaus, and Ayoub, this polylogarithm variation has a lift to the category of mixed Tate motives over $S$, whose existence is proved by computing the corresponding space of extensions in both the motivic and the Hodge settings. In this paper, we construct the polylogarithm motive as an explicit relative cohomology motive, namely that of the complement of the hypersurface $\{1-zt_1\cdots t_n=0\}$ in affine space $\mathbb{A}^n_S$ relative to the union of the hyperplanes $\{t_i=0\}$ and $\{t_i=1\}$.

Abstract:Given a pure motive $M$ over $\mathbb{Q}$ with a multilinear algebraic structure $\mathsf{s}$ on $M$, and given a representation $V$ of the group respecting $\mathsf{s}$, we describe a functorial transfer $M^V$. We formulate a criterion that guarantees when the two periods of $M^V$ are equal. This has an implication for the critical values of the $L$-function attached to $M^V.$ The criterion is explicated in a variety of examples such as: tensor product motives and Rankin-Selberg $L$-functions; orthogonal motives and the standard $L$-function for even orthogonal groups; twisted tensor motives and Asai $L$-functions.

Making the motivic group structure on the endomorphisms of the projective line explicit

Abstract:We construct a group structure on the set of pointed naive homotopy classes of scheme morphisms from the Jouanolou device to the projective line. The group operation is defined via matrix multiplication on generating sections of line bundles and only requires basic algebraic geometry. In particular, it is completely independent of the construction of the motivic homotopy category. We show that a particular scheme morphism, which exhibits the Jouanolou device as an affine torsor bundle over the projective line, induces a monoid morphism from Cazanave's monoid to this group. Moreover, we show that this monoid morphism is a group completion to a subgroup of the group of scheme morphisms from the Jouanolou device to the projective line. This subgroup is generated by a set of morphisms that are simple to describe.

Abstract:We develop a full 6-functor formalism for $p$-torsion \'etale sheaves in rigid-analytic geometry. More concretely, we use the recently developed condensed mathematics by Clausen--Scholze to associate to every small v-stack (e.g. rigid-analytic variety) $X$ with pseudouniformizer $\pi$ an $\infty$-category $\mathcal D^a_\square(\mathcal O^+_X/\pi)$ of "derived quasicoherent complete topological $\mathcal O^+_X/\pi$-modules" on $X$. We then construct the six functors $\otimes$, $\underline{Hom}$, $f^*$, $f_*$, $f_!$ and $f^!$ in this setting and show that they satisfy all the expected compatibilities, similar to the $\ell$-adic case. By introducing $\varphi$-module structures and proving a version of the $p$-torsion Riemann-Hilbert correspondence we relate $\mathcal O^+_X/\pi$-sheaves to $\mathbb F_p$-sheaves. As a special case of this formalism we prove Poincar\'e duality for $\mathbb F_p$-cohomology on rigid-analytic varieties. In the process of constructing $\mathcal D^a_\square(\mathcal O^+_X/\pi)$ we also develop a general descent formalism for condensed modules over condensed rings.

Abstract:We introduce a new Lie-algebraic approach to explicitly construct the motivic coaction and single-valued map of multiple polylogarithms in any number of variables. In both cases, the appearance of multiple zeta values is controlled by conjugating generating series of polylogarithms with Lie-algebra generators associated with odd zeta values. Our reformulation of earlier constructions of coactions and single-valued polylogarithms preserves choices of fibration bases, exposes the correlation between multiple zeta values of different depths and paves the way for generalizations beyond genus zero.

Abstract:We prove that a motivic equivalence of objects of the form \begin{equation*} X/(X-x)\simeq X^\prime/(X^\prime-x^\prime) \end{equation*} in $\mathbf{H}^\bullet(B)$ or $\mathbf{DM}(B)$ over a scheme $B$, where $x$ and $x^\prime$ are closed points of smooth $B$-schemes $X$ and $X^\prime$, implies an isomorphism of residue fields, i.e. \[x\cong x^\prime.\] For a given $d\geq 0$, $X,X^\prime\in\mathrm{Sm}_B$, $\operatorname{dim}_B X=d=\operatorname{dim}_B X^\prime$, and closed points $x$ and $x^\prime$ that residue fields are simple extensions of the ones of $B$, we show an isomorphism of groups \[\mathrm{Hom}_{\mathbf{DM}(B)}(X/(X-x),X^\prime/(X^\prime-x^\prime)))\cong\mathrm{Cor}(x,x^\prime),\] and prove that it leads to an equivalence of subcategories. Additionally, using the result on perverse homotopy heart by F.~Déglise and N.~Feld and F.~Jin and the strict homotopy invariance theorem for presheaves with transfers over fields by the first author, we prove an equivalence of the Rost cycle modules category and the homotopy heart of $\mathbf{DM}(k)$ over a field $k$ with integral coefficients.

Abstract:We compare the topological Milnor fibration and the motivic Milnor fibre of a regular complex function with only normal crossing singularities by introducing their common extension: the complete Milnor fibration. We give two equivalent constructions: the first one extending the classical Kato-Nakayama log-space, and the second one, more geometric, based on the real oriented multigraph construction, a version of the real oriented deformation to the normal cone. As an application, we recover A'Campo's model of the topological Milnor fibration, by quotienting the motivic Milnor fibration with suitable powers of $\mathbb{R}_{>0}$, and show that it determines the classical motivic Milnor fibre. We also give precise formulae expressing how the introduced objects change under blowings-up. As an application, we show that the motivic Milnor fibre is well-defined as an element of a suitable Grothendieck ring without requiring that the Lefschetz motive be invertible.
