Abstract:In this paper, we combined two types of partitions and introduced 2-colored Rogers-Ramanujan partitions. By finding some functional equations and using a constructive method, some identities have been found. Some Overpartition identities coincide with our findings. A correspondence between colored partitions and overpartitions is provided.
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to combine two types of partitions, namely colored partitions and Rogers - Ramanujan type partitions, and introduce a new partition type - 2 - colored Rogers - Ramanujan partitions. By finding some functional equations and using construction methods, the author discovers some identities related to this new partition. In addition, the author also provides a correspondence between 2 - colored partitions and overpartitions, which helps to understand the deep - level connections of these partition structures.
Specifically, in the paper, 2 - colored Rogers - Ramanujan partitions are defined. Such a partition consists of two parts, each part has the same color, and the difference between any two consecutive parts of the same color is at least 2, and parts of different colors are disjoint. Through this method, the author not only finds the generating functions related to these partitions but also proves the consistency between these generating functions and some known overpartition identities.
For example, a key result in the paper is Theorem 1.2, which shows that the number \( R(n) \) of 2 - colored Rogers - Ramanujan partitions can be expressed as:
\[ R(n)=\frac{(-q)_{\infty}(q^{2}, q^{2}, q^{4}; q^{4})_{\infty}}{(q)_{\infty}} \]
The symbol \( (a; q)_{n} \) used here represents the \( q \)-Pochhammer symbol, which is defined as:
\[ (a; q)_{n}=\prod_{i = 0}^{n-1}(1 - aq^{i}) \]
When \( n\rightarrow\infty \), it is denoted as \( (a; q)_{\infty} \).
Furthermore, the paper also explores the correspondence between 2 - colored Rogers - Ramanujan partitions and overpartitions, especially the correspondence with a specific type of overpartitions \( D_{k,a}(n) \). This correspondence not only deepens the understanding of these partition structures but also provides a new direction for further research.
