Abstract:In this paper we briefly discuss some of our recent results in the study of moduli space of Riemann surfaces. It is naturally divided into two parts, one about the differential geometric aspect, another on the topological aspect of the moduli spaces. To understand the geometry of the moduli spaces we introduced new metrics, studied in detail all of the known classical complete metrics, especially the Kähler-Einstein metric. As a corollary we proved that the logarithmic cotangent bundle of the moduli space is strictly stable in the sense of Mumford. The topological results we obtained were motivated by conjectures from string theory. We will describe in this part our proofs by localization method of the Mariño-Vafa formula, its two partition analogue as well as the theory of topological vertex and the simple localization proofs of the ELSV formula and the Witten conjecture. The applications of these formulas in Gromov-Witten theory and string duality will also be mentioned.

Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.
The Relative Manin-Mumford Conjecture

Abstract:We prove the Relative Manin-Mumford Conjecture for families of abelian varieties in characteristic 0. We follow the Pila-Zannier method to study special point problems, and we use the Betti map which goes back to work of Masser and Zannier in the case of curves. The key new ingredients compared to previous applications of this approach are a height inequality proved by both authors of the current paper and Dimitrov, and the first-named author's study of certain degeneracy loci in subvarieties of abelian schemes. We also strengthen this result and prove a criterion for torsion points to be dense in a subvariety of an abelian scheme over $\mathbb{C}$. The Uniform Manin-Mumford Conjecture for curves embedded in their Jacobians was first proved by Kühne. We give a new proof, as a corollary to our main theorem, that does not use equidistribution.

Abstract:The Ramanujan conjecture for modular forms of holomorphic type was proved by Deligne almost half a century ago: the proof, based on his earlier proof of Weil's conjectures, was an achievement of algebraic geometry. Quite recently, we proved the conjecture in the case of Maass forms of the full unimodular group: we show here that the proof given in this case works in the holomorphic case as well.

Abstract:In this article, we study the topology and bifurcations of the moduli space M-3 of cubic Newton maps. It's a subspace of the moduli space of cubic rational maps, carrying the Riemann orbifold structure ((C)over-bar, (2, 3, infinity)).We prove two results: The boundary of the unique unbounded hyperbolic component is a Jordan arc and the boundaries of all other hyperbolic components are Jordan curves; The Head's angle map is surjective and monotone. The fibers of this map are characterized completely. The first result is a moduli space analogue of the first author's dynamical regularity theorem [37]. The second result confirms a conjecture of Tan Lei. (C) 2017 Published by Elsevier Inc.

Abstract:We continue the development of the theory of moduli of the families of surfaces, in particular, of strings of various dimensions m = 1 , 2 , . . . ,n − 1 in Euclidean spaces , n ≥ 2 On the basis of the proof of the lemma on the relationships between the moduli and Lebesgue measures, we prove the corresponding analog of the Fubini theorem in terms of moduli that extends the well-known Väisälä theorem for the families of curves to the families of surfaces of arbitrary dimensions. It should be emphasized that the crucial role in the proof of the mentioned lemma is played by a proposition on measurable (Borel) hulls of sets in Euclidean spaces. In addition, we also prove a similar lemma and a proposition for the families of concentric balls.

Abstract:In this short note, we provide an alternative proof of a notable theorem by Narasimhan and Ramanan. The theorem states that the moduli space of $S$-equivalence classes of semistable rank $2$ vector bundles over a curve $X$ of genus $2$ with trivial determinant is isomorphic to $\mathbb{P}^3$. Our proof relies on a criterion by Bauer and Szemberg, which characterizes projective spaces among smooth Fano varieties using Seshadri constants.

Abstract:The Green–Lazarsfeld secant conjecture predicts that the syzygies of a curve of sufficiently high degree are controlled by its special secants. We prove this conjecture for all curves of Clifford index at least two and not bielliptic and for all line bundles of a certain degree. Our proof is based on a classic result of Martens and Mumford on Brill–Noether varieties and on a simple vanishing criterion that comes from the interpretation of syzygies through symmetric products of curves.

Abstract:We give an explicit quotient construction of the supermoduli space $\mathfrak{M}_{0, n_R}$ of genus zero super Riemann surfaces with $n_R \ge 4$ Ramond punctures and prove it is a Deligne-Mumford superstack. We also make an explicit quotient construction of the moduli space of genus zero supercurves without a SUSY structure and thereby prove it is an algebraic superstack.

Abstract:We give a proof of Mukai's Theorem on the existence of certain exceptional vector bundles on prime Fano threefolds. To our knowledge this is the first complete proof in the literature. The result is essential for Mukai's biregular classification of prime Fano threefolds, and for the existence of semiorthogonal decompositions in their derived categories.

Abstract:We prove the Ramanujan and Sato-Tate conjectures for Bianchi modular forms of weight at least 2. More generally, we prove these conjectures for all regular algebraic cuspidal automorphic representations of $\mathrm{GL}_2(\mathbf{A}_F)$ of parallel weight, where $F$ is any CM field. We deduce these theorems from a new potential automorphy theorem for the symmetric powers of 2-dimensional compatible systems of Galois representations of parallel weight.

Abstract:We investigate nef and movable cones of hypersurfaces in Mori dream spaces. The first result is: Let $Z$ be a smooth Mori dream space of dimension at least four whose extremal contractions are of fiber type of relative dimension at least two and let $X$ be a smooth ample divisor in $Z$, then $X$ is a Mori dream space as well. The second result is: Let $Z$ be a Fano manifold of dimension at least four whose extremal contractions are of fiber type and let $X$ be a smooth anti-canonical hypersurface in $Z$, which is a smooth Calabi--Yau variety, then the unique minimal model of $X$ up to isomorphism is $X$ itself, and moreover, the movable cone conjecture holds for $X$, namely, there exists a rational polyhedral cone which is a fundamental domain for the action of birational automorphisms on the effective movable cone of $X$. The third result is: Let $P:= \mathbb{P}^n \times \cdots \times \mathbb{P}^n$ be the $N$-fold self-product of the $n$-dimensional projective space. Let $X$ be a general complete intersection of $n+1$ hypersurfaces of multidegree $(1, \dots, 1)$ in $P$ with $\dim X \geq 3$. Then $X$ has only finitely many minimal models up to isomorphism, and moreover, the movable cone conjecture holds for $X$.

Abstract:It is a folklore theorem that the Kuranishi slice method can be used to construct the moduli space of semistable Higgs bundles on a closed Riemann surface as a complex space. The purpose of this paper is to provide a proof in detail. We also give a direct proof that the moduli space is locally modeled on an affine GIT quotient of a quadratic cone by a complex reductive group.

Abstract:Consider a smooth, projective family of canonically polarized varieties over a smooth, quasi-projective base manifold Y, all defined over the complex numbers. It has been conjectured that the family is necessarily isotrivial if Y is special in the sense of Campana. We prove the conjecture when Y is a surface or threefold. The proof uses sheaves of symmetric differentials associated to fractional boundary divisors on log canonical spaces, as introduced by Campana in his theory of Orbifoldes Geometriques. We discuss a weak variant of the Harder-Narasimhan Filtration and prove a version of the Bogomolov-Sommese Vanishing Theorem that take the additional fractional positivity along the boundary into account. A brief, but self-contained introduction to Campana's theory is included for the reader's convenience.
