Abstract:Non-factorizable virtual corrections to Higgs boson production in weak boson fusion at next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD were estimated in the eikonal approximation [1]. This approximation corresponds to the expansion of relevant amplitudes around the forward limit. In this paper we compute the leading power correction to the eikonal limit and show that it is proportional to first power of the Higgs boson transverse momentum or the Higgs boson mass over partonic center-of-mass energy. Moreover, this correction can be significantly enhanced by the rapidity of the Higgs boson. For realistic weak boson fusion cuts, the next-to-eikonal correction reduces the estimate of non-factorizable contributions to fiducial cross section by O(30) percent.

Abstract:We present computation of the next-to-leading power corrections for Higgs plus one jet production in a hadron collider via gluon fusion channel. Shifting of spinors in the helicity amplitudes without additional radiation captures the leading next-to-soft radiative behaviour and makes the calculation tractable. We establish the connection between the shifted dipole spinors and the colour ordered radiative amplitudes. We find that next-to-maximal helicity violating amplitudes do not play a role in this correction. Compact analytic expressions of next-to-leading power leading logarithms coming from different helicity configurations are shown.

Abstract:We study QCD corrections to the process where a Higgs boson is produced in weak boson fusion and then decays into a pair of massive $b$ quarks. We find that typical experimental criteria used to identify $b$ jets in this process affect QCD corrections to the decay, making it necessary to account for them in the proper description of this process. Indeed, if corrections to the production and decay are combined, the fiducial cross section of the weak boson fusion process $p p \to H(\to b \bar{b}) j j$ is reduced by about $40\%$ relative to leading-order predictions, compared to just about $8\%$ if only corrections to the production process are considered. We investigate the origin of these large corrections through next-to-next-to-leading-order and conclude that they appear because a number of independent moderately-large effects conspire to significantly reduce the fiducial cross section for this process.

Abstract:It has been recently argued that the inclusive hadroproduction at the LHC of a Higgs boson in association with a jet can be sensitive to the high-energy dynamics. Moreover, the impact of the resummation at FCC energies is expected to be large also in the inclusive cross section for the main Higgs production channel in proton-proton collisions, namely the gluon fusion. As the energy increases, a pure $k_t$-factorization framework or a collinear-factorization approach supplemented by the high-energy resummation are adequate formalisms to describe these processes. In both cases, the fundamental missing ingredient for a next-to-leading logarithmic description is the Higgs boson impact factor. We present the full next-to-leading result for the forward Higgs impact factor, obtained in the infinite top-mass limit, discussing possible future extensions, such as the calculation of the impact factor in the central rapidity region.

Abstract:The measurement of the Higgs pair production via vector boson fusion can be used to test the trilinear Higgs self-coupling and the VVHH (V = Z, W) quartic gauge interactions. In this paper we present the calculations of the next-to-next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to the SM Higgs boson pair production via vector boson fusion at hadron colliders with the center-of-mass energy of 14, 33, and 100 TeV by using the structure function approach and study the residual uncertainties from the factorization/renormalization scale, parton distribution functions, and alpha(s) on the total cross section. We also provide the distributions of transverse momenta, rapidities, invariant mass, and azimuthal angle separations of final Higgs bosons. We observe a considerable quantitative reduction in the scale uncertainty due to the next-to-next-to-leading-order QCD corrections and find that the total cross section is sensitive to the trilinear Higgs self-coupling.

Abstract:The renormalization-scale dependence of the non-factorizable virtual corrections to Higgs boson production in weak boson fusion at next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD is unusually strong, due to the peculiar nature of these corrections. To address this problem, we compute the three-loop non-factorizable contribution to this process which accounts for the running of the strong coupling constant, and show that it stabilizes the theoretical prediction.

Abstract:We present a calculation of pseudoscalar Higgs production in association with a jet at Next-to-Next-to Leading Order (NNLO) accuracy in QCD. We work in an effective field theory in which $m_t \rightarrow \infty$ resulting in effective operators which couple the pseudoscalar to gluons and (massless) quarks. We have calculated all of the relevant amplitudes for the two-loop, one-loop and tree-level contributions. As a cross-check of our calculation we have re-calculated all of the scalar Higgs plus parton amplitudes and perform a detailed comparison to the literature. In order to regulate the infra-red singularities present at this order we employ the $N-$jettiness slicing method. In addition to a detailed validation of our calculation at this order we investigate LHC phenomenology for a selection of pseudoscalar Higgs masses. Our results are implemented into the parton-level Monte Carlo code MCFM.

Abstract:After ten years from its discovery, the Higgs boson is still under unprecedented scrutiny. A huge theoretical effort has been invested in modelling Higgs boson production through gluon fusion, reaching $\text{N}^3\text{LO}$ predictions in pure QCD. This incredible theoretical achievement makes the exact computation of sub-leading contributions, such as mixed QCD-Electroweak corrections, necessary. I will present the analytic calculation of the gluon- and quark-initiated two-loop four-point contributions to such class of corrections mediated by light quarks at order $v \alpha^2 \alpha_S^{3/2}$.

Abstract:In this paper, we compute the soft-virtual corrections to Higgs boson production in gluon fusion for infinite top quark mass at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD. In addition, we present analogous soft-virtual terms for both Drell-Yan lepton production in QCD and scalar pair production in N = 4 super Yang-Mills theory. The result for Drell-Yan lepton production is derived from the result for Higgs boson production using Casimir scaling arguments together with well-known results available in the literature. For scalar pair production in the N = 4 model, we show by explicit calculation that the result is equal to the part of the Higgs boson soft-virtual term which is of maximal transcendentality weight.

Abstract:We compute two-loop electroweak corrections to Higgs boson pair and Higgs plus jet production, taking into account all sectors of the Standard Model. All diagrams with virtual top quarks are computed in an expansion for large top quark mass up to order $1/m_t^8$ or more. We present analytic results for the form factors and discuss the convergence properties. For the process $gg\to gH$ we also consider QCD corrections in the large-$m_t$ limit.

Abstract:In these proceedings, we summarise our recent calculations of next-to-leading order electroweak corrections to Higgs boson pair and Higgs boson plus jet production. The calculations are divided into different regions. In the high-energy region, we analytically calculate the Higgs boson contribution to the leading two-loop Yukawa corrections for $gg\to HH$. These corrections are generated by a single virtual Higgs boson exchange within the top quark loop. Our high-energy expansion yields precise predictions for the region where the Higgs boson transverse momenta $p_T > 120 $ GeV. In the low-energy region, we compute the complete two-loop electroweak corrections to $gg\to HH$ and $gg \to gH$. We obtain analytic results through the large top quark mass expansion, covering all sectors of the Standard Model.

Abstract:The exclusive decay of the Higgs boson to a vector meson (J/ψ or Υ(1S)) and Z boson is studied in this work. The decay amplitudes are separated into two parts in a gauge invariant manner. The first part comes from the direct coupling of the Higgs boson to the charm (bottom) quark and the other from the HZZ* or the loop-induced HZγ* vertexes in the standard model. While the branching ratios from the direct channel are much smaller than those of the indirect channel, their interference terms give nontrivial contributions. We further calculate the QCD radiative corrections to both channels, which reduce the total branching ratios by around 20% for both (J/ψ or Υ(1S)) production. Our results provide a possible chance to check the SM predictions of the Hc c ¯ ( Hb b ¯ ) coupling and to seek for hints of new physics at the High Luminosity LHC or future hadron colliders.

Abstract:We present virtual contributions up to two loop level in perturbative Quantum Chromodynamic (QCD) to the decay of pseudo-scalar Higgs boson ($A$) to three gluons ($g$) and also to quark ($q$), anti-quark ($\overline q$) and a gluon. With appropriate crossing, they are well suited for predicting the differential distribution of $A$ in association with a jet in hadron colliders up to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in strong coupling constant and also for the subsequent decay of $A$ to hadrons. We use effective field theory approach to integrate out the top quarks in the heavy top limit. The resulting theory involves two pseudo-scalar composite operators describing the interaction of $A$ with gluons as well as with quark and anti-quark. We perform our computation in dimensional regularisation and use minimal subtraction ($\overline{MS}$) scheme to renormalise strong coupling constant as well as the composite operators. The ultraviolet (UV) finite amplitudes contain infrared (IR) divergences that are found to be in agreement with the predictions by Catani. For both the amplitudes namely $A \rightarrow g g g$ and $A \rightarrow q \overline q g$, the leading transcendental terms at one and two loops are found to be identical to those in a three point form factor (FF) of the half-BPS operator in ${\cal N}=4$ Supersymmetric Yang Mills (SYM) theory when the QCD color factors are adjusted in a specific way. We present our results in terms of harmonic polylogs well suited for further numerical study.

Abstract:We present a calculation of the bosonic contribution to the two-loop mixed QCD-electroweak scattering amplitudes for Z -boson production in association with one hard jet at hadron colliders. We employ a method to calculate amplitudes in the 't Hooft-Veltman scheme that reduces the amount of spurious non-physical information needed at intermediate stages of the computation, to keep the complexity of the calculation under control. We compute all the relevant Feynman integrals numerically using the Auxiliary Mass Flow method. We evaluate the two-loop scattering amplitudes on a two-dimensional grid in the rapidity and transverse momentum of the Z boson, which has been designed to yield a reliable numerical sampling of the boosted- Z region. This result provides an important building block for improving the theoretical modelling of a key background for monojet searches at the LHC.

Abstract:We present the precision predictions on the pair production of light, CP-even Higgs in weak vector boson fusion (VBF) up to the QCD next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) at hadron colliders within the CP-conserving type-II two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM(II)) by adopting the structure function approach. We investigate the model parameter dependence, residual uncertainties from the factorization/renormalization scale, PDFs and α_s on the integrated cross section at the QCD NNLO, and find that the NNLO QCD corrections can reduce the scale uncertainty significantly. By analyzing the kinematic distributions of final Higgs bosons, we can extract the CP-even Higgs resonance via H^0 → h^0 h^0 channel as a means of probing the extension of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs sector.
Exact two-loop amplitudes for Higgs plus jet production with a cubic Higgs self-coupling

Abstract:We compute the corrections to the two-loop amplitudes for $gg \to h$, $gg \to hg$, $qg \to hq$, and $q \bar q \to hg$ due to a modified cubic Higgs self-coupling. The exact dependence on the Higgs and top-quark masses across the entire $2 \to 2$ phase space is determined by numerically solving a system of differential equations for the relevant master integrals. The calculated amplitudes are crucial for evaluating the impact of the considered corrections on exclusive $pp \to hj$ production at the hadronic event level. As an application, we calculate the non-universal, kinematic-dependent cubic Higgs self-coupling corrections to the Higgs-boson transverse momentum distribution in gluon-gluon fusion Higgs production for arbitrary values of the transverse momentum.
