Abstract:In this paper we construct non-negative gradings on a basic Brauer tree algebra $A_{\Gamma}$ corresponding to an arbitrary Brauer tree $\Gamma$ of type $(m,e)$. We do this by transferring gradings via derived equivalence from a basic Brauer tree algebra $A_S$, whose tree is a star with the exceptional vertex in the middle, to $A_{\Gamma}$. The grading on $A_S$ comes from the tight grading given by the radical filtration. To transfer gradings via derived equivalence we use tilting complexes constructed by taking Green's walk around $\Gamma$ (cf. [\ref{Zak}]). By computing endomorphism rings of these tilting complexes we get graded algebras. We also compute ${\rm Out}^K(A_{\Gamma})$, the group of outer automorphisms that fix isomorphism classes of simple $A_{\Gamma}$-modules, where $\Gamma$ is an arbitrary Brauer tree, and we prove that there is unique grading on $A_{\Gamma}$ up to graded Morita equivalence and rescaling.

On p-torsions of geometric Brauer groups

Abstract:Let $X$ be a smooth projective integral variety over a finitely generated field $k$ of characteristic $p>0$. We show that the finiteness of the exponent of the $p$-primary part of $\mathrm{Br}(X_{k^s})^{G_k}$ is equivalent to the Tate conjecture for divisors, generalizing D'Addezio's theorem for abelian varieties to arbitrary smooth projective varieties. In combination with the Leray spectral sequence for rigid cohomology derived from the Berthelot conjecture recently proved by Ertl-Vezzani, we show that the cokernel of $\mathrm{Br}_{\mathrm{nr}}(K(X)) \rightarrow \mathrm{Br}(X_{k^s})^{G_k}$ is of finite exponent. This completes the $p$-primary part of the generalization of Artin-Grothendieck's theorem on relations between Brauer groups and Tate-Shafarevich groups to higher relative dimensions.

Abstract:Building on Retakh's approach to Ext groups through categories of extensions, Schwede reobtained the well-known Gerstenhaber algebra structure on Ext groups over bimodules of associative algebras both from splicing extensions (leading to the cup product) and from a suitable loop in the categories of extensions (leading to the Lie bracket). We show how Schwede's construction admits a vast generalisation to general monoidal categories with coefficients of the Ext groups taken in (weak) left and right monoidal (or Drinfel'd) centres. In case of the category of left modules over bialgebroids and coefficients given by commuting pairs of braided (co)commutative (co)monoids in these categorical centres, we provide an explicit description of the algebraic structure obtained this way, and a complete proof that this leads to a Gerstenhaber algebra is then obtained from an operadic approach. This, in particular, considerably generalises the classical construction given by Gerstenhaber himself. Conjecturally, the algebraic structure we describe should produce a Gerstenhaber algebra for an arbitrary monoidal category enriched over abelian groups, but even the bilinearity of the cup product and of the Lie-type bracket defined by the abstract construction in terms of extension categories remain elusive in this general setting.

Abstract:Let $F$ be a non-archimedean local field. Let $\pi_1$ and $\pi_2$ be irreducible Arthur type representations of $\mathrm{GL}_n(F)$ and $\mathrm{GL}_{n-1}(F)$ respectively. We study Ext branching laws when $\pi_1$ and $\pi_2$ are products of discrete series representations and their Aubert-Zelevinsky duals. We obtain an Ext analogue of the local non-tempered Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture in this case.

Abstract:We prove a local-to-global principle for Brauer classes: for any finite collection of non-trivial Brauer classes on a variety over a field of transcendence degree at least 3, there are infinitely many specializations where each class stays non-trivial. This is deduced from a Grothendieck--Lefschetz-type theorem for Brauer groups of certain smooth stacks. This also leads to the notion of a Brauertsch field.

Abstract:We construct a bijection between certain Deodhar components of a braid variety constructed from an affine Kac-Moody group of type $A_{n-1}$ and vertex-labeled trees on $n$ vertices. By an argument of Galashin, Lam, and Williams using Opdam's trace formula in the affine Hecke algebra and an identity due to Haglund, we obtain an elaborate new proof for the enumeration of the number of vertex-labeled trees on $n$ vertices.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a smooth projective variety over a finitely generated field $K$ of characteristic $p>0$. We proved that the finiteness of the $\ell$-primary part of $\mathrm{Br}(X_{K^s})^{G_K}$ for a single prime $\ell\neq p$ will imply the finiteness of the prime-to-$p$ part of $\mathrm{Br}(X_{K^s})^{G_K}$, generalizing a theorem of Tate and Lichtenbaum for varieties over finite fields. For an abelian variety $A$ over $K$, we proved a similar result for the Tate-Shafarevich group of $A$, generalizing a theorem of Schneider for abelian varieties over global function fields.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. Let [math] be a field of characteristic different from [math], and let [math] be a tower of two quadratic field extensions. We construct a filtration on the relative Brauer group [math] and compute its factors in terms of certain norm groups. The answer depends on whether the extension [math] is biquadratic or not. As a consequence we obtain a description of the group [math] for a Galois field extension [math] with dihedral Galois group. Also, we prove that for any [math]-torsion abelian group [math] and any biquadratic extension [math] there exists a field extension [math] linearly disjoint with [math] such that [math].

Abstract:We consider a theory of noncommutative Gröbner bases on decreasingly filtered algebras whose associated graded algebras are commutative. We transfer many algorithms that use commutative Gröbner bases to this context. As an important application, we implement very efficient algorithms to compute the Ext groups over the Steenrod algebra $\mathscr{A}$ at the prime $2$. Especially, the cohomology of the Steenrod algebra $Ext_{\mathscr{A}}^{*, *}(\mathbb{F}_2, \mathbb{F}_2)$, which plays an important role in algebraic topology, is calculated up to total degree of 261, including the ring structure in this range.

Abstract:The affine line and the punctured affine line over a finite field F are taken as benchmarks for the problem of describing geometric étale fundamental groups. To this end, using a reformulation of Tannaka duality we construct for a projective variety X a (non-commutative) universal affine pro-algebraic group Lu(X), such that for any given affine subvariety U of X any finite and étale Galois covering of U over F is a pull-back of a Galois covering of a quotient Lu(X,U) of Lu(X). Then the geometric fundamental group of U is a completion of the k-points of Lu(X,U), where k is an algebraic closure of F. We obtain explicit descriptions of the universal affine groups Lu(X,U) for U the affine line and the punctured affine line over F.

Abstract:We prove that the -torsion of the transcendental Brauer group of an abelian variety over a finitely generated field of characteristic is bounded. This answers a (variant of a) question asked by Skorobogatov and Zarhin for abelian varieties. To do this, we prove a 'flat Tate conjecture' for divisors. We also study other geometric Galois-invariant -torsion classes of the Brauer group which are not in the transcendental Brauer group. These classes, in contrast with our main theorem, can be infinitely -divisible. We explain how the existence of these -divisible towers is naturally related to the failure of surjectivity of specialisation morphisms of Néron–Severi groups in characteristic .

Abstract:We introduce two classes of algebras coming from partial triangulations of marked surfaces. The first one, called frozen algebra of a partial triangulation, is generally of infinite rank and contains frozen Jacobian algebras of triangulations of marked surfaces. The second one, called algebra of a partial triangulation, is always of (explicit) finite rank and contains classical Jacobian algebras of triangulations of marked surfaces and Brauer graph algebras. We classify the partial triangulations, depending on the complexity of their frozen algebras (some are free of finite rank, some are lattices over a formal power series ring and most of them are not finitely generated over their centre). For algebras of partial triangulations, we prove that they are symmetric when the surface has no boundary. From a more representation theoretical point of view, we prove that these algebras of partial triangulations are of tame representation type and we define a combinatorial operation on partial triangulation, generalizing Kauer moves of Brauer graphs and flips of triangulations, which give derived equivalences of the corresponding algebras.

Abstract:Typed decorated trees are used by Bruned, Hairer and Zambotti to give a description of a renormalisation processon stochastic PDEs. We here study the algebraic structures on these objects: multiple prelie algebrasand related operads (generalizing a result by Chapoton and Livernet), noncommutative and cocommutative Hopf algebras (generalizing Grossman and Larson's construction),commutative and noncocommutative Hopf algebras (generalizing Connes and Kreimer's construction),bialgebras in cointeraction (generalizing Calaque, Ebrahimi-Fard and Manchon's result). We also define families of morphisms and in particular we prove that any Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebraof typed and decorated trees is isomorphic to a Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra of non--typed and decoratedtrees (the set of decorations of vertices being bigger), through a contraction process,and finally obtain the Bruned-Hairer-Zambotti construction as a subquotient.

Abstract:Let X be a smooth projective rational variety carrying a regular action of a finite abelian group G. We give examples of effective computation of the Brauer group of the quotient stack [X/G] in dimensions 2 and 3 using residues in Galois cohomology and the geometry of fixed loci. In particular, we compute Br([X/G]) for all G-minimal del Pezzo surfaces.

Abstract:We combine classical Vinberg's algorithms with the lattice-theoretic/arithmetic approach from <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1706.05734" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1706.05734">arXiv:1706.05734</a> [math.AG] to give a method of classifying large line configurations on complex quasi-polarized K3-surfaces. We apply our method to classify all complex K3-octic surfaces with at worst Du Val singularities and at least 32 lines. The upper bound on the number of lines is 36, as in the smooth case, with at most 32 lines if the singular locus is non-empty.

Abstract:Abstract We explicitly identify the algebra generated by symplectic Fourier–Deligne transforms (i.e., convolution with Kazhdan–Laumon sheaves) acting on the Grothendieck group of perverse sheaves on the basic affine space $G/U$, answering a question originally raised by A. Polishchuk. We show it is isomorphic to a distinguished subalgebra, studied by I. Marin, of the generalized algebra of braids and ties (defined in Type $A$ by F. Aicardi and J. Juyumaya and generalized to all types by Marin), providing a connection between geometric representation theory and an algebra defined in the context of knot theory. Our geometric interpretation of this algebra entails some algebraic consequences: we obtain a short and type-independent geometric proof of the braid relations for Juyumaya’s generators of the Yokonuma–Hecke algebra (previously proved case-by-case in types $A, D, E$ by Juyumaya and separately for types $B, C, F_{4}, G_{2}$ by Juyumaya and S. S. Kannan), a natural candidate for an analogue of a Kazhdan–Lusztig basis, and finally an explicit formula for the dimension of Marin’s algebra in Type $A_{n}$ (previously only known for $n \leq 4$).
