Abstract:We study the limit behavior of the solutions to energy-critical complex Ginzburg-Landau equation. We give a rigorous theory of the zero-dispersion limit from energy-critical complex Ginzburg-Landau equation to energy-critical nonlinear heat equation for dimensions 3 and 4 in both the defocusing and focusing cases by energy method. Furthermore, we also show the invisicid limit of energy-critical complex Ginzburg-Landau equation to energy-critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation for dimension 4 in the focusing case.

Abstract:In this article, we consider an energy-critical complex Ginzburg-Landau equation in the exterior of a smooth compact strictly convex obstacle. We prove the global well-posedness of energy-critical complex Ginzburg-Landau equation in an exterior domain by the concentration-compactness/rigidity theorem method. As corollaries of our main result, we establish both the existence of global weak solutions to energy-critical defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equations and the global well-posedness theory for energy-critical semi-linear heat equation in exterior domains.

Abstract:In this article, we study the long-time dynamics of threshold solutions for the focusing energy-critical inhomogeneous Schrödinger equation and classify the corresponding threshold solutions in dimensions $d=3,4,5$. We first show the existence of special threshold solutions $W^\pm$ by constructing a sequence of approximate solutions in suitable Lorentz space, which exponentially approach the ground state $W$ in one of the time directions. We then prove that solutions with threshold energy either behave as in the subthreshold case or agree with $W, W^+$ or $W^-$ up to the symmetries of the equation. The proof relies on detailed spectral analysis of the linearized Schrödinger operator, the relevant modulation analysis, the global Virial analysis, and the concentration compactness argument in the Lorentz space.

Abstract:In this paper, we study long time dynamics of radial threshold solutions for the focusing, generalized energy-critical Hartree equation and classify all radial threshold solutions. The main arguments are the spectral theory of the linearized operator, the modulational analysis and the concentration compactness rigidity argument developed by T. Duyckaerts and F. Merle to classify all threshold solutions for the energy critical NLS and NLW in \cite{DuyMerle:NLS:ThresholdSolution, DuyMerle:NLW:ThresholdSolution}, later by D. Li and X. Zhang in \cite{LiZh:NLS, LiZh:NLW} in higher dimensions. The new ingredient here is to solve the nondegeneracy of positive bubble solutions with nonlocal structure in $\dot H^1(\R^N)$ (i.e. the spectral assumption in \cite{MiaoWX:dynamic gHartree}) by the nondegeneracy result of positive bubble solution in $L^{\infty}(\R^N)$ in \cite{LLTX:Nondegeneracy} and the Moser iteration method in \cite{DiMeVald:book}, which is related to the spectral analysis of the linearized operator with nonlocal structure, and plays a key role in the construction of the special threshold solutions, and the classification of all threshold solutions.

Abstract:This research focuses on investigating an extended version of the Ginzburg–Landau (GL) equation that describes the motion of particles in a plasma. The other applications of this model can be found in optics, and other related fields. As part of our approach, we seek to discover some new wave solutions to the model, and then use the Galilean transformation in order to determine the model's dynamical properties. After that, we use planar dynamical system theory to perform an in-depth bifurcation analysis, which gives us valuable insight into the system. By conducting thorough mathematical and bifurcation analyses, we identify the fundamental dynamics and critical points that regulate the system's behavior. Moreover we explore the chaotic nature of the system, uncovering potential chaotic tendencies and their consequences. Further, we obtain several categories of optical solutions of the complex GL equation by utilizing new logarithmic transformations, offering valuable insight into its behavior and potential applications in optics. Our analytical technique yields closed-form solutions expressing elementary functions. In order to ensure the reliability of our findings, we rigorously validate the obtained solutions by substituting them back into the original model. Our research helps us better understand this equation's characteristics and its relevance across a wide range of disciplines.

Abstract:We study the fractional complex Ginzburg-Landau equation with periodic initial boundary value condition in three spatial dimensions. The problem is discretized fully by Fourier Galerkin spectral method. The dynamical behavior of the resulting discrete system is examined. The existence of a global attractor is established, and the corresponding convergence is proved through the error estimates of the discrete solution. Numerical stability and convergence of the discrete scheme are proved.

Abstract:A classical result in the study of Ginzburg-Landau equations is that, for Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions, if a sequence of functions has energy uniformly bounded on a logarithmic scale then we can find a subsequence whose Jacobians are convergent in suitable dual spaces and whose renormalized energy is at least the sum of absolute degrees of vortices. However, the corresponding question for the case of tangential or normal boundary conditions has not been considered. In addition, the question of convergence of up to the boundary is not very well understood. Here, we consider these questions for a bounded, connected, open set of $\mathbb{R}^{2}$ with $C^{2,1}$ boundary.

Abstract:We consider a Ginzburg-Landau-Maxwell model which describes the behavior of a two-dimensional superconducting material. The state variables are the complex-valued order parameter psi the magnetic potential (A) over cap A, and the electric potential F. Under the choice of Coulomb ( i.e., London) gauge, the resulting system is a parabolic-hyperbolic coupled system of nonlinear partial differential equations subject to suitable boundary and initial conditions. Global well-posedness results were proved in [ M. Tsutsumi and H. Kasai, Nonlinear Anal., 37 ( 1999), pp. 187-216], while the existence of global attractor and exponential attractors was proved in [ V. Berti and S. Gatti, Quart. Appl. Math., 64 2006), pp. 617-639]. In this paper we use an extended Lojasiewicz-Simon approach to show that for any initial datum in certain phase space, the corresponding global solution converges to an equilibrium as time goes to infinity. Besides, we also provide an estimate on the convergence rate with respect to the phase space metric.

Abstract:We examine the energy-critical nonlinear heat equation in critical spaces for any dimension greater or equal than three. The aim of this paper is two-fold. First, we establish a necessary and sufficient condition on initial data at or below the ground state that dichotomizes the behavior of solutions. Specifically, this criterion determines whether the solution will either exist globally with energy decaying to zero over time or blow up in finite time. Secondly, we derive the decay rate for solutions that exist globally. These results offer a comprehensive characterization of solution behavior for energy-critical conditions in higher-dimensional settings

Abstract:We study the Ginzburg-Landau equations on line bundles over non-compact Riemann surfaces with constant negative curvature. We prove existence of solutions with energy strictly less than that of the constant curvature (magnetic field) one. These solutions are the non-commutative generalizations of the Abrikosov vortex lattice of superconductivity. Conjecturally, they are (local) minimizers of the Ginzburg-Landau energy. We obtain precise asymptotic expansions of these solutions and their energies in terms of the curvature of the underlying Riemann surface. Among other things, our result shows the spontaneous breaking of the gauge-translational symmetry of the Ginzburg-Landau equations.

Abstract:A solution in the form of X-wave patterns of the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation with a harmonic background inhomogeneity is obtained. The pattern can be attributed to the effects of the harmonic potential and the boundary configuration and size. By varying the harmonic of the background potential, the competition among three types of wave patterns: spiral, X, and target, is investigated by following the evolution of the Fourier modes.

Abstract:We present a detailed analytical and numerical study of nonequilibrium dynamics for the complex Ginzburg-Landau (CGL) equation. In particular, we characterize evolution morphologies using spiral defects. This paper (referred to as $\rm I$) is the first in a two-stage exposition. Here, we present analytical results for the correlation function arising from a single-spiral morphology. We also critically examine the utility of the Gaussian auxiliary field (GAF) ansatz in characterizing a multi-spiral morphology. In the next paper of this exposition (referred to as $\rm II$), we will present detailed numerical results.
Global weak solution of 3-D focusing energy-critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation

Abstract:In this article, we prove the existence of global weak solutions to the three-dimensional focusing energy-critical nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation in the non-radial case. Furthermore, we prove the weak-strong uniqueness for some class of initial data. The main ingredient of our new approach is to use solutions of an energy-critical Ginzburg-Landau equation as approximations for the corresponding nonlinear Schördinger equation. In our proofs, we first show the dichotomy of global well-posedness versus finite time blow-up of energy-critical Ginzburg-Landau equation in $\dot{H}^1( \mathbb{R}^d)$ for $d = 3,4 $ when the energy is less than the energy of the stationary solution $W$. We follow the strategy of C. E. Kenig and F. Merle [25,26], using a concentration-compactness/rigidity argument to reduce the global well-posedness to the exclusion of a critical element. The critical element is ruled out by dissipation of the Ginzburg-Landau equation, including local smoothness, backwards uniqueness and unique continuation. The existence of global weak solution of the three dimensional focusing energy-critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the non-radial case then follows from the global well-posedness of the energy-critical Ginzburg-Landau equation via a limitation argument. We also adapt the arguments of M. Struwe [37,38] to prove the weak-strong uniqueness when the $\dot{H}^1$-norm of the initial data is bounded by a constant depending on the stationary solution $W$.

Abstract:The cubic complex Ginzburg-Landau equation is one of the most-studied nonlinear equations in the physics community. It describes a vast variety of phenomena from nonlinear waves to second-order phase transitions, from superconductivity, superfluidity and Bose-Einstein condensation to liquid crystals and strings in field theory. Our goal is to give an overview of various phenomena described the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation in one, two and three dimensions from the point of view of condensed matter physicists. Our approach is to study the relevant solutions to get an insight into nonequilibrium phenomena in spatially extended systems.

Abstract:The multi-order exact solutions of the two-dimensional complex Ginzburg–Landau equation are obtained by making use of the wave-packet theory. In these solutions, the zeroth-order exact solution is a plane wave, the first-order exact solutions are shock waves for the amplitude and spiral waves both between the amplitude and the shift of phase and between the shift of phase and the distance.
