Abstract:We describe old and prove new results on properties of the Fibonacci Lie algebra in a self-contained exposition. First, we study the growth of this algebra in more details. So, we show that the polynomial behaviour of the growth function in not uniform. We establish bounds on the growth of its universal enveloping algebra. We find bounds on nilpotency indices for elements of the Fibonacci restricted Lie algebra. We prove that the Fibonacci Lie algebra is not PI. Our approach is also based on geometric ideas. The Fibonacci Lie algebra is $\mathbb Z^2$-graded and its homogeneous components belong to a strip. We illustrate the results by computing the initial components and show positions of the homogeneous components in the strip. We also discuss properties and conjectures on related associative algebras and (restricted) Poisson algebras. Second, we prove infiniteness results on homology and Euler characteristic of arbitrary finitely generated graded Lie algebras of subexponential growth. In case of the Fibonacci Lie algebra, we find bounds on the homology groups and the Euler characteristic, and determine respective positions on plane. The computation of the initial part of the Euler characteristic of the Fibonacci Lie algebra shows that its behaviour is really chaotic. Finally, we formulate results and conjectures on homology groups and infinite presentation.

Abstract:In this paper, we study an infinite-dimensional Lie algebra B, called local area-preserving algebra for the Klein bottle and introduced by Pope and Romans. We show that B is a finitely generated simple Lie algebra with a unique (up to scalars) symmetric invariant bilinear form. The derivation algebra and the universal central extension of B are also determined.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the representations for the filiform Lie superalgebras Lm,n, a particular class of nilpotent Lie superalgebras. We determine the minimal dimension of a faithful module over Lm,n using the theory of linear algebra. In addition, using the method of Feingold and Frenkel (1985), we construct some finite and infinite dimensional modules over Lm,n on the Grassmann algebra and the mixed Clifford–Weyl algebra.

Abstract:The paper investigates relationship between algebraic expressions and graphs. We consider a digraph called a Fibonacci graph which gives a generic example of non-series-parallel graphs. Our intention in this paper is to simplify the expressions of Fibonacci graphs and eventually find their shortest representations. With that end in view, we describe the optimal decomposition method for generating Fibonacci graph expressions that is conjectured to provide these representations. Proof (or disproof) of this conjecture is presented as an open problem.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of infinite simple Lie conformal algebras associated to a class of generalized Block type Lie algebras. The central extensions by a one-dimensional center $\mathbb {C}\mathfrak {c}$ , conformal derivations and free intermediate series modules of this class of Lie conformal algebras are determined. Moreover, we also show that these Lie conformal algebras do not have any non-trivial finite conformal modules. Consequently, these Lie conformal algebras cannot be embedded into gcN for any positive integer N.

Abstract:The paper deals with the theoretical investigation of intrasubband plasmons in an array of quantum wires, consisting of a finite number of quantum wires, arranged at an equal distance from each other and placed into an external magnetic field. Two types of quantum wire array are under consideration: an ordered array of quantum wires with equal electron densities in all quantum wires and weakly disordered array of quantum wires, which is characterized by the fact that the density of electrons of one defect quantum wire was different from that of other quantum wires. For the ordered array of quantum wires, placed into the external magnetic field, the nonmonotonical dependence of plasmon frequency upon the 1D density of electrons in quantum wires is predicted. For high magnetic field the existence of 1D electron density ranges, in which plasmon modes do not exist, is shown. For the weakly disordered array of quantum wires the existence of the local plasmon modes, which properties differ from those of usual modes, is found. At high magnetic field the disappearance of the local plasmon modes at certain ranges of 1D electron density in defect quantum wire is shown.

Abstract: In this paper, we introduce a class of infinite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{B}(\alpha,\beta,p)$, which are the semi-direct sums of Block type Lie conformal algebra $\mathfrak{B}(p)$ and its non-trivial conformal modules of $\Z$-graded free intermediate series. The annihilation algebras are a class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, which include a lot of interesting subalgebras: Virasoro algebra, Block type Lie algebra, twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and so on. We give a complete classification of all finite non-trivial irreducible conformal modules of $\mathfrak{B}(\alpha,\beta,p)$ for $\alpha,\beta\in\C, p\in\C^*$. As an application, the classifications of finite irreducible conformal modules over a series of finite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{b}(n)$ for $n\geq1$ are given.

Abstract:The monogenic free inverse semigroup $FI_1$ is not finitely presented as a semigroup due to the classic result by Schein (1975). We extend this result and prove that a finitely generated subsemigroup of $FI_1$ is finitely presented if and only if it contains only finitely many idempotents. As a consequence, we derive that an inverse subsemigroup of $FI_1$ is finitely presented as a semigroup if and only if it is a finite semilattice.

Abstract:We provide general closed-form formulas for the index of type-A Lie poset algebras corresponding to posets of restricted height. Furthermore, we provide a combinatorial recipe for constructing all posets corresponding to type-A Frobenius Lie poset algebras of heights zero, one, and two. A finite Morse theory argument establishes that the simplicial realization of such posets is contractible. It then follows, from a recent theorem of Coll and Gerstenhaber, that the second Lie cohomology group of the corresponding Lie poset algebra with coefficients in itself is zero. Consequently, the Lie poset algebra is absolutely rigid and cannot be deformed. We also provide matrix representations for Lie poset algebras in the other classical types. By so doing, we are able to give examples of deformable Lie algebras which are both solvable and Frobenius. This resolves a question of Gerstenhaber and Giaquinto about the existence of such algebras.

The natural filtrations of infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebras of [math]-type over a field of positive characteristic are proved to be invariant under automorphisms by studying ad-nilpotent elements. We observe that two Lie superalgebras of [math]-type are isomorphic if and only if the integers in the definition of these Lie superalgebras are intrinsic. Thereby, all the Lie superalgebras of [math]-type are classified in the sense of isomorphism.

Abstract:In order to describe the appearance in F theory of the non--simply--laced Lie algebras, we use the representation of symmetry enhancements by means of string junctions. After an introduction to the techniques used to describe symmetry enhancement, that is algebraic geometry, BPS states analysis and string junctions, we concentrate on the latter. We give an explicit description of the folding of D_{2n} to B_n of the folding of E_6 to F_4 and that of D_4 to G_2 in terms of junctions and Jordan strings. We also discuss the case of C_n, but we are unable in this case to provide a string interpretation.

Abstract:For any we construct an infinite -generated Heyting algebra whose n-generated subalgebras are of cardinality for some positive integer . From this we conclude that for every there exists a variety of Heyting algebras which contains an infinite -generated algebra, but which contains only finite n-generated algebras. For the case this provides a negative answer to a question posed by G. Bezhanishvili and R. Grigolia in [4].
