Abstract:In this paper, for the $n$-dimensional Euclidean space $\Bbb R^n$ with the usual metric and $n\geq2$, we show that the sublinear Higson corona of $\Bbb R^n$ is not locally connected at any point and is mutually aposyndetic.

Abstract:This paper discusses properties of the Higson corona by means of a quotient on coarse ultrafilters on a proper metric space. We use this description to show that the corona functor is faithful. This study provides a Künneth formula for twisted coarse cohomology. We obtain the Gromov boundary of a hyperbolic proper geodesic metric space as a quotient of its Higson corona.

Abstract:In this article, we give a complete description of the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors of the distance matrix and the distance signless Laplacian matrix of corona of two graphs and (denoted by ), when is connected transmission regular and is regular. Further, when is connected transmission regular, we give a complete description of the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of the distance Laplacian matrix of for any graph . As an application, we find families of distance, distance Laplacian and distance signless Laplacian cospectral nonisomorphic graphs.

The spectrum of the Corona of Hypergraphs

Abstract:The corona of hypergraphs is an extension of the corona operation applied to graphs. The corona $G_0^* \odot_1^n G_1^*$ of two hypergraphs is obtained by taking $n$ copies of $G_1^*$ (where $n$ is the order of $G_0^*$) and by joining the $i$-th vertex of $G_0^*$ with the $i$-th copy of $G_1^*$. In this paper, we estimate the complete spectrum(adjacency and Seidel) and eigenvectors of the corona $G_0^* \odot_1^n G_1^*$ of two hypergraphs when $G_1^*$ is regular. Additionally, we define the corona hypergraph $G_0^{*(m)}=G_0^{*(m-1)} \odot_1^n G_0^*$ and determined its adjacency spectrum. Also, we extend the definition coronal of the adjacency matrix. Moreover, we estimate the characteristic polynomial of Seidel matrix of the generalised corona of hypergraphs. Applying these results, we obtain infinitely many non-regular non-isomorphic adjacency and Seidel cospectral hypergraphs.

Abstract:To a metric space X we associate a compact topological space called the corona of X . Then a coarse map between metric spaces is mapped to a continuous map between coronas. Sheaf cohomology assigned to a coarse metric space is preserved and reflected by the corona functor. This work reveals new tools to analyze the Higson corona.

Abstract:In this paper we consider certain closed subvarieties of the flag variety, known as Hessenberg varieties. These varieties arise in representation theory, algebraic geometry, and combinatorics. We give a connectedness criterion for semisimple Hessenberg varieties that generalizes a criterion given by Anderson and Tymoczko. It also generalizes results of Iveson in type A which prove that all Hessenberg varieties satisfying this criterion are connected. We then show that nilpotent Hessenberg varieties are rationally connected.

Abstract:This paper is a continuation of the work done in \cite{sal-yas} and \cite{may-pat-rob}. We deal with the Vietoris hyperspace of all nontrivial convergent sequences $\mathcal{S}_c(X)$ of a space $X$. We answer some questions in \cite{sal-yas} and generalize several results in \cite{may-pat-rob}. We prove that: The connectedness of $X$ implies the connectedness of $\mathcal{S}_c(X)$; the local connectedness of $X$ is equivalent to the local connectedness of $\mathcal{S}_c(X)$; and the path-wise connectedness of $\mathcal{S}_c(X)$ implies the path-wise connectedness of $X$. We also show that the space of nontrivial convergent sequences on the Warsaw circle has $\mathfrak{c}$-many path-wise connected components, and provide a dendroid with the same property.

Abstract:We study the connectedness locus $\mathcal{N}$ for the family of iterated function systems of pairs of homogeneous affine-linear maps in the plane. We prove this set is regular closed (i.e., it is the closure of its interior) away from the diagonal, except possibly for isolated points, which we conjecture do not exist. We provide an overview of the "method of traps", introduced by Calegari et al. (2017), which lies at the heart of our proof.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce some versions of relative connectedness of subspaces of a topological space and we give some facts and relations among them. We prove that these relative versions satisfy some of the classical properties of connectedness. Additionally, we apply our results to the theory of hyperspaces, aiming to address a general problem posed by Arhangel'skii (Comment Math Univ Carolin 36:305–325, 1995, Problem 3).

Abstract:We study the non-klt locus of singularities of pairs. We show that given a pair $(X,B)$ and a projective morphism $X\to Z$ with connected fibres such that $-(K_X+B)$ is nef over $Z$, the non-klt locus of $(X,B)$ has at most two connected components near each fibre of $X\to Z$. This was conjectured by Hacon and Han. In a different direction we answer a question of Mark Gross on connectedness of the non-klt loci of certain pairs. This is motivated by constructions in Mirror Symmetry.
On the Geometry of Conullity Two Manifolds

Abstract:If $\Gamma$ is the nullity space of the curvature tensor of a Riemannian manifold $M^n$, it is well known that if its dimension is constant and if $M^n$ is complete then the distribution $\Gamma$ is completely integrable with flat leaves. The case of $\dim \Gamma = n-2$ are the so called conullity two manifolds which naturally arise in various geometric contexts. The obstruction to the metric splitting isometrically is a 2x2 matrix which is either nilpotent or invertible. We study the case where it is nilpotent, or equivalently where the scalar curvature is constant along the leaves of $\Gamma$. When $M^n$ is locally irreducible we show that $M^n$ admits a Lipschitz foliation $F$ by totally geodesic flat hyperplanes and determine the metric on a naturally defined open dense subset in terms of $n-1$ functions, uniquely determined up to isometry. We can also find examples of smooth complete metrics of conullity two where the foliation $F$ is smooth only on the complement of a Cantor set. We furthermore show that the fundamental group is either trivial or infinite cyclic.

Abstract:For any compact connected submanifold $K$ of $\mathbb{R}^n$, let $\Lambda_K$ denote its unit conormal bundle, which is a Legendrian submanifold of the unit cotangent bundle of $\mathbb{R}^n$. In this paper, we give examples of pairs $(K_0,K_1)$ of compact connected submanifolds of $\mathbb{R}^n$ such that $\Lambda_{K_0}$ is not Legendrian isotopic to $\Lambda_{K_1}$, although they cannot be distinguished by classical invariants. Here, $K_1$ is the image of an embedding $\iota_f \colon K_0 \to \mathbb{R}^n$ which is regular homotopic to the inclusion map of $K_0$ and the codimension in $\mathbb{R}^n$ is greater than or equal to $4$. As non-classical invariants, we define the strip Legendrian contact homology and a coproduct on it under certain conditions on Legendrian submanifolds. Then, we give a purely topological description of these invariants for $\Lambda_K$ when the codimension of $K$ is greater than or equal to $4$. The main examples $\Lambda_{K_0}$ and $\Lambda_{K_1}$ are distinguished by the coproduct, which is computed by using an idea of string topology.

Abstract:Let $f: M \to M$ denote a diffeomorphism of a smooth manifold $M$. Let $p$ in $M$ be its hyperbolic fixed point with stable and unstable manifolds $W_S$ and $W_U$, respectively. Assume that $W_S$ is a curve. Suppose that $W_U$ and $W_S$ have a degenerate homoclinic crossing at a point $B\ne p$, i.e., they cross at $B$ tangentially with a finite order of contact. It is shown that, subject to $C^1$-linearizability and certain conditions on the invariant manifolds, a transverse homoclinic crossing will arise arbitrarily close to $B$. This proves the existence of a horseshoe structure arbitrarily close to $B$, and extends a similar planar result of Homburg and Weiss.

Abstract:Let $\mathbb{T}$ be the unit circle and $\Gamma \backslash G$ the $3$-dimensional Heisenberg nilmanifold. We prove that a class of skew products on $\mathbb{T} \times \Gamma \backslash G$ are distal, and that the Möbius function is linearly disjoint from these skew products. This verifies the Möbius Disjointness Conjecture of Sarnak.

Abstract:The corona problem was motivated by the question of the density of the open unit disc in the maximal ideal space of the algebra of bounded holomorphic functions on the unit disc. The corona problem connects operator theory, function theory, and geometry. It has been studied by different scholars in different contexts and found to be an important part of classical function theory, and of modern harmonic analysis. In this paper we give a new proof of the corona theorem based on Bezout formulation of the corona problem. The main feature of this method sheds light on how to extend from complex one variable to complex several variables.
