Abstract:In this paper, we study the regularity of convex solutions to the Dirichlet problem of the homogeneous Monge-Ampere equation det D(2)u = 0. We prove that if the domain is a strip region and the boundary functions are locally uniformly convex and C-k+2,C-alpha smooth, then the solution is C-k+2,C-alpha smooth up to boundary. By an example, we show the solution may fail to be C-2 smooth if boundary functions are not locally uniformly convex. Similar results have also been obtained for the Dirichlet problem on bounded convex domains.

Abstract:We study the asymptotics of complete Kaehler-Einstein metrics on strictly pseudoconvex domains in C^n and derive a convergence theorem for solutions to the corresponding Monge-Ampere equation. If only a portion of the boundary is analytic, the solutions satisfy Gevrey type estimates for tangential derivatives. A counterexample for the model linearized equation suggests that there is no local convergence theorem for the complex Monge-Ampere equation

Abstract:We study asymptotic behaviors of solutions to the LoewnerNirenberg problem in finite cones and establish optimal asymptotic expansions in terms of the corresponding solutions in infinite cones. The spherical domains over which cones are formed are allowed to have singularities. An elliptic operator on such spherical domains with coefficients singular on the boundary plays an important role. Due to the singularity of the spherical domains, extra care is needed for the study of the global regularity of the eigenfunctions and solutions of the associated singular Dirichlet problem. Abstract:We study the exact effect of the anisotropic convexity of domains on the boundary estimate for two Monge-Ampère Equations: one is singular which is from the proper affine hyperspheres with constant mean curvature; the other is degenerate which is from the Monge-Ampère eigenvalue problem. As a result, we obtain the sharp boundary boundary estimates and the optimal global Hölder regularity for the two equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish convergence rate estimates for convex solutions to the Dirichlet problem of the Monge-Ampere equation det D(2)u = f in Omega, where f is a positive and continuous function and Omega is a bounded convex domain in the Euclidean space R-n. We approximate the solution u by a sequence of convex polyhedra v(h) , which are generalized solutions to the Monge- Ampere equation in the sense of Aleksandrov, and the associated Monge-Ampere measures nu(h) are supported on a properly chosen grid in Omega. We will derive the convergence rate estimates for the cases when f is smooth, Holder continuous, and merely continuous.

Abstract:We prove the convergence of a damped Newton's method for the nonlinear system resulting from a discretization of the second boundary value problem for the Monge-Ampere equation. The boundary condition is enforced through the use of the notion of asymptotic cone. The differential operator is discretized based on a discrete analogue of the subdifferential.

Abstract:We present an explicit pluripotential and viscosity solution to the complex Monge-Ampère equation with constant right-hand side on $\mathbb D\times\mathbb C^{n-1}\,(n\geq 2)$, which lies merely in $W^{1,2}_{loc}\cap W^{2,1}_{loc}$ and is not even Dini continuous. Additionally, we exhibit two families of explicit entire toric solutions on $\mathbb C^n$ with continuous Hölder exponent $\alpha\in(0,1)$ and $W^{2,p}_{loc}$ exponent $p\in (1,2)$.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Dirichlet problem for a singular Monge-Ampère type equation on unbounded domains. For a few special kinds of unbounded convex domains, we find the explicit formulas of the solutions to the problem. For general unbounded convex domain Ω, we prove the existence for solutions to the problem in the space C∞(Ω) ∩ C(Ω̅). We also obtain the local C1/2-estimate up to the ∂Ω and the estimate for the lower bound of the solutions.

Abstract:In the category of metrics with conical singularities along a smooth divisor with angle in (0, 2 pi), we show that locally defined weak solutions (C-1,C-1 solutions) to the Kahler-Einstein equations actually possess maximum regularity, which means the metrics arc actually Wilder continuous in the singular polar coordinates. This shows the weak Kahler-Einstein metrics constructed by Guenancia-Paun, and independently by Yao, are all actually strong-conical Kahler-Einstein metrics. The key step is to establish a Liouville-type theorem for weak-conical Kahler-Ricci flat metrics defined over C-n, which depends on a Calderon-Zygmund theory in the conical setting. The regularity of globally defined weak-conical Kahler-Einstein metrics is already proved by Guenancia-Paun using a different method.

Abstract:In this article we consider the complex Monge–Ampère equation with infinite boundary value in bounded pseudoconvex domains. We prove the existence of strictly plurisubharmonic solution to the problem in convex domains under suitable growth conditions. We also obtain, for general pseudoconvex domains, some nonexistence results which show that these growth conditions are nearly optimal.
