Abstract:In the following work we will introduce and discuss in detail a particular model of complex $\kappa$-deformed scalar field, whose behaviour under C, P , T transformation is particularly transparent from both a formal and phenomenological point of view. We will begin by introducing the key mathematical structure at the basis of our investigation, namely the $\kappa$-Poincaré (Hopf) algebra and the $\kappa$-Minkowski spacetime. We will then investigate the behaviour of general two-particle states under deformed boost. After this we will introduce the action of our $\kappa$-deformed complex scalar field. From it, we will derive the equations of motion, as well as the Noether charges due to the continuous symmetries. The peculiar features of $\kappa$-deformation in general, and of our model in particular, allow for very non-trivial interaction between discrete and continuous symmetries, of which we will investigate the phenomenological consequences (particularly in terms of difference of lifetime of decaying particles). To conclude, we will obtain the $\kappa$-deformed propagator of the $\kappa$-deformed complex scalar field, and the imaginary part of the 1-loop contribution to it, ending with additional phenomenological consequences. The third chapter is new, unpublished work.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to explore the behavior of κ - deformed scalar fields in κ - Minkowski spacetime, as well as their associated symmetries and physical phenomena. Specifically, the author Andrea Bevilacqua studies the behavior of a particular complex κ - deformed scalar field model under C (charge conjugation), P (parity), and T (time - reversal) transformations by introducing and discussing it in detail. The following are the main problems and objectives of this paper: 1. **Introducing Mathematical Structures**: - Introduce the basic mathematical structures of κ - Poincaré (Hopf) algebra and κ - Minkowski spacetime. - These structures provide a theoretical framework for understanding κ - deformation. 2. **Behavior of Two - Particle States**: - Study the behavior of general two - particle states under deformed boost (deformed Lorentz transformation). - Explore the characteristics of these states under different transformations. 3. **Action and Equations of Motion**: - Introduce the action of κ - deformed complex scalar fields. - Derive the equations of motion and Noether charges generated by continuous symmetries from this action. 4. **Interaction between Discrete and Continuous Symmetries**: - Study the non - trivial interaction between discrete symmetries (such as C, P, T) and continuous symmetries in κ - deformation. - Explore the physical consequences of these interactions, especially phenomena such as differences in the lifetimes of decaying particles. 5. **Propagators and Loop Diagram Corrections**: - Calculate the propagators of κ - deformed complex scalar fields. - Calculate the imaginary part of the 1 - loop correction of the propagator and explore its physical meaning and possible experimental verification. In summary, this paper aims to gain a deep understanding of the behavior of scalar fields in κ - Minkowski spacetime through the κ - deformation framework, reveal new physical phenomena, and explore the possibility of experimental verification of these phenomena. This research not only contributes to the development of theoretical physics but may also provide new perspectives and methods for the study of quantum gravity effects. Formulas involved, such as the κ - deformed dispersion relation: \[ C_\kappa(k) = - 4\kappa^2 \sinh^2\left(\frac{k_0}{2\kappa}\right)+k^2 e^{k_0/\kappa} \] And the co - product rule of the κ - deformed Poincaré Hopf algebra: \[ \Delta k_i = k_i\otimes1 + e^{-k_0/\kappa}\otimes k_i,\quad\Delta k_0 = k_0\otimes1 + 1\otimes k_0 \] These formulas show how κ - deformation affects fundamental physical quantities and symmetries.
