Abstract:We classify rank one 2-representations of SL2, GL2 and SO3 web categories. The classification is inspired by similar results about quantum groups, given by reducing the problem to the classification of bilinear and trilinear forms, and is formulated such that it can be adapted to other web categories.

Abstract:The homogeneous coordinate ring of the Grassmannian $\rm{Gr}(k,n)$ has a well-known cluster structure. There is a categorification of this cluster structure via a category of modules for a ring $\mathcal{A}_{k,n}$ due to Jensen-King-Su, building on work of Geiss-Leclerc-Schr\"oer, in which cluster variables correspond to indecomposable rigid modules. We give a combinatorial description of modules that correspond to rank $2$ cluster variables by using webs. This conjecturally gives the categorification of all rank $2$ cluster variables.

Abstract:In this paper we use Kuperberg's -webs and Khovanov's -foams to define a new algebra , which we call the -web algebra. It is the analogue of Khovanov's arc algebra. We prove that is a graded symmetric Frobenius algebra. Furthermore, we categorify an instance of -skew Howe duality, which allows us to prove that is Morita equivalent to a certain cyclotomic KLR-algebra of level 3. This allows us to determine the split Grothendieck group , to show that its center is isomorphic to the cohomology ring of a certain Spaltenstein variety, and to prove that is a graded cellular algebra.

Abstract:Bernstein, Frenkel and Khovanov have constructed a categorification of tensor products of the standard representation of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ using singular blocks of category $\mathcal{O}$ for $\mathfrak{sl}_n$. In earlier work, we construct a positive characteristic analogue using blocks of representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ over a field $\textbf{k}$ of characteristic $p > n$, with zero Frobenius character, and singular Harish-Chandra character. In the present paper, we extend these results and construct a categorical $\mathfrak{sl}_k$-action, following Sussan's approach, by considering more singular blocks of modular representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_n$. We consider both zero and non-zero Frobenius central character. In the former setting, we construct a graded lift of these categorifications which are equivalent to a geometric construction of Cautis, Kamnitzer and Licata. We establish a Koszul duality between two geometric categorificatons constructed in their work, and resolve a conjecture of theirs. For non-zero Frobenius central characters, we show that the geometric approach to categorical symmetric Howe duality by Cautis and Kamnitzer can be used to construct a graded lift of our categorification using singular blocks of modular representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_n$.

Abstract:We study realizations of Lie algebras by vector fields. A correspondence between classification of transitive local realizations and classification of subalgebras is generalized to the case of regular local realizations. A reasonable classification problem for general realizations is rigorously formulated and an algorithm for construction of such classification is presented.

Abstract:We construct knot invariants categorifying the quantum knot variants for all representations of quantum groups. We show that these invariants coincide with previous invariants defined by Khovanov for sl_2 and sl_3 and by Mazorchuk-Stroppel and Sussan for sl_n. Our technique is to study 2-representations of 2-quantum groups (in the sense of Rouquier and Khovanov-Lauda) categorifying tensor products of irreducible representations. These are the representation categories of certain finite dimensional algebras with an explicit diagrammatic presentation, generalizing the cyclotomic quotient of the KLR algebra. When the Lie algebra under consideration is $\mathfrak{sl}_n$, we show that these categories agree with certain subcategories of parabolic category O for gl_k. We also investigate the finer structure of these categories: they are standardly stratified and satisfy a double centralizer property with respect to their self-dual modules. The standard modules of the stratification play an important role as test objects for functors, as Vermas do in more classical representation theory. The existence of these representations has consequences for the structure of previously studied categorifications. It allows us to prove the non-degeneracy of Khovanov and Lauda's 2-category (that its Hom spaces have the expected dimension) in all symmetrizable types, and that the cyclotomic quiver Hecke algebras are symmetric Frobenius. In work of Reshetikhin and Turaev, the braiding and (co)evaluation maps between representations of quantum groups are used to define polynomial knot invariants. We show that the categorifications of tensor products are related by functors categorifying these maps, which allow the construction of bigraded knot homologies whose graded Euler characteristics are the original polynomial knot invariants.

Abstract:We provide a finite dimensional categorification of the symmetric evaluation of $\mathfrak{sl}_N$-webs using foam technology. As an output we obtain a symmetric link homology theory categorifying the link invariant associated to symmetric powers of the standard representation of $\mathfrak{sl}_N$. In addition, the construction is actually made in an equivariant setting. We prove also that there is a spectral sequence from the Khovanov-Rozansky triply graded link homology to the symmetric one and provide along the way a foam interpretation of Soergel bimodules.

Abstract:The Hecke algebras for all symmetric groups taken together form a braided monoidal category that controls all quantum link invariants of type A and, by extension, the standard canon of topological quantum field theories in dimension 3 and 4. Here we provide the first categorification of this Hecke braided monoidal category, which takes the form of an $\mathbb{E}_2$-monoidal $(\infty,2)$-category whose hom-$(\infty,1)$-categories are $k$-linear, stable, idempotent-complete, and equipped with $\mathbb{Z}$-actions. This categorification is designed to control homotopy-coherent link homology theories and to-be-constructed topological quantum field theories in dimension 4 and 5.

Abstract:We study ruled submanifolds of Euclidean space. First, to each (parametrized) ruled submanifold $\sigma$, we associate an integer-valued function, called degree, measuring the extent to which $\sigma$ fails to be cylindrical. In particular, we show that if the degree is constant and equal to $d$, then the singularities of $\sigma$ can only occur along an $(m-d)$-dimensional "striction" submanifold. This result allows us to extend the standard classification of developable surfaces in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$ to the whole family of flat and ruled submanifolds without planar points, also known as rank-one: an open and dense subset of every rank-one submanifold is the union of cylindrical, conical, and tangent regions.

Abstract:Let $p<q$ be odd primes, $\rho_1$ and $\rho_2$ be irreducible representations of $\text{SL}(2,\mathbb{Z}_p)$ and $\text{SL}(2,\mathbb{Z}_q)$ of dimensions $\frac{p+1}{2}$ and $\frac{q+1}{2}$, respectively. We show that if $\rho_1\oplus\rho_2$ can be realized as modular representation associated to a modular fusion category $\mathcal{C}$, then $q-p=4$. Moreover, if $\mathcal{C}$ contains a non-trivial étale algebra, then $\mathcal{C}\boxtimes\mathcal{C}(\mathbb{Z}_p,\eta)\cong\mathcal{Z}(\mathcal{A})$ as braided fusion category, where $\mathcal{A}$ is a near-group fusion category of type $(\mathbb{Z}_p,p)$. And we show that there exists a non-trivial $\mathbb{Z}_2$-extension of $\mathcal{A}$ that contains simple objects of Frobenius-Perron dimension $\frac{\sqrt{p}+\sqrt{q}}{2}$.

Abstract:In this paper, we study 2-representations of 2-quantum groups (in the sense of Rouquier and Khovanov-Lauda) categorifying tensor products of irreducible representations. Our aim is to construct knot homologies categorifying Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants of knots for arbitrary representations, which will be done in a follow-up paper. We consider an algebraic construction of these categories, via an explicit diagrammatic presentation, generalizing the cyclotomic quotient of the quiver Hecke algebra. One of our primary results is that these categories coincide when both are defined. We also investigate finer structure of these categories. Like many similar representation-theoretic categories, they are standardly stratified and satisfy a double centralizer property with respect to their self-dual modules. The standard modules of the stratification play an important role, as Vermas do in more classical representation theory, as test objects for functors. Abstract:Many key invariants in the representation theory of classical groups (symmetric groups $S_n$, matrix groups $GL_n$, $O_n$, $Sp_{2n}$) are polynomials in $n$ (e.g., dimensions of irreducible representations). This allowed Deligne to extend the representation theory of these groups to complex values of the rank $n$. Namely, Deligne defined generically semisimple families of tensor categories parametrized by $n\in \mathbb{C}$, which at positive integer $n$ specialize to the classical representation categories. Using Deligne's work, Etingof proposed a similar extrapolation for many non-semisimple representation categories built on representation categories of classical groups, e.g., degenerate affine Hecke algebras (dAHA). It is expected that for generic $n\in \mathbb{C}$ such extrapolations behave as they do for large integer $n$ ("stabilization"). The goal of our work is to provide a technique to prove such statements. Namely, we develop an algebro-geometric framework to study categories indexed by a parameter $n$, in which the set of values of $n$ for which the category has a given property is constructible. This implies that if a property holds for integer $n$, it then holds for generic complex $n$. We use this to give a new proof that Deligne's categories are generically semisimple. We also apply this method to Etingof's extrapolations of dAHA, and prove that when $n$ is transcendental, "finite-dimensional" simple objects are quotients of certain standard induced objects, extrapolating Zelevinsky's classification of simple dAHA-modules for $n\in \mathbb{N}$. Finally, we obtain similar results for the extrapolations of categories associated to wreath products of the symmetric group with associative algebras.

Integrability of rank-two web models

Abstract:We continue our work on lattice models of webs, which generalise the well-known loop models to allow for various kinds of bifurcations [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2101.00282" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2101.00282">arXiv:2101.00282</a>, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2107.10106" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2107.10106">arXiv:2107.10106</a>]. Here we define new web models corresponding to each of the rank-two spiders considered by Kuperberg [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="q-alg/9712003" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/q-alg/9712003">arXiv:q-alg/9712003</a>]. These models are based on the $A_2$, $G_2$ and $B_2$ Lie algebras, and their local vertex configurations are intertwiners of the corresponding $q$-deformed quantum algebras. In all three cases we define a corresponding model on the hexagonal lattice, and in the case of $B_2$ also on the square lattice. For specific root-of-unity choices of $q$, we show the equivalence to a number of three- and four-state spin models on the dual lattice. The main result of this paper is to exhibit integrable manifolds in the parameter spaces of each web model. For $q$ on the unit circle, these models are critical and we characterise the corresponding conformal field theories via numerical diagonalisation of the transfer matrix. In the $A_2$ case we find two integrable regimes. The first one contains a dense and a dilute phase, for which we have analytic control via a Coulomb gas construction, while the second one is more elusive and likely conceals non-compact physics. Three particular points correspond to a three-state spin model with plaquette interactions, of which the one in the second regime appears to present a new universality class. In the $G_2$ case we identify four regimes numerically. The $B_2$ case is too unwieldy to be studied numerically in the general case, but it found analytically to contain a simpler sub-model based on generators of the dilute Birman-Murakami-Wenzl algebra.

Abstract:Motivated by recent advances in the categorification of quantum groups at prime roots of unity, we develop a theory of 2-representations for 2-categories enriched with a p-differential which satisfy finiteness conditions analogous to those of finitary or fiat 2-categories. We construct cell 2-representations in this setup, and consider 2-categories stemming from bimodules over a p-dg category in detail. This class is of particular importance in the categorification of quantum groups, which allows us to apply our results to cyclotomic quotients of the categorifications of small quantum group of type $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ at prime roots of unity by Elias-Qi [Advances in Mathematics 288 (2016)]. Passing to stable 2-representations gives a way to construct triangulated 2-representations, but our main focus is on working with p-dg enriched 2-representations that should be seen as a p-dg enhancement of these triangulated ones.

Abstract:Revisiting the results by Winternitz [Symmetry in physics, CRM Proc. Lecture Notes 34, American Mathematical Society, Providence, RI, 2004, pp. 215-227], we thoroughly refine his classification of Lie subalgebras of the real order-three special linear Lie algebra and thus present the correct version of this classification for the first time. A similar classification over the complex numbers is also carried out. We follow the general approach by Patera, Winternitz and Zassenhaus but in addition enhance it and rigorously prove its theoretical basis for the required specific cases of classifying subalgebras of real or complex finite-dimensional Lie algebras. As a byproduct, we first construct complete lists of inequivalent subalgebras of the rank-two affine Lie algebra over both the real and complex fields.

Abstract:Following the dimensional ladder, we develop a systematic categorification of the theory of quantum groups/bialgebras in the $A_\infty$ setting, and study their higher-representation theory. By following closely the generalized quantum double construction of Majid, we construct in particular the 2-quantum double $D(\mathcal{G})$ associated to a 2-bialgebra $\mathcal{G}$, and prove its duality and factorization properties. We also characterize a notion of (quasitriangular) 2-R-matrix $\mathcal{R}$ and identify the associated 2-Yang-Baxter equations, which can be seen as a categorification of the usual notion of $R$-matrix in an ordinary quantum group. The main result we prove in this paper is that the weak 2-representation 2-category $\operatorname{2Rep}^{\mathcal{T}}(\mathcal{G})$ of a quasitriangular 2-bialgebra $(\mathcal{G},\mathcal{T},\mathcal{R})$ -- when monoidally weakened by a Hochschild 3-cocycle $\mathcal{T}$ -- forms a braided monoidal 2-category.
