Abstract:We study the limit behavior of the solutions to energy-critical complex Ginzburg-Landau equation. We give a rigorous theory of the zero-dispersion limit from energy-critical complex Ginzburg-Landau equation to energy-critical nonlinear heat equation for dimensions 3 and 4 in both the defocusing and focusing cases by energy method. Furthermore, we also show the invisicid limit of energy-critical complex Ginzburg-Landau equation to energy-critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation for dimension 4 in the focusing case.
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is the behavior of solutions of the energy - critical complex Ginzburg - Landau equation (CGL) in two limit cases in three - and four - dimensional spaces: the zero - dispersion limit and the inviscid limit. Specifically:
1. **Zero - dispersion limit**: When the parameter \(\theta\) approaches 0, the CGL equation approaches the energy - critical nonlinear heat equation (NLH). The author establishes a strict theory from CGL to NLH by the energy method and proves that under appropriate conditions, the solution \(v_{\theta}\) will converge to the solution \(u\) of NLH.
2. **Inviscid limit**: When \(|\theta|\) approaches \(\frac{\pi}{2}\), the CGL equation approaches the energy - critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS). In the focusing case in four - dimensional space, the author establishes the inviscid limit theory from CGL to NLS through the global well - posedness and scattering theory.
### Main results
- **Zero - dispersion limit**:
- Theorem 1.1: Let \(d = 3,4\), the initial data \(v_{0}^{\theta}\in H^{1}\) and \(u_{0}\in H^{2}\) satisfy \(\left\|v_{0}^{\theta}-u_{0}\right\|_{H^{1}}\leq\epsilon\), where \(\epsilon\) is a sufficiently small constant. In the focusing case, assume that \(\max\{E(v_{0}^{\theta}), E(u_{0})\}<E(W)\) and \(\max\{\left\|\nabla v_{0}^{\theta}\right\|_{L^{2}},\left\|\nabla u_{0}\right\|_{L^{2}}\}<\left\|\nabla W\right\|_{L^{2}}\). Then for any \(T\in(0,\epsilon^{2}\left|e^{i\theta}- 1\right|^{-2})\), the solutions \(v_{\theta}\) and \(u\) satisfy:
\[
\left\|v_{\theta}-u\right\|_{L_{t}^{\infty}H_{x}^{1}([0, T]\times\mathbb{R}^{d})}\leq C_{0}(\left\|v_{0}^{\theta}-u_{0}\right\|_{H^{1}}+\left|e^{i\theta}-1\right|(T^{1 / 2}+1)),
\]
where \(C_{0}\) depends only on \(v_{0}^{\theta}\) and \(u_{0}\).
- **Inviscid limit**:
- Theorem 1.2: Let \(d = 4\) and \(\mu=- 1\), the initial data \(v_{0}^{\theta}\in H^{1}\) and \(v_{0}\in H^{3}\) satisfy \(\left\|v_{0}^{\theta}-v_{0}\right\|_{H^{1}}\leq\epsilon\), where \(\epsilon\) is a sufficiently small constant. Assume that \(\max\{E(v_{0}^{\theta}), E(v_{0})\}<E(W)\) and \(\max\{\left\|\nabla v_{0}^{\theta}\right\|_{L^{2}},\left\|\nabla v_{0}\right\|_{L^{2}}\}<\left\|\nabla W\right\|_{L^{2}}\). Then for any \(T\in(0,\epsilon\left|e^{i\theta}-i\right|^{-1})\), the solutions \(v_{\theta}\) and \(v\) satisfy:
\[
\left\|v_{\theta}-v\right\|_{L_{t}^{\infty}H_{x}^{1}([0, T]\times\mathbb{R}^{d})}\leq C_{1}(\left\|v_{0}^{\theta}-v_{0}\right\|_{H^{1}}+\left|e^{i\theta}-i\right|(T + 1)),
\]
where \(C_{1}\) depends only on \(v_{0}^{\theta}\).
