Abstract:Existence of symmetric solutions to the Gaussian Minkowski problem was established by Huang, Xi and Zhao. In this paper, we show the existence of non-symmetric solutions to this problem by studying the related Monge-Ampère type equation on the sphere.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is about the existence of asymmetric solutions in the Gaussian Minkowski problem. Specifically, the goal of the paper is to prove that for a given finite Borel measure \(\mu\), there exists a convex body \(K\) such that its Gaussian surface area measure \(S_{\gamma^n, K}\) is equal to \(\mu\), and this solution does not need to be symmetric. ### Background and Problem Description In the classical Minkowski problem, it is necessary to determine whether a given measure on the unit sphere can be the surface area measure of a certain convex body. The Gaussian Minkowski problem is its Gaussian version, which involves the Gaussian surface area measure. Specifically, the Gaussian Minkowski problem can be stated as: **Gaussian Minkowski Problem**: Given a finite Borel measure \(\mu\) on the unit sphere \(S^{n - 1}\), under what conditions does there exist a convex body \(K\in K_o^n\) containing the origin such that \[ S_{\gamma^n, K}=\mu? \] Here, the Gaussian surface area measure \(S_{\gamma^n, K}\) can be defined by the variational formula: \[ \lim_{t\rightarrow0}\frac{\gamma^n(K + tL)-\gamma^n(K)}{t}=\int_{S^{n - 1}}h_L\,dS_{\gamma^n, K}, \] where \(h_L\) is the support function of \(L\). ### Main Contributions of the Paper 1. **Existence of Asymmetric Solutions**: The main goal of the paper is to prove that for any given finite Borel measure \(\mu\) (not concentrated on any closed hemisphere), there exists a convex body \(K\in K_o^n\) containing the origin and a constant \(\tau > 0\) such that \[ S_{\gamma^n, K}=\tau\mu. \] 2. **Removal of Symmetry Assumption**: Previous works (such as Huang, Xi and Zhao [28]) mainly focused on the case of even measures (i.e., symmetric measures). This paper removes the symmetry assumption and studies the existence of solutions under general measures. 3. **Geometric Flow Method**: To prove the above results, the author introduces a geometric flow method and obtains the existence of solutions by studying the related Monge - Ampère type equations. Specifically, the author considers the following geometric flow: \[ \frac{\partial X}{\partial t}(x,t)=f(\nu)S(x,t)e^{-|X|^2/2}\langle X,\nu\rangle\nu-(\sqrt{2\pi})^n\tau(t)X(x,t), \] where \(f\) is a given positive smooth function, \(S(x,t)\) is the product of principal curvature radii, and \(\tau(t)\) is a normalization factor. ### Conclusion By introducing the geometric flow and using approximation arguments, the author successfully proves the existence of asymmetric solutions in the Gaussian Minkowski problem under general measures. This result extends the previous research limited to symmetric measures and provides new perspectives and methods for further research on the Gaussian Minkowski problem.
