Abstract:Let R⋉M be a trivial extension of a ring R by an R - R -bimodule M . We first describe explicitly the structure of a dual module over R⋉M . Then we characterize Mittag-Leffler modules and f -projective modules over R × M . Finally, we investigate when R⋉M is a left Π-coherent ring. In addition, some applications are given in formal triangular matrix rings.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish the global analogues of some dualities and equivalences in local algebra by developing the theory of relative Cohen-Macaulay modules. Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring (not necessarily local) with identity and a a proper ideal of R. The notions of a-relative dualizing modules and a-relative big Cohen-Macaulay modules are introduced. With the help of a-relative dualizing modules, we establish the global analogue of the duality on the subcategory of Cohen-Macaulay modules in local algebra. Lastly, we investigate the behavior of the subcategory of a-relative Cohen-Macaulay modules and a-relative generalized Cohen-Macaulay modules under Foxby equivalence.

Abstract:We study Morita equivalence and Morita duality for rings with local units. We extend Auslander's results on the theory of Morita equivalence and the Azumaya–Morita duality theorem to rings with local units. As a consequence, we give a version of Morita theorem and Azumaya–Morita duality theorem over rings with local units in terms of their full subcategory of finitely generated projective unitary modules and full subcategory of finitely generated injective unitary modules.

In this paper, we find out close relationships between the module M being embedded in a module of projective dimension at most n and the ( n + 1 ) -torsionfreeness of the nth syzygy of M. As an application, when R is local with residue field k, we compute the dimensions as k-vector spaces of Ext modules related to syzygies of k.

Abstract:In this paper, we aim to obtain some results under the condition that the dual of a module has finite Gorenstein dimension. In this direction we derive results involving vanishing of Ext as well as the freeness or totally reflexivity of modules. For instance, we provide a generalization of a celebrated theorem by Evans and Griffith, obtain criteria for the totally reflexivity of modules over Cohen-Macaulay rings as well as of locally totally modules reflexive on the punctured spectrum, and recover a result by Araya. Moreover, we prove that the Auslander-Reiten conjecture holds true for all finitely generated modules $M$ over a Noetherian local ring $R$ such that $\operatorname{G-dim}_R(\operatorname{Hom}_R(M,R))<\infty$ and $\operatorname{pd}_R(\operatorname{Hom}_R(M,M))<\infty$. Additionally, we derive Gorenstein criteria under the condition that the dual of certain modules is of finite Gorenstein dimension. Furthermore, we explore some applications in the theory of the modules of Kähler differentials of order $n\geq 1$, specifically concerning the $k$-torsionfreeness of these modules and the Herzog-Vasconcelos's conjecture.

Abstract:Let $R\ltimes M$ be a trivial extension of a ring $R$ by an $R$-$R$-bimodule $M$. We first study how to construct torsion pairs over $R\ltimes M$ from torsion pairs over $R$. Some characterizations of finitely generated (presented) modules, flat modules and coherent rings relative to a torsion pair over $R\ltimes M$ are obtained. Then we discuss the transfers of torsion pairs over $R\ltimes M$ to $R$. Finally, some applications are given in Morita context rings.

Abstract:Let A be a noetherian local commutative ring and let M be a suitable complex of A-modules. This paper proves that M is a dualizing complex for A if and only if the trivial extension A \ltimes M is a Gorenstein Differential Graded Algebra. As a corollary follows that A has a dualizing complex if and only if it is a quotient of a Gorenstein local Differential Graded Algebra.

Abstract:In this paper we treat Grothendieck Duality for noetherian rings via rigid dualizing complexes. In particular, we prove that every ring, essentially finite type over a regular base ring, has a unique rigid dualizing complex. The rigid dualizing complexes have strong functorial properties, allowing us to construct the twisted induction pseudofunctor, which is our ring-theoretic version of the twisted inverse pseudofunctor $f^{!}$. This is the first article of a bigger project, whose final goal is establishing Grothendieck Duality, including global duality for proper maps, for Deligne-Mumford stacks.

On Nil-semicommutative Modules

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a new concept in Nil-semicommutative modules and present it as an extension of Nil-semicommutative rings to modules. We prove that the class of Nil-semicommutative modules is contained in the class of Weakly semicommutative modules while that of the converse may not be true. We also show that in case of Semicommutative modules and Nil-semicommutative modules, one does not imply the other. Moreover, for a given Nil-semicommutative ring, we provide the conditions under which the same can be extended to a Nil-semicommutative module. Lastly, we also prove that for a left $R$-module $M$, $_RM$ is Nil-semicommutative iff it's localization $S^{-1}M$ over the ring $S^{-1}R$ is also Nil-semicommutative.Various other examples and propositions highlighting the comparative studies of this new class of modules with different classes of modules are also discussed in order to validate the concept.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal C$ be a class of modules over a ring $R$, closed under direct sums over index sets of cardinality $\kappa$ and isomorphisms, and such that the isomorphism classes form a set. The monoid of modules $V(\mathcal C)$ encodes the behavior of finite direct-sum decompositions of modules in $\mathcal C$. We endow $V(\mathcal C)$ with an additional operation reflecting $\kappa$-indexed direct sums, and study the resulting $\kappa$-monoid $V^{\kappa}(\mathcal C)$.

Abstract:We prove an existence theorem for dualizing complexes over noncommutative noetherian complete semilocal algebras, which generalizes Van den Bergh's existence theorem in the graded case. Using the dualizing complex, noncommutative versions of Bass theorem and the no-holes theorem are proved. We also prove that noetherian complete semilocal algebras satisfying polynomial identities are catenary.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a commutative unital ring, $\mathfrak{ a}$ an ideal of $R$ and $M$ a fixed $R$-module. We introduce and study generalisations of $\mathfrak{a}$-reduced modules, $\mathfrak{R}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ and $\mathfrak{a}$-coreduced modules, $\mathfrak{C}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ studied in the literature. They are called modules $\mathfrak{ a}$-reduced with respect to $M$, $\mathfrak{R}^{M}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ and modules $\mathfrak{ a}$-coreduced with respect to $M$, $\mathfrak{C}^{M}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$. The paper lifts several known results about $\mathfrak{R}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ and $\mathfrak{C}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ to larger classes of modules $\mathfrak{R}^{M}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ and $\mathfrak{C}^{M}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ respectively. Results about $\mathfrak{R}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ and $\mathfrak{C}_{\mathfrak{ a}}$ can be retrieved by taking $M= R$.

Abstract:We prove a tight connection between reflexive modules over a one-dimensional ring $R$ and its birational extensions that are self-dual as $R$-modules. Consequently, we show that a complete local reduced Arf ring has finitely many indecomposable reflexive modules up to isomorphism, which can be represented precisely by the local rings infinitely near it. We also characterize Arf rings by the property that any reflexive module is self-dual. We give applications on dimension of subcategories and existence of endomorphism rings of small global dimension (non-commutative desingularizations). Our results indicate striking similarities between Arf rings in dimension one and rational singularities in dimension two from representation-theoretic and categorical perspectives.

A generalization of the dimension and radius of a subcategory of modules and its applications

Abstract:Let $R$ be a commutative noetherian local ring and denote by $\operatorname{mod} R$ the category of finitely generated $R$-modules. In this paper, we give some evaluations of the singular locus of $R$ and annihilators of Tor and Ext from a viewpoint of the finiteness of dimensions/radii of full subcategories of $\operatorname{mod} R$. As an application, we recover a theorem of Dey and Takahashi when $R$ is Cohen--Macaulay. Moreover, we obtain the divergence of the dimensions of specific full subcategories of $\operatorname{mod} R$ in non-Cohen--Macaulay case.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a commutative ring and $M$ a non-zero $R$-module. We introduce the class of \emph{pseudo strongly hollow submodules} (\emph{PS-hollow submodules}, for short) of $M$. Inspired by the theory of modules with \emph{secondary representations}, we investigate modules which can be written as \emph{finite} sums of PS-hollow submodules. In particular, we provide existence and uniqueness theorems for the existence of \emph{minimal} PS-hollow strongly representations of modules over Artinian rings.
