Abstract:Let S(x; a_1/q_1, a_2/q_2)=∑'_mn≤ xcos(2π ma_1/q_1)sin(2π na_2/q_2) with x≥ q_1q_2, 1≤ a_i≤ q_i, and (a_i, q_i)=1 (i=1, 2). We study the sign changes of S(x; a_1/q_1, a_2/q_2), and prove that for a sufficiently large constant C, S(x; a_1/q_1, a_2/q_2) changes sign in the interval [T,T+C√(T)] for any large T. Meanwhile, we show that for a small constant c', there exist infinitely many subintervals of length c'√(T)log^-7T in [T,2T] where ± S(t; a_1/q_1, a_2/q_2)> c_5 (q_1q_2)^3/4t^1/4 always holds.

Abstract:For any positive integer $n$, let $\sigma (n)$ be the sum of all positive divisors of $n.$ In this paper, it is proved that for every integer $ 1\leq k\leq 29,\ (k,30)=1, $ we have $$\sum_{n\leq K}\sigma(30n)>\sum_{n\leq K}\sigma(30n+k)$$ for all $K\in \mathbb{N},$ which gives a positive answer to a problem posed by Pongsriiam recently.

Abstract: Let $d(n; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$ be the number of factorization $n=n_1n_2$ satisfying $n_i\equiv r_i\pmod{q_i}$ ($i=1,2$) and $\Delta(x; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$ be the error term of the summatory function of $d(n; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$ with $x\geq (q_1q_2)^{1+\varepsilon}, 1\leq r_i\leq q_i$, and $(r_i, q_i)=1$ ($i=1, 2$). We study the power moments and sign changes of $\Delta(x; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$, and prove that for a sufficiently large constant $C$, $\Delta(q_1q_2x; r_1, q_1, r_2, q_2)$ changes sign in the interval $[T,T+C\sqrt{T}]$ for any large $T$. Abstract:For any positive integer $n$, let $\sigma (n)$ be the sum of all positive divisors of $n.$ In this paper, it is proved that the set of positive integers $ n $ for which $ \sigma(30n+1)\geq \sigma(30n) $ has a density less than $ 0.0371813, $ which answers a recent problem of Pongsriiam in part.

Abstract:We consider a variety of Euler’s sum of powers conjecture, i.e., whether the Diophantine system $$\left\{{\matrix{{n = {a_1} + {a_2} + \ldots + {a_{s - 1}},} \hfill \cr {{a_1}{a_2} \ldots {a_{s - 1}}({a_1} + {a_2} + \ldots + {a_{s - 1}}) = {b^s}} \hfill \cr}} \right.$$ has positive integer or rational solutions n, b, aj, i = 1, 2, …, s − 1, s ⩾ 3. Using the theory of elliptic curves, we prove that it has no positive integer solution for s = 3, but there are infinitely many positive integers n such that it has a positive integer solution for s ⩾ 4. As a corollary, for s ⩾ 4 and any positive integer n, the above Diophantine system has a positive rational solution. Meanwhile, we give conditions such that it has infinitely many positive rational solutions for s ⩾ 4 and a fixed positive integer n.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider two particular binomial sums [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] which are inspired by two series for [Formula: see text] obtained by Guillera. We consider their divisibility properties and prove that they are divisible by [Formula: see text] for all integers [Formula: see text]. These divisibility properties are stronger than those divisibility results found by He, who proved the above two sums are divisible by [Formula: see text] with the WZ-method.

Abstract:Let p be an odd prime. In this paper, analogs of Wilson?s and Wolstenholme?s theorems on the solution sets S+ = {n ? Z* p | n ? a + b ? ab (mod p)} and S? = {n ? Z* p | n ? a ? b ? ab (mod p)} are given, where Z* p denote a reduced residue system modulo p. We also establish congruences about sum and product of the quadratic residues in S+ or in S? modulo p. Sign changes of short character sums and real zeros of Fekete polynomials

Abstract:We discuss a general approach producing quantitative bounds on the number of sign changes of the weighted sums $$\sum_{n\le x}f(n)w_n$$ where $f:\mathbb{N}\to \mathbb{R}$ is a family of multiplicative functions and $w_n\in\mathbb{R}$ are certain <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://weights.As" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> a consequence, we show that for a typical fundamental discriminant $D,$ the partial sums of the real character $\chi_D$ change sign $\gg (\log\log D)/\log\log\log \log D$ times on very short initial interval (which goes beyond the range in Vinogradov's conjecture). We also prove that the number of real zeros (localized away from $1$) of the Fekete polynomial associated to a typical fundamental discriminant $D$ is $\gg \frac{\log\log D}{\log\log\log\log D}.$ This comes close to establishing a conjecture of Baker and Montgomery which predicts $\asymp \log \log D$ real zeros. Finally, the same approach shows that almost surely for large $x\ge 1$, the partial sums $\sum_{n\le y}f(n)$ of a (Rademacher) random multiplicative function exhibit $\gg \log \log x/\log \log\log\log x$ sign changes on the interval $[1,x].$ These results rely crucially on uniform quantitative estimates for the joint distribution of $-\frac{L'}{L}(s, \chi_D)$ at several points $s$ in the vicinity of the central point $s=1/2$, as well as concentration results for $\log L(s,\chi_D)$ in the same range, which we establish. In the second part of the paper, we obtain, for large families of discriminants, ``non-trivial" upper bounds on the number of real zeros of Fekete polynomials, breaking the square root bound. Finally, we construct families of discriminants with associated Fekete polynomials having no zeros away from $1.$

We prove the existence of a sign-changing solution with exactly two nodal domain for an arbitrary smooth bounded domain . When is a ball, we also construct infinitely many radial sign-changing solutions with alternating signs and prescribed nodal characteristic.

Abstract:In this short, we study sums of the shape $\sum_{n\leqslant x}{f([x/n])}/{[x/n]},$ where $f$ is Euler totient function $\varphi$, Dedekind function $\Psi$, sum-of-divisors function $\sigma$ or the alternating sum-of-divisors function $\beta.$ We improve previous results when $f=\varphi$ and derive new estimates when $f=\Psi, f=\sigma$ and $f=\beta.$

Abstract:Some parameter-depending linking theorems are established, which allow to produce a bounded and sign-changing Palais–Smale sequence. For even functionals, a parameter-depending fountain theorem is obtained which provides infinitely many bounded and sign-changing Palais–Smale sequences. A variant mountain pass theorem is built in cones which yields bounded, positive and negative Palais–Smale sequences. The usual Palais–Smale type compactness condition and its variants are completely not necessary for these theories. More exact locations of the critical sequences can be determined. The abstract results are applied to the Schrödinger equation with (or without) critical Sobolev exponents:−Δu+V(x)u=β|u|2*−2u+f(x,u),x∈RN,β⩾0, where 2* is the critical Sobolev exponent. The existence of (multiple) sign-changing solutions is obtained. The positive and negative solutions are also gained as by-products. We will also show that this Schrödinger problem with jumping nonlinearity is independent of the Fučík spectrum.

Together with the manual binary number division, the true code addition and subtraction alternating bit-division algorithm and complement code addition and subtraction alternating bit-division algorithm are discussed to explore the rule. The conclusion is drawn that the remainder sign is determined by the dividend both in the fixed-point true code bit-division and complement code bit-division operation.

Abstract:Recently, the explicit evaluation of Gauss sums in the index 2 and 4 cases have been given in several papers (see [2,3,7,8]). In the course of evaluation, the sigh (or unit root) ambiguities are unavoidably occurred. This paper presents another method, different from [7] and [8], to determine the sigh (unit root) ambiguities of Gauss sums in the index 2 case, as well as the ones with odd order in the non-cyclic index 4 case. And we note that the method in this paper are more succinct and effective than [8] and [7].
