Abstract:We generalize a fundamental theorem on positive matrix semigroups stating that each component is either strictly positive for all times or identically zero ("Lévy's Theorem"). Our proof of this fact that does not require the matrices to be continuous at time zero. We also provide a formulation of this theorem in the terminology of positive operator semigroups on sequence spaces.

Abstract:Minakshisundaram and Pleijel gave an asymptotic formula for the sum of squares of the pointwise values of the eigenfunctions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on a compact Riemannian manifold, with eigenvalues less than a fixed number. Here, a generalization is given, where the pointwise values are replaced by the Fourier coefficients of a smooth measure supported on a compact submanifold.

Abstract:We give an adelic version of a spectral reciprocity formula relating $\mathrm{GL}_3 \times \mathrm{GL}_2$ with $\mathrm{GL}_3 \times \mathrm{GL}_1$ and $\mathrm{GL}_1$ moments of $L$-functions discovered by Xiaoqing Li. For many types of the $\mathrm{GL}_3$ representation, we describe the local weight transforms via a decomposition of Voronoi's formula in terms of elementary transforms, which generalizes the one given by Miller--Schmid in a way consistent with the local Langlands correspondence. We obtain some integral representation of the Bessel functions for $\mathrm{GL}_2$ uniformly over all local fields. We announce the dual weight computation in a new case, which identifies the coset problem parallel to that in Petrow--Young's Weyl-type subconvexity for general Dirichlet $L$-functions. The proof and extensive study of other accessible cases will be given in a separate paper.

Abstract:We prove a boundary version of the strong form of the Ahlfors-Schwarz lemma with optimal error term. This result provides nonlinear extensions of the boundary Schwarz lemma of Burns and Krantz to the class of negatively curved conformal pseudometrics defined on arbitary hyperbolic domains in the complex plane. Based on a new boundary Harnack inequality for solutions of the Gauss curvature equation, we also establish a sharp rigidity result for conformal metrics with isolated singularities. In the particular case of constant negative curvature this strengthens classical results of Nitsche and Heins about Liouville's equation $\Delta u=e^u$.

Abstract:In this paper we build on the work of \cite{kaber} where it was shown that the one-parameter family of Gegenbauer Polynomials (GP) exhibit a Gibbs Phenomenon at a jump discontinuity. We show that the one-parameter family of Generalized Laguerre Polynomials (GLP) also exhibit a Gibbs Phenomenon. Among many differences, a major one is that the GLP are orthogonal on a non-compact subset of $\R$, while the GP are orthogonal on $[-1,1]$. Our strategy follows that of \cite{kaber} and we use entirely elementary methods to arrive at our result. As a special case we show that the Hermite Polynomials also possess a Gibbs Phenomenon. We conclude with a numerical example exhibiting the rate of convergence to the Gibbs constant and a conjectured identity for special values of the GLP.

Abstract:This article presents the cotangent fractional Gronwall inequality, a novel understanding of the Gronwall inequality within the context of the cotangent fractional derivative. We furnish an explanation of the cotangent fractional derivative and emphasize a selection of its distinct characteristics before delving into the primary findings. We present the cotangent fractional Gronwall inequality (Lemma 3.1) and a Corollary 3.2 using the Mittag-Leffler function, we establish singularity and compute an upper limit employing the Mittag-Leffler function for solutions in a nonlinear delayed cotangent fractional system, illustrating its practical utility. To underscore the real-world relevance of the theory, a tangible instance is given.

Abstract:In this work we establish a gradient bound and Liouville-type theorems for solutions to Quasi-linear elliptic equations on compact Riemannian Manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. Also, we provide a local splitting theorem when the inequality in the gradient bound becomes equality at some point. Moreover, we prove a Harnack-type inequality and an ABP estimate for the gradient of solutions in domains contained in the manifold.
