Abstract:A topological space is called a submetrizable if it can be mapped onto a metrizable topological space by a continuous one-to-one map. In this paper we answer two questions concerning sequence-covering maps on submetrizable spaces.

Abstract:A.V. Arhangel'skii introduced the notion of an almost s-mapping. It is known that the open almost s-images of metric spaces coincide with the open boundary s-images of metric spaces. In this paper, we investigate some questions related to the sequence-covering almost s-images and sequence-covering boundary s-images of metric spaces. We establish some new characterizations of the images of metric spaces under sequence-covering and s-mappings at subsets in topological spaces. The following main results are obtained: (1) A space X has a cs*-network which is point-countable at non-isolated points if and only if X is a sequentially quotient and almost s-image of a metric space. (2) A space X has a cs-network which is point-countable at non-isolated points if and only if X is a sequence-covering and almost s-image of a metric space. (3) A space X has an sn-network which is point-countable at non-isolated points if and only if X is a 1-sequence-covering and almost s-image of a metric space. (4) A space X is a cs f -countable space if and only if X is a sequence-covering (resp., sequentially quotient) and boundary s-image of a metric space. Closed and open-closed images of submetrizable spaces

Abstract:We prove that: 1. If a Hausdorff M-space is a continuous closed image of a submetrizable space, then it is metrizable. 2. A dense-in-itself open-closed image of a submetrizable space is submetrizable if and only if it is functionally Hausdorff and has a countable pseudocharacter. 3. Let $Y$ be a dense-in-itself space with the following property: $\forall y\in Y\ \exists Q(y) \subseteq Y\ [y \text{ is a non-isolated q-point in } Q(y)]$. If $Y$ is an open-closed image of a submetrizable space, then $Y$ is submetrizable. 4. There exist a submetrizable space $X$, a regular hereditarily paracompact non submetrizable first-countable space $Y$, and an open-closed map $f\colon X \to Y$.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate submetrizability and first-countability of coset spaces. It is mainly shown that (1) If H is a compact subgroup of a paratopological group G such that l(G/H)ψ(G/H)≤ω, then G/H admits a weaker separable metrizable topology; (2) If H is a closed neutral subgroup of a paratopological group G, then G/H is first-countable if and only if G/H is weakly first-countable; (3) If H is a closed neutral subgroup of a topological group G, then G/H is metrizable if and only if G/H is a csf-countable and sequential α7-space; (4) If H is a compact subgroup of a topological group G, then G/H is metrizable if and only if G/H is feathered and csf-countable.

Abstract:Almost ss-mappings and almost compact mappings have been introduced and studied. In this article, we continue to research some questions related to the almost s-images (resp., almost compact images) of metric spaces. The following results are obtained. (1) A space XX is a quotient and almost compact image of a metric space if and only if XX is a sequential space having a cs∗c{s}^{\ast }-network which is point-regular at nonisolated points, which gives an affirmative answer to Question 4.9 in the article “S. Lin, X. W. Ling, and Y. Ge, Point-regular covers and sequence-covering compact mappings, Topology Appl. 271 (2020), 106987.” (2) There exists a bi-quotient and almost compact image of a metric space satisfying no base, which is point-countable at nonisolated points, which gives negative answers to Question 3.1 in the article “X. W. Ling and S. Lin, On open almost s-images of metric spaces, Adv. Math. (China) 48 (2019), no. 4, 489–496” and Question 3.7 in the article “X. W. Ling, S. Lin, and W. He, Point-countable covers and sequence-covering s-mappings at subsets, Topology Appl. 290 (2021), 107572.” (3) Some characterizations of countably bi-quotient and almost ss-images (resp., pseudo-open and almost compact images) of metric spaces.

Abstract:For a space X let be the set of compact subsets of X ordered by inclusion. A map is a relative Tukey quotient if it carries compact covers to compact covers. When there is such a Tukey quotient write , and write if and vice versa. We investigate the initial structure of pairs under the relative Tukey order, focussing on the case of separable metrizable spaces. Connections are made to Menger spaces. Applications are given demonstrating the diversity of free topological groups, and related free objects, over separable metrizable spaces. It is shown a topological group G has the countable chain condition if it is either -pseudocompact or for some separable metrizable M, we have .

Abstract:The topological properties of coverings and their corresponding covering approximation operators have drawn special attention because these topological properties have important applications in rough sets. In this paper, we present some topological characterizations for three covering approximation operators. In the first part, we present certain topological characterizations for the covering lower approximation operator in an infinite universe, while the topological characterizations for the first and the second types of covering upper approximation operators are studied in a finite universe. In the second part, the relationships among three operators and the relationships among three topological spaces are established. In a word, topology theory provides useful tools to study covering-based rough sets.

Abstract:Let $X$ and $Y$ be metrizable spaces and suppose that there exists a uniformly continuous surjection $T: C_{p}(X) \to C_{p}(Y)$ (resp., $T: C_{p}^*(X) \to C_{p}^*(Y)$), where $C_{p}(X)$ (resp., $C_{p}^*(X)$) denotes the space of all real-valued continuous (resp., continuous and bounded) functions on $X$ endowed with the pointwise convergence topology. We show that if additionally $T$ is an inversely bounded mapping and $X$ has some dimensional-like property $\mathcal P$, then so does $Y$. For example, this is true if $\mathcal P$ is one of the following properties: zero-dimensionality, countable-dimensionality or strong countable-dimensionality. Also, we consider other properties $\mathcal P$: of being a scattered, or a strongly $\sigma$-scattered space, or being a $\Delta_1$-space (see [17]). Our results strengthen and extend several results from [6], [13], [17].

Abstract:Given an autohomeomorphism on an ordered topological space or its subspace, we show that it is sometimes possible to introduce a new topology-compatible order on that space so that the same map is monotonic with respect to the new ordering. We note that the existence of such a re-ordering for a given map is equivalent to the map being conjugate (topologically equivalent) to a monotonic map on some homeomorphic ordered space. We observe that the latter cannot always be chosen to be order-isomorphic to the original space. Also, we identify other routes that may lead to similar affirmative statements for other classes of spaces and maps.

Abstract:A topological space is nonseparably connected if it is connected but all of its connected separable subspaces are singletons. We show that each connected first countable space is the image of a nonseparably connected complete metric space under a continuous monotone hereditarily quotient map.

Abstract:For two not necessarily commutative topological groups G and T, let H(G,T) denote the space of all continuous homomorphisms from G to T with the compact-open topology. We prove that if G is metrizable and T is compact then H(G,T) is a k-space. As a consequence we obtain that if G_1 is a dense subgroup of G then H(G_1,T) is homeomorphic to H(G,T), and if G is separable h-complete, then the natural map G --> C(H(G,T),T) is open onto its image.

Abstract:In this paper we continue presenting new types of soft operators for supra soft topological spaces (or SSTSs). Specifically, we investigate more interesting properties and relationships between the supra soft somewhere dense interior (or SS-sd-interior) operator, the SS-sd-closure operator, the SS-sd-cluster operator, and the SS-sd-boundary operator. We prove that the SS-sd-interior operator, SS-sd-boundary operator, and SS-sd-exterior operator form a partition for the absolute soft set. Furthermore, we apply the notion of SS-sd-sets to soft continuity. In addition, we use the SS-sd-interior operator and the SS-sd-closure operator to provide equivalent conditions and many characterizations for SS-sd-continuous, SS-sd-irresolute, SS-sd-open, SS-sd-closed, and SS-sd-homeomorphism maps. Examples include the following: The soft mapping is an SS-sd-homeomorphism if, and only if it is both SS-sd-continuous and an SS-sd-closed if, and only if, the soft mapping in addition to its inverse is SS-sd-continuous. Moreover, a bijective soft mapping is SS-sd-open if, and only if, it is SS-sd-closed. Furthermore, we provide many examples and counterexamples to show our results, which are extensions of previous studies. A diagram summarizing our results is also introduced.

Abstract:Graph covers are a way to describe continuous maps (and homeomorphisms) of a Cantor set, more generally than e.g.\ Bratteli-Vershik systems. Every continuous map on a zero-dimensional compact set can be expressed by a graph cover (e.g.\ non-minimality or aperiodicty are no restrictions). We give a survey on the construction, properties and some special cases of graph covers.

Abstract:For a space $X$, let $(CL(X), \tau_V)$, $(CL(X), \tau_{locfin})$ and $(CL(X), \tau_F)$ be the set $CL(X)$ of all nonempty closed subsets of $X$ which are endowed with Vietoris topology, locally finite topology and Fell topology respectively. We prove that $(CL(X), \tau_V)$ is quasi-metrizable if and only if $X$ is a separable metrizable space and the set of all non-isolated points of $X$ is compact, $(CL(X), \tau_{locfin})$ is quasi-metrizable or symmetrizable if and only if $X$ is metrizable and the set of all non-isolated points of $X$ is compact, and $(CL(X), \tau_F)$ is quasi-metrizable if and only if $X$ is hemicompact and metrizable. As an application, we give a negative answer to a Conjecture in \cite{LL2022}.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a novel category of sequence spaces and by utlizing q -analogue of Λ-matrix. Our investigation outlines several topological characteristics and inclusion results of these newly introduced sequence spaces, specifically identifying them as BK-spaces. Subsequently, we demonstrate that these novel sequence spaces are of nonabsolute type and establish their isometric isomorphism with and . Moreover, we obtain the α -, β -, and γ -duals of these sequence spaces. We further characterize the class of matrices, where X is any of the spaces , c , or . Lastly, our study delves into the exploration of specific geometric properties exhibited by the space .

Abstract:Let X be a compact metric space and T : X → X be continuous. Let h * ( T ) be the supremum of topological sequence entropies of T over all subsequences of ℤ + and S ( X ) be the set of the values h *( T ) for all continuous maps T on X . It is known that {0} ⊆ S ( X ) ⊆ {0, log 2, log 3, …} ∪ {∞}. Only three possibilities for S ( X ) have been observed so far, namely S ( X ) = {0}, S ( X ) = {0, log 2, ∞} and S ( X ) = {0, log 2, log 3, …}∪{∞}. In this paper we completely solve the problem of finding all possibilities for S ( X ) by showing that in fact for every set {0} ⊆ A ⊆ {0, log 2, log 3, …} ∪ {∞} there exists a one-dimensional continuum X A with S ( X A ) = A . In the construction of X A we use Cook continua. This is apparently the first application of these very rigid continua in dynamics. We further show that the same result is true if one considers only homeomorphisms rather than continuous maps. The problem for group actions is also addressed. For some class of group actions (by homeomorphisms) we provide an analogous result, but in full generality this problem remains open.

Abstract:We study Banach spaces whose group of isometries acts micro-transitively on the unit sphere. We introduce a weaker property, which one-complemented subspaces inherit, that we call uniform micro-semitransitivity. We prove a number of results about both micro-transitive and uniformly micro-semitransitive spaces, including that they are uniformly convex and uniformly smooth, and that they form a self-dual class. To this end, we relate the fact that the group of isometries acts micro-transitively with a property of operators called the pointwise Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property and use some known results on it. Besides, we show that if there is a non-Hilbertian non-separable Banach space with uniform micro-semitransitive (or micro-transitive) norm, then there is a non-Hilbertian separable one. Finally, we show that an $L_p(\mu)$ space is micro-transitive or uniformly micro-semitransitive only when $p=2$.
