Abstract:We prove that, for any $c_1,c_2,c_3\in(1,41/35)$, every sufficiently large odd number $N$ can be represented as the sum of three primes $N = p_1 + p_2 +p_3$ such that $p_i = \lfloor n_{i}^{c_i}\rfloor$ for some $n_i \in{\mathbb N}$ for each $1 \leq i \leq 3$. Our arguments are based on a variant of Green's transference principle due to Matomäki, Maynard and Shao. We prove a necessary restriction estimate using Bourgain's strategy and employ Harman's sieve method to optimize our upper bound for $c_i$.

Abstract:The ternary Goldbach conjecture states that every odd number $m \geqslant 7$ can be written as the sum of three primes. We construct a set of primes $\mathbb{P}$ defined by an expanding system of admissible congruences such that almost all primes are not in $\mathbb{P}$ and still, the ternary Goldbach conjecture holds true with primes restricted to $\mathbb{P}$.

Abstract:The ternary Goldbach conjecture, or three-primes problem, states that every odd number $n$ greater than $5$ can be written as the sum of three primes. The conjecture, posed in 1742, remained unsolved until now, in spite of great progress in the twentieth century. In 2013 -- following a line of research pioneered and developed by Hardy, Littlewood and Vinogradov, among others -- the author proved the conjecture. In this, as in many other additive problems, what is at issue is really the proper usage of the limited information we possess on the distribution of prime numbers. The problem serves as a test and whetting-stone for techniques in analysis and number theory -- and also as an incentive to think about the relations between existing techniques with greater clarity. We will go over the main ideas of the proof. The basic approach is based on the circle method, the large sieve and exponential sums. For the purposes of this overview, we will not need to work with explicit constants; however, we will discuss what makes certain strategies and procedures not just effective, but efficient, in the sense of leading to good constants. Still, our focus will be on qualitative improvements.

Abstract:In this paper we prove two results concerning Vinogradov's three primes theorem with primes that can be called almost twin primes. First, for any $m$, every sufficiently large odd integer $N$ can be written as a sum of three primes $p_1, p_2$ and $p_3$ such that, for each $i \in \{1,2,3\}$, the interval $[p_i, p_i + H]$ contains at least $m$ primes, for some $H = H(m)$. Second, every sufficiently large integer $N \equiv 3 \pmod{6}$ can be written as a sum of three primes $p_1, p_2$ and $p_3$ such that, for each $i \in \{1,2,3\}$, $p_i + 2$ has at most two prime factors.

Abstract:In this paper we solve the ternary Piatetski-Shapiro inequality with prime numbers of a special form. More precisely we show that, for any fixed $1<c<\frac{427}{400}$, every sufficiently large positive number $N$ and a small constant $\varepsilon>0$, the diophantine inequality \begin{equation*} |p_1^c+p_2^c+p_3^c-N|<\varepsilon \end{equation*} has a solution in prime numbers $p_1,\,p_2,\,p_3$, such that $p_1=x^2 + y^2 +1$. For this purpose we establish a new Bombieri -- Vinogradov type result for exponential sums over primes.

Abstract:Some mean value theorems in the style of Bombieri-Vinogradov's theorem are discussed. They concern binary and ternary additive problems with primes in arithmetic progressions and short intervals. Nontrivial estimates for some of these mean values are given. As application inter alia, we show that for large odd n\not\equiv 1 (6), Goldbach's ternary problem n=p_1+p_2+p_3 is solvable with primes p_1,p_2 in short intervals p_i \in [X_i,X_i+Y] with X_{i}^{\theta_i}=Y, i=1,2, and \theta_1,\theta_2\geq 0.933 such that (p_1+2)(p_2+2) has at most 9 prime factors.

Abstract:Let $N$ denote a sufficiently large even integer, we define $D_{1,2}(N)$ as the same as those in previous articles about Chen's theorem. In this paper, we show that $D_{1,2}(N) \geqslant 1.733 \frac{C(N) N}{(\log N)^2}$, improving previous record of Wu about $93\%$. We also get similar results on twin prime problem and additive representations of integers. An important step in the proof is the application of the theorems of Lichtman.
