Abstract:We discuss a class of bow varieties which can be viewed as Taub-NUT deformations of moduli spaces of instantons on noncommutative $\mathbb R^4$. Via the generalized Legendre transform, we find the Kähler potential on each of these spaces.<

Abstract:The index bundle of a family of Dirac operators associated to an instanton on a multi-Taub-NUT space forms a bow representation. We prove that the gauge equivalence classes of solutions of this bow representation are in one-to-one correspondence with the instantons. We also prove that this correspondence establishes an isometry of the bow and instanton moduli spaces.

Abstract:We prove several formulas related to Hodge theory and the Kodaira–Spencer–Kuranishi deformation theory of Kähler manifolds. As applications, we present a construction of globally convergent power series of integrable Beltrami differentials on Calabi–Yau manifolds and also a construction of global canonical family of holomorphic (n,0) -forms on the deformation spaces of Calabi–Yau manifolds. Similar constructions are also applied to the deformation spaces of compact Kähler manifolds.

Abstract:We show that the moduli space of the (2,0) and little-string theories compactified on T3 with R-symmetry twists is equal to the moduli space of U(1) instantons on a non-commutative T4. The moduli space of U(q) instantons on a non-commutative T4 is obtained from little-string theories of NS5-branes at Aq−1 singularities with twists. A large class of gauge theories with N=4 SUSY in 2+1D and N=2 SUSY in 3+1D are limiting cases of these theories. Hence, the moduli spaces of these gauge theories can be read off from the moduli spaces of instantons on non-commutative tori. We study the phase transitions in these theories and the action of T-duality. On the purely mathematical side, we give a prediction for the moduli space of two U(1) instantons on a non-commutative T4.

Abstract:We classify -instantons admitting -symmetries, and construct a new family of examples on the spinor bundle of the 3-sphere, equipped with the asymptotically conical, co-homogeneity one -metric of Bryant–Salamon. We also show that outside of the -invariant examples, any other -instanton on this metric with the same asymptotic behaviour must have obstructed deformations.

Abstract:We exhibit families of Ricci-flat Kahler metrics on K3 surfaces which collapse to an interval, with Tian-Yau and Taub-NUT metrics occurring as bubbles. There is a corresponding continuous surjective map from the K3 surface to the interval, with regular fibers diffeomorphic to either 3-tori or Heisenberg nilmanifolds.

Abstract:Toric Ricci--flat metrics in dimension four correspond to certain holomorphic vector bundles over a twistor space. We construct these bundles explicitly, by exhibiting and characterising their patching matrices, for the five--parameter family of Riemannian ALF metrics constructed by Chen and Teo. The Chen--Teo family contains a two--parameter family of asymptotically flat gravitational instantons. The patching matrices for these instantons take a simple rational form.

Tetrahedron instantons in Donaldson-Thomas theory

Abstract:Inspired by the work of Pomoni-Yan-Zhang in String Theory, we introduce the moduli space of tetrahedron instantons as a Quot scheme and describe it as a moduli space of quiver representations. We construct a virtual fundamental class and virtual structure sheaf à la Oh-Thomas, by which we define K-theoretic invariants. We show that the partition function of such invariants reproduces the one studied by Pomoni-Yan-Zhang, and explicitly determine it, as a product of shifted partition functions of rank one Donaldson-Thomas invariants of the three-dimensional affine space. Our geometric construction answers a series of questions of Pomoni-Yan-Zhang on the geometry of the moduli space of tetrahedron instantons and the behaviour of its partition function, and provides a new application of the recent work of Oh-Thomas.

Instanton Counting and Donaldson-Thomas Theory on Toric Calabi-Yau Four-Orbifolds

Abstract:We study rank $r$ cohomological Donaldson-Thomas theory on a toric Calabi-Yau orbifold of $\mathbb{C}^4$ by a finite abelian subgroup $\mathsf\Gamma$ of $\mathsf{SU}(4)$, from the perspective of instanton counting in cohomological gauge theory on a noncommutative crepant resolution of the quotient singularity. We describe the moduli space of noncommutative instantons on $\mathbb{C}^4/\mathsf{\Gamma}$ and its generalized ADHM parametrization. Using toric localization, we compute the orbifold instanton partition function as a combinatorial series over $r$-vectors of $\mathsf\Gamma$-coloured solid partitions. When the $\mathsf\Gamma$-action fixes an affine line in $\mathbb{C}^4$, we exhibit the dimensional reduction to rank $r$ Donaldson-Thomas theory on the toric Kahler three-orbifold $\mathbb{C}^3/\mathsf{\Gamma}$. Based on this reduction and explicit calculations, we conjecture closed infinite product formulas, in terms of generalized MacMahon functions, for the instanton partition functions on the orbifolds $\mathbb{C}^2/\mathbb{Z}_n\times\mathbb{C}^2$ and $\mathbb{C}^3/(\mathbb{Z}_2\times\mathbb{Z}_2)\times\mathbb{C}$, finding perfect agreement with new mathematical results of Cao, Kool and Monavari.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss lumps (sigma model instantons) in flag manifold sigma models. In particular, we focus on the moduli space of BPS lumps in general Kähler flag manifold sigma models. Such a Kähler flag manifold, which takes the form , can be realized as a vacuum moduli space of a U( N 1 ) × ··· × U( N L ) quiver gauged linear sigma model. When the gauge coupling constants are finite, the gauged linear sigma model admits BPS vortex configurations, which reduce to BPS lumps in the low energy effective sigma model in the large gauge coupling limit. We derive an ADHM-like quotient construction of the moduli space of BPS vortices and lumps by generalizing the quotient construction in U( N ) gauge theories by Hanany and Tong. As an application, we check the dualities of the 2d models by computing the vortex partition functions using the quotient construction.

Abstract:We construct the exact solution of one (anti-)instanton in $\mathcal{N}=\frac{1}{2}$ super Yang-Mills theory defined on non(anti-)commutative superspace. We first identify $\mathcal{N}=\frac{1}{2}$ superconformal invariance as maximal spacetime symmetry. For the gauge group U(2), the SU(2) part of the solution is given by the standard (anti-)instanton, but the U(1) field strength also turns out to be nonzero. The solution is SO(4) rotationally symmetric. For the gauge group $\mathrm{U}(N),$ in contrast with the U(2) case, we show that the entire $\mathrm{U}(N)$ part of the solution is deformed by non(anti-)commutativity and fermion zero modes. The solution is no longer rotationally symmetric; it is polarized into an axially symmetric configuration because of the underlying non(anti-)commutativity. We compute the ``information metric'' of one (anti-)instanton. We find that the moduli space geometry is deformed from the hyperbolic space ${H}_{5}$ (Euclidean anti--de Sitter space) in a way anticipated from reduced spacetime symmetry. Remarkably, the volume measure of the moduli space turns out to be independent of the non(anti-)commutativity. Implications for D branes in the Ramond-Ramond flux background and the gauge-gravity correspondence are discussed.
Tetrahedron Instantons on Orbifolds

Abstract:Given a homomorphism $\tau$ from a suitable finite group $\mathsf{\Gamma}$ to $\mathsf{SU}(4)$ with image $\mathsf{\Gamma}^\tau$, we construct a cohomological gauge theory on a noncommutative resolution of the quotient singularity $\mathbb{C}^4/\mathsf{\Gamma}^\tau$ whose BRST fixed points are $\mathsf{\Gamma}$-invariant tetrahedron instantons on a generally non-effective orbifold. The partition function computes the expectation values of complex codimension one defect operators in rank $r$ cohomological Donaldson-Thomas theory on a flat gerbe over the quotient stack $[\mathbb{C}^4/\,\mathsf{\Gamma}^\tau]$. We describe the generalized ADHM parametrization of the tetrahedron instanton moduli space, and evaluate the orbifold partition functions through virtual torus localization. If $\mathsf{\Gamma}$ is an abelian group the partition function is expressed as a combinatorial series over arrays of $\mathsf{\Gamma}$-coloured plane partitions, while if $\mathsf{\Gamma}$ is non-abelian the partition function localizes onto a sum over torus-invariant connected components of the moduli space labelled by lower-dimensional partitions. When $\mathsf{\Gamma}=\mathbb{Z}_n$ is a finite abelian subgroup of $\mathsf{SL}(2,\mathbb{C})$, we exhibit the reduction of Donaldson-Thomas theory on the toric Calabi-Yau four-orbifold $\mathbb{C}^2/\,\mathsf{\Gamma}\times\mathbb{C}^2$ to the cohomological field theory of tetrahedron instantons, from which we express the partition function as a closed infinite product formula. We also use the crepant resolution correpondence to derive a closed formula for the partition function on any polyhedral singularity.

Abstract: In the first part of this paper we outline the constructions and properties of Fedosov star product and Berezin-Toeplitz star product. In the second part we outline the basic ideas and recent developments on Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture on the existence of K\"ahler metrics of constant scalar curvature. In the third part of the paper we outline recent results of both authors, and in particular show that the constant scalar curvature K\"ahler metric problem and the study of deformation quantization meet at the notion of trace (density) for star product. We formulate a cohomology formula for the invariant of K-stability condition on K\"ahler metrics with constant Cahen-Gutt momentum.

Abstract:We study D3-instanton corrections to the hypermultiplet moduli space in type IIB string theory compactified on a Calabi-Yau threefold. In a previous work, consistency of D3-instantons with S-duality was established at first order in the instanton expansion, using the modular properties of the M5-brane elliptic genus. We extend this analysis to the two-instanton level, where wall-crossing phenomena start playing a role. We focus on the contact potential, an analogue of the Kahler potential which must transform as a modular form under S-duality. We show that it can be expressed in terms of a suitable modification of the partition function of D4-D2-D0 BPS black holes, constructed out of the generating function of MSW invariants (the latter coincide with Donaldson-Thomas invariants in a particular chamber). Modular invariance of the contact potential then requires that, in case where the D3-brane wraps a reducible divisor, the generating function of MSW invariants must transform as a vector-valued mock modular form, with a specific modular completion built from the MSW invariants of the constituents. Physically, this gives a powerful constraint on the degeneracies of BPS black holes. Mathematically, our result gives a universal prediction for the modular properties of Donaldson-Thomas invariants of pure two-dimensional sheaves.

't Hooft bundles on the complete flag threefold and moduli spaces of instantons

Abstract:In this work we study the moduli space of instanton bundles on the flag twistor space $F:=F(0,1,2)$. We stratify them in terms of the minimal twist supporting global sections and we introduce the notion of (special) 't Hooft bundle on $F$. In particular we prove that there exist $\mu$-stable 't Hooft bundles for each admissible charge $k$. We completely describe the geometric structure of the moduli space of (special) 't Hooft bundles for arbitrary charge $k$. Along the way to reach these goals, we describe the possible structures of multiple curves supported on some rational curves in $F$ as well as the moduli space of del Pezzo surfaces realized as hyperplane sections of $F$. Finally we investigate the splitting behaviour of 't Hooft bundles when restricted to conics.

$G_2$-instantons on the ALC members of the $\mathbb{B}_7$ family

Abstract:Using co-homogeneity one symmetries, we construct a two-parameter family of non-abelian $G_2$-instantons on every member of the asymptotically locally conical $\mathbb{B}_7$-family of $G_2$-metrics on $S^3 \times \mathbb{R}^4 $, and classify the resulting solutions. These solutions can be described as perturbations of a one-parameter family of abelian instantons, arising from the Killing vector-field generating the asymptotic circle fibre. Generically, these perturbations decay exponentially to the model, but we find a one-parameter family of instantons with polynomial decay. Moreover, we relate the two-parameter family to a lift of an explicit two-parameter family of anti-self-dual instantons on Taub-NUT $\mathbb{R}^4$, fibred over $S^3$ in an adiabatic limit.

Abstract:In this article we prove the degeneration limit of the quantum difference equations of instanton moduli space for both algebraic one and the Okounkov-Smirnov geometric one is the Dubrovin connection for the instanton moduli space. As an application, we prove that the Maulik-Okounkov quantum algebra of Jordan type is isomorphic to the quantum toroidal algebra $U_{q_1,q_2}(\hat{\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_1)$ up to some centres.
