Some convergence results and linear convergence results are established, which extend the corresponding ones from Hilbert spaces to Hadamrd manifolds. Abstract:The non-bijective version of Wigner's theorem states that a map which is defined on the set of self-adjoint, rank-one projections (or pure states) of a complex Hilbert space and which preserves the transition probability between any two elements, is induced by a linear or antilinear isometry. We present a completely new, elementary and very short proof of this famous theorem which is very important in quantum mechanics. We do not assume bijectivity of the mapping or separability of the underlying space like in many other proofs.

Abstract:We propose and study an alternating inertial algorithm for approximating a solution to the variational inequality problem on an Hadamard manifold. The proposed method combines the inertial technique and the Tseng extragradient method with self-adaptive step sizes. We establish some convergence results for our iterative procedure when the variational inequality problem is governed by pseudomonotone vector fields. We present the results of some numerical experiments which show the competitive advantage of our algorithm over earlier methods in the literature.

Abstract:Various results based on some convexity assumptions (involving the exponential map along with affine maps, geodesics and convex hulls) have been recently established on Hadamard manifolds. In this paper we prove that these conditions are mutually equivalent and they hold if and only if the Hadamard manifold is isometric to the Euclidean space. In this way, we show that some results in the literature obtained on Hadamard manifolds are actually nothing but their well known Euclidean counterparts.

Abstract:A recognized trend of research investigates generalizations of the Hadamard's inversion theorem to functions that may fail to be differentiable. In this vein, the present paper explores some consequences of a recent result about the existence of global Lipschitz continuous inverse by translating its assumptions of metric nature in terms of nonsmooth analysis constructions. This exploration focuses on continuous, but possibly not locally Lipschitz mappings, acting in finite-dimensional Euclidean spaces. As a result, sufficient conditions for global invertibility are formulated by means of strict estimators, ∗ -difference of convex compacta and regular/basic coderivatives. These conditions qualify the global inverse as a Lipschitz continuous mapping and provide quantitative estimates of its Lipschitz constant in terms of the above constructions.

Abstract:We develop the Perron-Frobenius theory using a variational approach and extend it to a set of arbitrary matrices, including those that are neither irreducible nor essentially positive, and non-preserved cones. We introduce a new concept called a quasi-eigenvalue of a matrix, which is invariant under orthogonal transformations of variables, and has various useful properties, such as determining the largest value of the real parts of the eigenvalues of a matrix. We extend Weyl's inequality for the eigenvalues to the set of arbitrary matrices and prove the new stability result to the Perron root of irreducible nonnegative matrices under arbitrary perturbations. As well as this, we obtain new types of estimates for the ranges of the sets of eigenvalues and their real parts.

The Beurling and Malliavin Theorem in Several Dimensions

Abstract:The present paper is devoted to a new multidimensional generalization of the Beurling and Malliavin Theorem, which is a classical result in the Uncertainty Principle in Fourier Analysis. In more detail, we establish by an elegant but simple new method a sufficient condition for a radial function to be a Beurling and Malliavin majorant in several dimensions (this means that the function in question can be minorized by the modulus of a square integrable function which is not zero identically and which has the support of the Fourier transform included in an arbitrary small ball). As a corollary of the radial case, we also get a new sharp sufficient condition in the nonradial case. The latter result provides an answer to a question posed by L. Hörmander. Our proof is different in the cases of odd and even dimensions. In the even dimensional case we make use of one classical formula from the theory of Bessel functions due to N. Ya. Sonin.

Abstract:We study equilibrium problems in Hadamard spaces, which extend variational inequalities and many other problems in nonlinear analysis. In this paper, first we study the existence of solutions of equilibrium problems associated with pseudo-monotone bifunctions with suitable conditions on the bifunctions in Hadamard spaces. Then to approximate of an equilibrium point, we consider the proximal point algorithm for pseudo-monotone bifunctions. We prove existence of the sequence generated by the algorithm in several cases in Hadamard spaces. Next, we introduce the resolvent of a bifunction in Hadamard spaces. We prove convergence of the resolvent to an equilibrium point. We also prove $\bigtriangleup$-convergence of the sequence generated by the proximal point algorithm to an equilibrium point of the pseudo-monotone bifunction and also the strong convergence with additional assumptions on the bifunction. Finally, we study a regularization of Halpern type and prove the strong convergence of the generated sequence to an equilibrium point without any additional assumption on the pseudo-monotone bifunction. Some examples in fixed point theory and convex minimization are also presented.

Abstract:In this note, we give a counterexample to show that Hadamard’s inequality does not hold on a polyhedron in multi-dimensional Euclidean space. Abstract:This article continues the study of the Hadamard–Bergman operators in the unit disk of the complex plane. These operators arose as a natural generalization of orthogonal projections and represent an integral realization of multiplier operators. However, the study of operators in integral form offers a number of advantages in the context of the application of the theory of integral operators as well as in the study of certain function spaces such as holomorphic Hölder functions to which the multiplier theory does not apply. As a main result, we prove boundedness theorems for the Hadamard–Bergman operators and variable Hadamard–Bergman operators using the technique of operators with homogeneous kernels earlier developed in real analysis.

Abstract:In this article, we propose two modified proximal point algorithms for computing the solutions of the inclusion problems in the setting of Hadamard manifolds. In the first algorithm, we use line search method, whereas in the second algorithm, we use simple self adaptive stepsize rule. Abstract:We introduce the Hadamard decomposition problem in the context of data analysis. The problem is to represent exactly or approximately a given matrix as the Hadamard (or element-wise) product of two or more low-rank matrices. The motivation for this problem comes from situations where the input matrix has a multiplicative structure. The Hadamard decomposition has potential for giving more succint but equally accurate representations of matrices when compared with the gold-standard of singular value decomposition ( svd ). Namely, the Hadamard product of two rank- matrices can have rank as high as . We study the computational properties of the Hadamard decomposition problem and give gradient-based algorithms for solving it approximately. We also introduce a mixed model that combines svd and Hadamard decomposition. We present extensive empirical results comparing the approximation accuracy of the Hadamard decomposition with that of the svd using the same number of basis vectors. The results demonstrate that the Hadamard decomposition is competitive with the svd and, for some datasets, it yields a clearly higher approximation accuracy, indicating the presence of multiplicative structure in the data.

Abstract:We introduce the Hadamard–Bergman convolution on the half-plane. We show that it exists in terms of the Hadamard product and it is commutative on the Bergman space (more appropriately called the Bergman–Jerbashian space) in the half-plane. Further, we explore mapping properties of the generalized Bergman-type operators with exponential weights in weighted Bergman spaces in the half-plane. Finally, we deduce sharp inclusions for weighted Bergman spaces, from corresponding Sobolev-type inequalities.

The matrices under consideration are defined by $3n-1$ parameters and their lower Hessenberg form inverses are expressed analytically in terms of these parameters. Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the concepts of bifunction and geodesic convexity for vector valued functions on Hadamard manifold. The Hadamard manifold is a particular type of Riemannian manifold with non-positive sectional curvature. Using bifunction, we introduce a definition of generalized geodesic convexity in the context of the Hadamard manifold. To support the definition, we construct a non-trivial example that demonstrates the property of geodesic convexity on Hadamard manifold. Additionally, we define the geodesic $h$-convexity, geodesic $h$-pseudoconvexity and geodesic $h$-quasiconvexity for vector valued function using bifunction and study their several properties. Furthermore, we demonstrate the uniqueness of the solution for nonsmooth vector variational inequality problem (NVVIP) and prove the characterization property for the solution of NVVIP and the Minty type NVVIP (MNVVIP) on Hadamard manifold in terms of bifunction. Afterward, we consider a nonsmooth vector optimization problem (NVOP) and investigate the relationships among the solutions of NVOP, NVVIP, and MNVVIP.
