Abstract:Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic $p$. In this article, we classify representations of $\mathbb{G}_a \rtimes \mathbb{G}_m$ into ${\rm SL}(3, k)$, and thereby we classify fundamental representations of $\mathbb{G}_a$ into ${\rm SL}(3, k)$.

Abstract:Let K K be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, and let G G be a connected reductive algebraic group over K K . We address the problem of classifying triples ( G , H , V ) (G,H,V) , where H H is a proper connected subgroup of G G , and V V is a finite-dimensional irreducible G G -module such that the restriction of V V to H H is multiplicity-free – that is, each of its composition factors appears with multiplicity 1. A great deal of classical work, going back to Dynkin, Howe, Kac, Stembridge, Weyl and others, and also more recent work of the authors, can be set in this context. In this paper we determine all such triples in the case where H H and G G are both simple algebraic groups of type A A , and H H is embedded irreducibly in G G . While there are a number of interesting familes of such triples ( G , H , V ) (G,H,V) , the possibilities for the highest weights of the representations defining the embeddings H > G H>G and G > G L ( V ) G>GL(V) are very restricted. For example, apart from two exceptional cases, both weights can only have support on at most two fundamental weights; and in many of the examples, one or other of the weights corresponds to the alternating or symmetric square of the natural module for either G G or H H .

Abstract:Let $G$ be a simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field $\Bbbk$ of positive characteristic. We consider the questions of when the tensor product of two simple $G$-modules is multiplicity free or completely reducible. We develop tools for answering these questions in general, and we use them to provide complete answers for the groups $G = \mathrm{SL}_3(\Bbbk)$ and $G = \mathrm{Sp}_4(\Bbbk)$.

Abstract:Let $p$ be a prime number, $F $ a non-archimedean local field with residue characteristic $p$, and $R$ an algebraically closed field of characteristic different from $ p$. We thoroughly investigate the irreducible smooth $R$-representations of $SL_2(F)$. The components of an irreducible smooth $R$-representation $\Pi$ of $GL_2(F)$ restricted to $SL_2(F)$ form an $L$-packet $L(\Pi)$. We use the classification of such $\Pi$ to determine the cardinality of $L(\Pi)$, which is $1,2$ or $4$. When $p=2$ we have to use the Langlands correspondence for $GL_2(F)$. When $\ell$ is a prime number distinct from $p$ and $R=\mathbb Q_\ell^{ac}$, we establish the behaviour of an integral $L$-packet under reduction modulo $\ell$. We prove a Langlands correspondence for $SL_2(F)$, and even an enhanced one when the characteristic of $R$ is not $2$. Finally, pursuing a theme of \cite{HV23}, which studied the case of inner forms of $GL_n(F)$, we show that near identity an irreducible smooth R-representation of $SL_2(F)$ is, up to a finite dimensional representation, isomorphic to a sum of $1,2$ or $4$ representations in an $L$-packet of size $4$ (when $p$ is odd there is only one such $L$-packet).

Abstract:Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$. In this master thesis, we classify multiplicity-free tensor products of simple modules for the groups $SL_2(k)$ and $SL_3(k)$. We also provide a classification for $SL_n(k)$ when $p=2$ and give partial results in the case of $Sp_4(k)$.

Abstract:In this paper, the module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) = H(e(i), f(i), k(i)(+/- 1))(1 <= i <= m)., on the coordinate algebra of quantum vector spaces are studied. We denote the coordinate algebra of quantum n-dimensional vector space by A(q)(n). As our main result, first, we give a complete classification of module-algebra structures of U-p(sl(m + 1)) on A(q)(3) when k(i) is an element of Aut L(A(q)(3)) as actions on A(q)(3) for i = 1,...,m and m >= 2 and with the same method, on A(q)(2), all module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) are characterized. Lastly, the module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) on A(q)(n) are obtained for any n >= 4.

Abstract:In the previous paper, we proposed a practical method of constructing explicitly representation groups $R(G)$ for finite groups $G$, and apply it to certain typical finite groups $G$ with Schur multiplier $M(G)$ containing prime number 3. In this paper, we construct a complete list of irreducible projective (or spin) representations of $G$ and compute their characters (called spin characters). It is a continuation of our study of spin representations in the cases where $M(G)$ contains prime number 2 to the cases where other prime $p$ appears, firstly $p=3$. We classify irreducible spin representations and calculate spin characters according to their spin types.

Abstract:We study the rational Cherednik algebra $H_{t,c}(S_3,\h)$ of type $A_2$ in positive characteristic $p$, and its irreducible category $\mathcal{O}$ representations $L_{t,c}(\tau)$. For every possible value of $p,t,c$, and $\tau$ we calculate the Hilbert polynomial and the character of $L_{t,c}(\tau)$, and give explicit generators of the maximal proper graded submodule of the Verma module.

Abstract:The space of representations of a surface group into a given simple Lie group is a very active area of research and is particularly relevant to higher Teichmüller theory. For a closed surface, classical Teichmüller space is a connected component of the moduli space of representations into $PSL(2, \mathbb{R})$ and [Fock:2006] showed that the space of positive representations into $PSL(k, \mathbb{R})$ coincides with the Hitchin component. In this paper we study representations of finitely generated groups into $PGL(k, \mathbb{C})$ and determine necessary and sufficient conditions for such a representation to be conjugate into $PGL(k, \mathbb{R})$. In this way, we identify representations in the larger representation variety which are conjugate in $PGL(k, \mathbb{C})$ to a representation in $\hom ( \pi_1 (\Sigma), PGL(k, \mathbb{R}) ) / PGL(k, \mathbb{R})$.

Abstract:We study generic representations of general linear groups over a finite ring R with coefficients in a field k in which the cardinality of R is invertible, that is functors from finitely-generated projective R-modules to k-vector spaces. We obtain especially a classification of such simple representations, what allows to prove a conjecture of Djament-Touz{é}-Vespa on dimensions taken by such a functor.

Abstract:Schur multiplier $M(G)$ of a finite group $G$ has been studied heavily. To proceed further to the study of projective (or spin) representations of $G$ and their characters (called spin characters), it is necessary to construct explicitly a representation group $R(G)$ of $G$, a certain central extension of $G$ by $M(G)$, since projective representations of $G$ correspond bijectively to linear representations of $R(G)$. We propose here a practical method to construct $R(G)$ by repetition of one-step efficient central extensions according to a certain choice of a series of elements of $M(G)$. This method is also helpful for constructing linear representations of $R(G)$ and accordingly for calculating spin characters. Actually, we will apply this method to several examples of $G$ with prime number 3 in $M(G)$.

Modular Representations of Truncated current Lie algebras

Abstract:In this paper we consider the structure and representation theory of truncated current algebras $\mathfrak{g}_m = \mathfrak{g}[t]/(t^{m+1})$ associated to the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ of a standard reductive group over a field of positive characteristic. We classify semisimple and nilpotent elements and describe their associated support varieties. Next, we prove various Morita equivalences for reduced enveloping algebras, including a reduction to nilpotent $p$-characters, analogous to a famous theorem of Friedlander--Parshall. We go on to give precise upper bounds for the dimensions of simple modules for all $p$-characters, and give lower bounds on these dimensions for homogeneous $p$-characters. We then develop the theory of baby Verma modules for homogeneous $p$-characters and, whenever the $p$-character has standard Levi type, we give a full classification of the simple modules. In particular we classify all simple modules with homogeneous $p$-characters for $\mathfrak{g}_m$ when $\mathfrak{g} = \mathfrak{gl}_n$. Finally, we compute the Cartan invariants for the restricted enveloping algebra $U_0(\mathfrak{g}_m)$ and show that they can be described by precise formulae depending on decomposition numbers for $U_0(\mathfrak{g})$.

Abstract:In this paper, we used the free fields of Wakimoto to construct a class of irreducible representations for the general linear Lie superalgebra glm|n(C). The structures of the representations over the general linear Lie superalgebra and the special linear Lie superalgebra are studied in this paper. Then we extend the construction to the affine Kac–Moody Lie superalgebra glm|nˆ(C) on the tensor product of a polynomial algebra and an exterior algebra with infinitely many variables involving one parameter μ, and we also obtain the necessary and sufficient condition for the representations to be irreducible. In fact, the representation is irreducible if and only if the parameter μ is nonzero.

Abstract:Let $p<q$ be odd primes, $\rho_1$ and $\rho_2$ be irreducible representations of $\text{SL}(2,\mathbb{Z}_p)$ and $\text{SL}(2,\mathbb{Z}_q)$ of dimensions $\frac{p+1}{2}$ and $\frac{q+1}{2}$, respectively. We show that if $\rho_1\oplus\rho_2$ can be realized as modular representation associated to a modular fusion category $\mathcal{C}$, then $q-p=4$. Moreover, if $\mathcal{C}$ contains a non-trivial étale algebra, then $\mathcal{C}\boxtimes\mathcal{C}(\mathbb{Z}_p,\eta)\cong\mathcal{Z}(\mathcal{A})$ as braided fusion category, where $\mathcal{A}$ is a near-group fusion category of type $(\mathbb{Z}_p,p)$. And we show that there exists a non-trivial $\mathbb{Z}_2$-extension of $\mathcal{A}$ that contains simple objects of Frobenius-Perron dimension $\frac{\sqrt{p}+\sqrt{q}}{2}$.

Abstract:Let $W_{r}(\mathbb{F}_{q})$ be the ring of Witt vectors of length $r$ with residue field $\mathbb{F}_{q}$ of characteristic $p$. In this paper, we study the defining characteristic case of the representations of $\mathrm{GL}_{n}$ and $\mathrm{SL}_{n}$ over the principal ideal local rings $W_{r}(\mathbb{F}_{q})$ and $\mathbb{F}_{q}[t]/t^{r}$. Let ${\mathbf{G}}$ be either $\mathrm{GL}_{n}$ or $\mathrm{SL}_{n}$ and $F$ a perfect field of characteristic $p$, we prove that for most $p$ the group algebras $F[{\mathbf{G}}(W_{r}(\mathbb{F}_{q}))]$ and $F[{\mathbf{G}}(\mathbb{F}_{q}[t]/t^{r})]$ are not stably equivalent of Morita type. Thus, the group algebras $F[{\mathbf{G}}(W_{r}(\mathbb{F}_{q}))]$ and $F[{\mathbf{G}}(\mathbb{F}_{q}[t]/t^{r})]$ are not isomorphic in the defining characteristic case.

Abstract:We study two classical representations of Artin's braid group and their modulo $p$ reductions. We use topological methods to show that the Gassner representation $\tau_n: B_n\to\text{GL}_n(\mathbb{Z}[t_1^{\pm 1}, \ldots, t_n^{\pm 1}])$ is faithful for all $n$, and furthermore that it is faithful modulo $p$ for all integers $p>1$. We then give a novel proof that the Burau representation of $B_3$ is faithful modulo $p$ for all $p>1$, and suggest applications to the modulo $p$ Burau representation for higher braid groups.

We construct maximal simple k-types of Levi subgroups M' of SLn(F), when F is a non-archimedean locally compact field of residual characteristic p, which is to say that any cuspidal k-representation of M' can be compactly induced from an irreducible k-representation of a compact modulo centre subgroup of M', and we also prove the unicity property of intertwining implies conjugacy for maximal simple k-types, extended maximal simple k-types and simple k-characters of M'.

Abstract:Let $p$ be an odd prime and let $k$ be a field of characteristic $p$. We provide a practical algebraic description of the representation ring of $k\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$ modulo projectives. We then investigate a family of modular plethysms of the natural $k\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$-module $E$ of the form $\nabla^{\nu}\mathrm{Sym}^l E$ for a partition $\nu$ of size less than $p$ and $0\leq l\leq p-2$. Within this family we classify both the modular plethysms of $E$ which are projective and the modular plethysms of $E$ which have only one non-projective indecomposable summand which is moreover irreducible. We generalise these results to similar classifications where modular plethysms of $E$ are replaced by $k\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$-modules of the form $\nabla^{\nu} V$, where $V$ is a non-projective indecomposable $k\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$-module and $|\nu|<p$.
