Abstract:In the present work, considering critical gravity as a gravity model, an electrically charged topological Anti-de Sitter black hole with a matter source characterized by a nonlinear electrodynamics framework is obtained. This configuration is defined by an integration constant, three key structural constants, and a constant that represents the topology of the event horizon. Additionally, based on the Wald formalism, we probe that this configuration enjoys non-trivial thermodynamic quantities, establishing the corresponding first law of black hole thermodynamics, as well as local stability under thermal and electrical fluctuations. Additionally, via the Gibbs free energy we note that the topology of the base manifold allows us to compare this charged configuration with respect to the thermal AdS space-time, allowing us to obtain a first-order phase transition. The quasinormal modes and the greybody factor are also calculated by considering the spherical situation. We found that the quasinormal modes exhibit a straightforward change for variations of one of the structural constants.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on the following aspects: 1. **Exploring charged topological anti - de Sitter black holes in four - dimensional critical gravity**: - By introducing the framework of nonlinear electrodynamics, the author constructs a charged topological anti - de Sitter black hole configuration defined by an integration constant, three key structure constants, and a constant representing the topology of the event horizon. 2. **Studying the thermodynamic properties of these black hole configurations**: - Based on Wald formalism, the author proves that these configurations have non - trivial thermodynamic quantities and establishes the corresponding first law of black hole thermodynamics. In addition, the local stability of these black holes under thermal and electrical fluctuations is also explored. - Through Gibbs free energy, the author analyzes how the topological structure of the base manifold allows this charged configuration to be compared with thermal anti - de Sitter spacetime, thereby obtaining a first - order phase transition. 3. **Calculating quasinormal modes (QNMs) and greybody factors**: - The author considers quasinormal modes and greybody factors in the spherically symmetric case. Research shows that when one of the structure constants changes, the quasinormal modes show a direct change. ### Specific problem analysis #### 1. Construction of black hole configurations - **Nonlinear electrodynamics**: The author uses the framework of nonlinear electrodynamics to describe the matter source, which enables the black hole configuration to support non - zero thermodynamic properties. - **Key parameters**: The black hole configuration is defined by an integration constant, three key structure constants, and a constant representing the topology of the event horizon. #### 2. Study of thermodynamic properties - **Wald formalism**: Through Wald formalism, the author derives the thermodynamic quantities of black holes, including mass \( M \), entropy \( S \) and electric charge \( Q_e \). - **Local stability**: The local stability of these black holes under thermal and electrical fluctuations is studied, which is characterized by specific heat \( C_{\Phi_e} \) and permittivity \( \epsilon_T \). - **Phase transition**: Through Gibbs free energy \( G \), the author discovers a first - order phase transition, especially in the spherically symmetric case, phase transitions occur under certain specific relationships. #### 3. Calculation of quasinormal modes and greybody factors - **Quasinormal modes**: Through the finite element method and the pseudospectral method, the author calculates the quasinormal modes of black holes. Research shows that the frequency and attenuation rate of quasinormal modes depend on the parameters of black holes. - **Greybody factors**: Greybody factors describe the modified form of the radiation spectrum due to strong gravitational effects. By calculating greybody factors, the radiation characteristics of black holes can be better understood. ### Summary The main objective of this paper is to construct and study the thermodynamic properties and quasinormal modes of four - dimensional charged topological anti - de Sitter black holes by combining critical gravity theory and nonlinear electrodynamics. The research results not only provide new insights into black hole thermodynamics, but also lay the foundation for further exploration of quantum effects and gravitational theories.
