What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is how to improve oil recovery efficiency through the use of nanoemulsion (NE) in oil extraction. Specifically, the research aims to develop a nanoemulsion stabilized by amphiphilic copolymer, non - ionic surfactant (Brij30) and modified LAPONITE® RD for enhanced oil recovery (EOR). This nanoemulsion is prepared by the phase inversion composition (PIC) method, has good long - term stability and thermal stability, and its average particle size is less than 60 nanometers. The experimental results show that in the artificial sandstone core displacement experiment, the use of this nanoemulsion for displacement can significantly improve the crude oil recovery rate, which is about 23.53% higher than that of water flooding. Therefore, this research provides a new and effective method for improving oil recovery rate.
