Abstract:We study Lipschitz continuity for solutions of the $\bar{\alpha}$-Poisson equation in planar cases. We also review some recently obtained results. As corolary we can restate results for harmonic and gradient harmonic functions.

Abstract:We solve the Dirichlet problem for hyperbolic Poisson's equation where and is a measure that satisfies a growth condition. Next we present a short proof for Lipschitz continuity of solutions of certain hyperbolic Poisson's equations, previously established at Chen et al. (Calc Var 57:13, 2018. https://doi.org/10.1007/s00526-017-1290-x). In addition, we investigate some alternative assumptions on hyperbolic Laplacian, which are connected with Riesz's potential. Also, local Hölder continuity is proved for solution of certain hyperbolic Poisson's equations. We show that, if u is hyperbolic harmonic in the upper half-space, then , when boundary function f of the functions u is differentiable at the boundary point . As a corollary, we show smoothness of a hyperbolic harmonic function, which is reproduced from the boundary values.

Abstract:We study integral kernels of strongly continuous semigroups on Lebesgue spaces over metric measure spaces. Based on semigroup smoothing properties and abstract Morrey-type inequalities, we give sufficient conditions for Hölder or Lipschitz continuity of the kernels. We apply our results to (pseudo)differential operators on domains and quantum graphs, to Laplacians on a class of fractals including the Sierpiński gasket, and to structurally damped wave equations. An extension to non-autonomous problems is also discussed.

Abstract:This short note is motivated by an attempt to understand the distinction between the Laplace operator and the hyperbolic Laplacian on the unit ball of $\mathbb{R}^n$, regarding the Lipschitz continuity of the solutions to the corresponding Dirichlet problems. We investigate the Dirichlet problem \begin{equation*} \left\{\begin{array}{ll} \Delta_{\vartheta} u = 0, & \text{ in }\, \mathbb{B}^n,\\ u=\phi, & \text{ on }\, \mathbb{S}^{n-1}, \end{array}\right. \end{equation*} where \[ \Delta_{\vartheta} := (1-|x|^2) \bigg\{ \frac {1-|x|^2} {4} \Delta + \vartheta \sum_{j=1}^n x_{j} \frac {\partial } {\partial x_j} + \vartheta \left( \frac {n}{2}-1- \vartheta \right) I\bigg\}. \] We show that the Lipschitz continuity of boundary data always implies the Lipschitz continuity of the solutions if $\vartheta > 0$, but does not when $\vartheta \leq 0$.

Abstract:We continue our study in \cite{FL} on viscosity solutions to a one-phase free boundary problem for the $p(x)$-Laplacian with non-zero right hand side. We first prove that viscosity solutions are locally Lipschitz continuous, which is the optimal regularity for the problem. Then we prove that Lipschitz free boundaries of viscosity solutions are $C^{1,\alpha}$. We also present some applications of our results. Moreover, we obtain new results for the operator under consideration that are of independent interest, such as a Harnack inequality.

Abstract:In this paper we obtain the continuity of attractors for nonlinear parabolic equations with nonlinear boundary conditions when the boundary of the domain varies very rapidly as a parameter $\epsilon$ goes to zero. We consider the case where the boundary of the domain presents a highly oscillatory behavior as the parameter $\epsilon$ goes to zero. For the case where we have a Lipschitz deformation of the boundary with the Lipschitz constant uniformly bounded in $\epsilon$ but the boundaries do not approach in a Lipschitz sense, the solutions of these equations converge in certain sense to the solution of a limit parabolic equation of the same type but where the boundary condition has a factor that captures the oscillations of the boundary. To address this problem, it is necessary to consider the notion of convergence of functions defined in varying domains and the convergence of a family of operators defined in different Banach spaces. Moreover, since we consider problems with nonlinear boundary conditions, it is necessary to extend these concepts to the case of spaces with negative exponents and to operators defined between these spaces.

Abstract:We prove that the solution map for a family of non-linear transport equations in $\mathbb{R}^n$, with a velocity field given by the convolution of the density with a kernel that is smooth away from the origin and homogeneous of degree $-(n-1)$, is continuous in both the little Hölder class and the little Zygmund class. For particular choices of the kernel, one recovers well-known equations such as the 2D Euler or the 3D quasi-geostrophic equations.

Abstract:We analyze the propagation of Lipschitz continuity of solutions to various linear and nonlinear drift-diffusion systems, with and without incompressibility constraints. Diffusion is assumed to be either fractional or classical. We derive conditions that guarantee the propagation of Lipschitz regularity by the incompressible NSE in the form of a non-local, one dimensional viscous Burgers-type inequality. We show the analogous inequality is always satisfied for the generalized viscous Burgers–Hilbert equation, in any spatial dimension, leading to global regularity. The technique we use builds upon the evolution of moduli of continuity as introduced by Kiselev, Nazarov, Volberg and Shterenberg.

Abstract:We establish Lipschitz regularity of harmonic maps from $\mathrm{RCD}(K,N)$ metric measure spaces with lower Ricci curvature bounds and dimension upper bounds in synthetic sense with values into $\mathrm{CAT}(0)$ metric spaces with non-positive sectional curvature. Under the same assumptions, we obtain a Bochner-Eells-Sampson inequality with a Hessian type-term. This gives a fairly complete generalization of the classical theory for smooth source and target spaces to their natural synthetic counterparts and an affirmative answer to a question raised several times in the recent literature. The proofs build on a new interpretation of the interplay between Optimal Transport and the Heat Flow on the source space and on an original perturbation argument in the spirit of the viscosity theory of PDEs.

Abstract:We study nonnegative solutions to the following Hardy-Hénon type equations involving higher order fractional Laplacians $$ (-\Delta)^\sigma u = |x|^{-\alpha}u^{p} ~~~~~~ \mbox{in} ~ \mathbb{R}^n \backslash \{0\} $$ with a possible singularity at the origin, where $\sigma$ is a real number satisfying $0 < \sigma < n/2$, $-\infty < \alpha < 2\sigma$ and $p>1$. By a more direct approach without using the super poly-harmonic properties, we establish an integral representation for nonnegative solutions to the above higher order fractional equations whether the singularity $\{0\}$ is removable or not. As the first application, we prove an optimal Liouville-type theorem for the above equations with removable singularity for all $\sigma \in (0, n/2)$ when $$ 1 < p < p_{\sigma,\alpha}^*:=\frac{n+2\sigma -2\alpha}{n-2\sigma} ~~~ \mbox{and} ~~~ -\infty < \alpha < 2\sigma. $$ This, in particular, covers a gap occurring for non-integral $\sigma \in (1, n/2)$ and $\alpha \in (0, 2\sigma)$ in the current literature. As the second application, we show the radial symmetry of solutions in the critical case or in the case when the origin is a non-removable singularity. Such radial symmetry would be useful in studying the singular Yamabe-type problems.
