Abstract:We present the topological transitivity of a class of diffeomorphisms on the thickened torus, including the partially hyperbolic example introduced by Ittai Kan in 1994, which is well known for the first systems with the intermingled basins phenomenon.

Abstract:We construct a family of partially hyperbolic skew-product diffeomorphisms on T-3 that are robustly transitive and admitting two physical measures with intermingled basins. In particularly, all these diffeomorphisms are not topologically mixing. Moreover, for every such example, it exhibits a dichotomy under perturbation: every perturbation of such example either has a unique physical measure and is robustly topologically mixing, or has two physical measures with intermingled basins.

Abstract:In this paper, we study transitive partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms with one-dimensional topologically neutral center, meaning that the length of the iterate of small center segments remains small. Such systems are dynamically coherent. We show that there exists a continuous metric along the center foliation which is invariant under the dynamics. As an application, we classify the transitive partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms on 3-manifolds with topologically neutral center.

Abstract:In this paper, we study transitivity of partially hyperbolic endomorphisms of the two torus whose action in the first homology group has two integer eigenvalues of moduli greater than one. We prove that if the Jacobian is everywhere greater than the modulus of the largest eigenvalue, then the map is robustly transitive. For this, we introduce Blichfedt's theorem as a tool for extracting dynamical information from the action of a map in homology. We also treat the case of specially partially hyperbolic endomorphisms, for which we obtain a complete dichotomy: either the map is transitive and conjugated to its linear part, or its unstable foliation must contain an annulus which may either be wandering or periodic.

Abstract:We prove that in the moduli space Md of degree d2 rational maps, any hyperbolic component in the disconnectedness locus and of Cantor circle type is a finite quotient of R4d-4-nxTn, where n is determined by dynamics. The proof uses some ideas from Riemann surface theory (Abel's Theorem), dynamical system and algebraic topology.

Abstract:We propose and investigate two types, the latter with two variants, of notions of partial hyperbolicity accounting for several classes of compact complex manifolds behaving hyperbolically in certain directions, defined by a vector subbundle of the holomorphic tangent bundle, but not necessarily in the other directions. We study several classes of examples, prove implications among these notions, give a sufficient criterion for the existence of an Ahlfors current and a sufficient criterion for partial hyperbolicity in terms of the signs of two curvature-like objects introduced recently by the second-named author.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of topological hyperbolicity to characterize the largeness of the topological fundamental group of a complex variety. Inspired by the Shafarevich conjecture, we propose to study the topological hyperbolicity of moduli spaces of polarized manifolds. We provide two pieces of supporting evidence: first, we show that moduli spaces where the infinitesimal Torelli theorem holds are very close to being topologically hyperbolic. Second, we establish a weak form of topological hyperbolicity for moduli spaces of elliptic surfaces of Kodaira dimension one without multiple fibers, where the infinitesimal Torelli theorem generally does not hold.

Abstract:In this note we show that all partially hyperbolic automorphisms on a 3-dimensional non-Abelian nilmanifold can be C1-approximated by structurally stable C∞-diffeomorphisms, whose chain recurrent set consists of one attractor and one repeller. In particular, all these partially hyperbolic automorphisms are not robustly transitive. As a corollary, the holonomy maps of the stable and unstable foliations of the approximating diffeomorphisms are twisted quasiperiodically forced circle homeomorphisms, which are transitive but non-minimal and satisfy certain fiberwise regularity properties.

Abstract:We derive a necessary and sufficient condition for an $\Omega-$stable diffeomorphism to be a topologically transitive Anosov diffeomorphism: to exhibit a nonempty intersection of the stable and unstable manifolds of any pair of periodic orbits. To elucidate its dynamical nature, we compare this condition with other properties known to be sufficient for an Anosov diffeomorphism to be topologically transitive. We also describe the $C^1$ interior of the set of diffeomorphisms which comply with this condition, discuss examples with a variety of dynamics and present some applications of interest.

Abstract:We show that for every non-elementary hyperbolic group, an associated topological flow space admits a coding based on a transitive subshift of finite type. Applications include regularity results for Manhattan curves, the uniqueness of measures of maximal Hausdorff dimension with potentials, and the real analyticity of intersection numbers for families of dominated representation, thus providing a direct proof of a result established by Bridgeman, Canary, Labourie and Sambarino in 2015.

Abstract:The topological equivalence classification for linear flows on $\mathbb{R}^n$ had been completely solved by Kuiper and independently Ladis in 1973. However, Ladis' proof was published in a Russian journal which isn't easily available, Kuiper's proof is more topological and a little bit subtle. Aiming at topological conjugacy classification, mainly based on the ideas of Kuiper, we introduce other techniques and try to present an elementary and self-contained proof just using linear algebra and elementary topology.

Abstract:We describe an example of a $C^\infty$ diffeomorphism on a 7--manifold which has a compact invariant set such that uncountably many of its connected components are pseudocircles. (Any 7--manifold will suffice.) Furthermore, any diffeomorphism which is sufficiently close (in the $C^1$ metric) to the constructed map has a similar invariant set, and the dynamics of the map on the invariant set are chaotic.
