Abstract:We show that the Legendrian lift of an exact, displaceable Lagrangian has vanishing Shelukhin-Chekanov-Hofer pseudo-metric by lifting an argument due to Sikorav to the contactization. In particular, this proves the existence of such Legendrians, providing counterexamples to a conjecture of Rosen and Zhang.

Abstract:We show that Legendrian pre-quantization lifts of many non-exact Lagrangian submanifolds in $\mathbb{C}^n$ retain some quantitative rigidity from the symplectic base. In particular, they cannot be moved by Legendrian isotopy into an arbitrarily small pre-quantized cylinder. This is a high dimensional generalization of results of Dimitroglou Rizell--Sullivan in dimension 3. In this setting, we give a new proof of non-squeezing using normal rulings, and in high dimension, we obtain our results using a category of (micro)sheaves associated to a Legendrian submanifold of pre-quantizations.

Abstract:In this paper, we first establish an L-2-type Dolbeault isomorphism for logarithmic differential forms by Hrmander's L-2 estimates. By using this isomorphism and the construction of smooth Hermitian metrics, we obtain a number of new vanishing theorems for sheaves of logarithmic differential forms on compact Kahler manifolds with simple normal crossing divisors, which generalize several classical vanishing theorems, including Norimatsu's vanishing theorem, Girbau's vanishing theorem, Le Potier's vanishing theorem, and a version of the Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem.
Small energy isotopies of loose Legendrian submanifolds

Abstract:We prove that for a closed Legendrian submanifold $L$ of dimension $n \geq 2$ with a loose chart of size $\eta$, any Legendrian isotopy starting at $L$ can be $C^0$-approximated by a Legendrian isotopy with energy arbitrarily close to $\frac{\eta}{2}$. This in particular implies that the displacement energy of loose displaceable Legendrians is bounded by half the size of its smallest loose chart, which proves a conjecture of Dimitroglou Rizell and Sullivan.

Lagrangian cobordism functor in microlocal sheaf theory II

Abstract:For an exact Lagrangian cobordism $L$ between Legendrians in $J^1(M)$ from $\Lambda_-$ to $\Lambda_+$ whose Legendrian lift is $\widetilde{L}$, we prove that sheaves in $Sh_{\widetilde{L}}(M \times \mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}_{>0})$ are equivalent to sheaves at the negative end $Sh_{\Lambda_-}(M \times \mathbb{R})$ together with the data of local systems $Loc({L})$ by studying sheaf quantizations for general noncompact Lagrangians. Thus we interpret the Lagrangian cobordism functor between $Sh_{\Lambda_\pm}(M \times \mathbb{R})$ as a correspondence parametrized by $Loc({L})$. This enables one to consider generalizations to immersed Lagrangian cobordisms. We also prove that the Lagrangian cobordism functor is action decreasing and recover results on the lengths of embedded Lagrangian cobordisms. Finally, using the construction of Courte-Ekholm, we obtain a family of Legendrians with sheaf categories Morita equivalent to chains of based loop spaces of the Lagrangian fillings.

Legendrian invariants and half Giroux torsion

Abstract:We collect some observations about Legendrian links with non-vanishing contact invariants, mostly concerning the non-loose realizations of links and the addition of boundary-parallel half Giroux torsion. In particular, we show that every null-homologous link with irreducible complement admits a non-loose Legendrian realization with non-zero (at least) invariant $\text{EH}$ in $\text{SFH}$, in some overtwisted contact structure (determined by its gradings); for many links these come from Gabai's work, for others the existence follows from the sutured interpretation of link Floer invariants. We reveal that separating half Giroux torsion does not necessary cause Legendrian invariants to vanish. Furthermore, we propose a conjectural characterization of links with non-vanishing $\widehat{\mathfrak L}$ in $\widehat{\text{HFL}}$ among links with non-zero $\mathfrak L$ in $c\text{HFL}^-$.

A Variational Theory for The Area of Legendrian Surfaces

Abstract:We study a new notion of critical point for the area of surfaces under the Legendrian constraint, called parametrized Hamiltonian stationary Legendrian varifolds (PHSLVs). We establish several fundamental properties of these objects, including their sequential compactness and an optimal regularity result, showing that they are smooth immersions away from a locally finite set of branch points and Schoen Wolfson conical singularities. This generalizes in particular the regularity theory of Schoen Wolfson for minimizers to general critical points. This theory can be used to show two new variational results: every minmax operation with the area of (closed, immersed) Legendrian surfaces in a closed Sasakian 5-dimensional manifold is achieved by a Hamiltonian stationary map with this regularity; also, the minimal area in any given exact isotopy class of Legendrian immersions of $S^2$ is realized by such a map. Along the way, we prove an effective monotonicity formula for general two-dimensional stationary varifolds in the Legendrian setting, as well as the closure of integral stationary varifolds among rectifiable ones, in spite of the lack of compactness of the latter.

Persistent Legendrian contact homology in $\mathbb{R}^3$

Abstract:This work applies the ideas of persistent homology to the problem of distinguishing Legendrian knots. We develop a persistent version of Legendrian contact homology by filtering the Chekanov-Eliashberg DGA using the action (height) functional. We present an algorithm for assigning heights to a Lagrangian diagram of a Legendrian knot, and we explain how each Legendrian Reidemeister move changes the height of generators of the DGA in a way that is predictable on the level of homology. More precisely, a Reidemeister move that changes an area patch of a Lagrangian diagram by {\delta} will induce a 2{\delta}-interleaving on the persistent Legendrian contact homology, computed before and after the Reidemeister move. Finally, we develop strong Morse inequalities for our persistent Legendrian contact homology.

Legendrian non-isotopic unit conormal bundles in high dimensions

Abstract:For any compact connected submanifold $K$ of $\mathbb{R}^n$, let $\Lambda_K$ denote its unit conormal bundle, which is a Legendrian submanifold of the unit cotangent bundle of $\mathbb{R}^n$. In this paper, we give examples of pairs $(K_0,K_1)$ of compact connected submanifolds of $\mathbb{R}^n$ such that $\Lambda_{K_0}$ is not Legendrian isotopic to $\Lambda_{K_1}$, although they cannot be distinguished by classical invariants. Here, $K_1$ is the image of an embedding $\iota_f \colon K_0 \to \mathbb{R}^n$ which is regular homotopic to the inclusion map of $K_0$ and the codimension in $\mathbb{R}^n$ is greater than or equal to $4$. As non-classical invariants, we define the strip Legendrian contact homology and a coproduct on it under certain conditions on Legendrian submanifolds. Then, we give a purely topological description of these invariants for $\Lambda_K$ when the codimension of $K$ is greater than or equal to $4$. The main examples $\Lambda_{K_0}$ and $\Lambda_{K_1}$ are distinguished by the coproduct, which is computed by using an idea of string topology.

Lagrangian metric geometry with Riemannian bounds

Abstract:We study collections of exact Lagrangian submanifolds respecting some uniform Riemannian bounds, which we equip with a metric naturally arising in symplectic topology (e.g. the Lagrangian Hofer metric or the spectral metric). We exhibit many metric and symplectic properties of these spaces, such that they have compact completions and that they contain only finitely many Hamiltonian isotopy classes. We then use this to exclude many unusual phenomena from happening in these bounded spaces. Taking limits in the bounds, we also conclude that there are at most countably many Hamiltonian isotopy classes of exact Lagrangian submanifolds in a Liouville manifold. Under some mild topological assumptions, we get analogous results for monotone Lagrangian submanifolds with a fixed monotonicity constant. Finally, in the process of showing these results, we get new results on the Riemannian geometry of cotangent bundles and surfaces which might be of independent interest.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove Shelukhin's conjecture on the translated points on \emph{any closed} contact manifold $(Q,\xi)$ which reads that for any choice of function $H = H(t,x)$ and contact form $\lambda$ the contactomorphism $\psi_H^1$ carries a translated point in the sense of Sandon, whenever the inequality $$ \|H\| \leq T(\lambda,M) $$ holds the case. Main geometro-analytical tools are those of bordered contact instantons employed in \cite{oh:entanglement1} with Legendrian boundary condition via the Legendrianization of contact diffeomorphisms. In addition, the usage of the $\mathbb Z_2$-symmetry of anti-contact involution plays an important role to overcome \emph{non-tameness} of the contact product $M_Q: = Q \times Q \times \mathbb R$ in the proof of the main theorem of the present paper. Along the way, we utilize the functorial construction of the \emph{contact product} that carries an involutive symmetry and develop relevant contact Hamiltonian geometry with involutive symmetry. This involutive symmetry plays a fundamental role in our proof in combination with the analysis of contact instantons.

Abstract:The purposes of the present paper are two-fold. Firstly we further develop the interplay between the contact Hamiltonian geometry and the geometric analysis of Hamiltonian-perturbed contact instantons with the Legendrian boundary condition, which is initiated by the present author in \cite{oh:contacton-Legendrian-bdy}. We introduce the class of \emph{tame contact manifolds} $(M,\lambda)$, which includes compact ones but not necessarily compact, and establish uniform a priori $C^0$-estimates for the contact instantons. Then we study the problem of estimating the Reeb-untangling energy of one Legendrian submanifold from another, and formulate a particularly designed parameterized moduli space for the study of the problem. We establish the Gromov-Floer-Hofer type convergence result for contact instantons of finite energy and construct its compactification of the moduli space, first by defining the correct energy and then by proving uniform a priori energy bounds in terms of the oscillation of the relevant contact Hamiltonian. Secondly, as an application of this geometry and analysis of contact instantons, we prove that the \emph{self Reeb-untangling energy} of a compact Legendrian submanifold $R$ in any tame contact manifold $(M,\lambda)$ is greater than that of the period gap $T_\lambda(M,R)$ of the Reeb chords of $R$. This is an optimal result in <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://general.In" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> a sequel \cite{oh:shelukhin-conjecture}, we also prove Shelukhin's conjecture specializing to the Legendrianization of contactomorphisms and utilizing its $\mathbb Z_2$-symmetry argument as the fixed point set of anti-contact involution.

Abstract:This work studies Legendrian loop actions on exact Lagrangian fillings of Legendrian links in $(\R^3, \xi_{\st})$. By identifying the induced action of Legendrian loops as generators of cluster modular groups, we establish the existence of faithful group actions on the exact Lagrangian fillings of several families of Legendrian positive braid closures, including all positive torus links. In addition, we leverage a Nielsen-Thurston-like classification of cluster automorphisms to provide new combinatorial and algebraic tools for proving that a Legendrian loop action has infinite order.

Abstract:In this article, we give an explicit computation of the order spectral selectors of a pair of $C^1$-close Legendrian submanifolds belonging to an orderable isotopy class. The $C^1$-local flatness of the spectral distance and the characterisation of its geodesics are deduced. Another consequence is the $C^1$-local coincidence of spectral and Shelukhin-Chekanov-Hofer distances. Similar statements are then deduced for several contactomorphism groups.

Abstract:This is the third in a series of papers in which we construct Chekanov-Eliashberg algebras for Legendrians in circle-fibered contact manifolds and study the associated augmentation varieties. In this part, we prove that for connected Legendrian covers of monotone Lagrangian tori, the augmentation variety is equal to the image of the zero level set of the disk potential, as suggested by Dimitroglou-Rizell-Golovko. In particular, we show that Legendrian lifts of Vianna's exotic tori are not Legendrian isotopic. Using related ideas, we show that the Legendrian lift of the Clifford torus admits no exact fillings, extending results of Dimitroglou-Rizell and Treumann-Zaslow in dimension two. We consider certain disconnected Legendrians, and show, similar to another suggestion of Aganagic-Ekholm-Ng-Vafa that the components of the augmentation variety correspond to certain partitions and each component is defined by a (not necessarily exact) Lagrangian filling.

On the Legendrian realisation of parametric families of knots

Abstract:We study the natural inclusion of the space of Legendrian embeddings in $(\mathbb{S}^3,\xi_{\operatorname{std}})$ into the space of smooth embeddings from a homotopical viewpoint. T. Kálmán posed in [Kal] the open question of whether for every fixed knot type $\mathcal{K}$ and Legendrian representative $\mathcal{L}$, the homomorphism $\pi_1(\mathcal{L})\to\pi_1(\mathcal{K})$ is surjective. We positively answer this question for infinitely many knot types $\mathcal{K}$ in the three main families (hyperbolic, torus and satellites) and every stabilised Legendrian representative in $(\mathbb{S}^3,\xi_{\operatorname{std}})$. We then show that for every $n\geq 3$, the homomorphisms $\pi_n(\mathcal{L})\to\pi_n(\mathcal{K})$ and $\pi_n(\mathcal{FL})\to\pi_n(\mathcal{K})$ are never surjective for any knot type $\mathcal K$, Legendrian representative $\mathcal L$ or formal Legendrian representative $\mathcal{FL}$. This shows the existence of rigidity at every higher-homotopy level beyond $\pi_3$. For completeness, we also show that surjectivity at the $\pi_2$-level depends on the smooth knot type.

Abstract:Recently, there are a great deal of work done which connects the Legendrian isotopic problem with contact invariants. The isotopic problem of Legendre curve in a contact 3-manifold was studies via the Legendrian curve shortening flow which was introduced and studied by K. Smoczyk. On the other hand, in the SYZ Conjecture, one can model a special Lagrangian singularity locally as the special Lagrangian cones in C^{3}. This can be characterized by its link which is a minimal Legendrian surface in the 5-sphere. Then in these points of view, in this paper we will focus on the existence of the long-time solution and asymptotic convergence along the Legendrian mean curvature flow in higher dimensional {\eta}-Einstein Sasakian (2n+1)-manifolds under the suitable stability condition due to the Thomas-Yau conjecture.
