Abstract:In this paper, we study effective recursion formulae for computing intersection numbers of mixed psi and kappa classes on moduli spaces of curves. By using the celebrated Witten-Kontsevich theorem, we generalize Mulase-Safnuk form of Mirzakhani's recursion and prove a recursion formula of higher Weil-Petersson volumes. We also present recursion formulae to compute intersection pairings in the tautological rings of moduli spaces of curves.
General form of second main theorem on generalized $p$-Parabolic manifolds for arbitrary closed subschemes

Abstract:By introducing the notion of distributive constant for a family of closed subschemes, we establish a general form of the second main theorem for algebraic nondegenerate meromorphic mappings from a generalized $p$-Parabolic manifold into a projective variety with arbitrary families of closed subschemes. As its consequence, we give a second main theorem for such meromorphic mappings intersecting arbitrary hypersurfaces with an explicitly truncation level for the counting functions.

Abstract:The main purpose of this article is to study conditions for a curve on a submanifold $M\subset\mathbb{R}^n$, constructed in a particular way involving the Euclidean distance to $M$, to be a geodesic. We also present the naturally arising generalization of Clairaut's formula needed for the generalization of the main result to higher dimensions.

Abstract:In 1963, K.P.~Grotemeyer proved an interesting variant of the Gauss-Bonnet Theorem. Let $M$ be an oriented closed surface in theEuclidean space $\mathbb R^3$ with Euler characteristic $\chi(M)$, Gauss curvature $G$ and unit normal vector field $\vec n$. Grotemeyer'sidentity replaces the Gauss-Bonnet integrand $G$ by the normal moment $ ( \vec a \cdot \vec n )^2G$, where $a$ is a fixed unit vector: $\int_M(\vec a\cdot \vec n)^2 Gdv=\frac{2 \pi}{3}\chi(M) $. We generalize Grotemeyer's result to oriented closed even-dimensionalhypersurfaces of dimension $n$ in an $(n+1)$-dimensional space form $N^{n+1}(k)$.

Abstract:We develop generalized Petersson/Bruggeman/Kuznetsov (PBK) formulas for specified local components at non-archimedean places. In fact, we introduce two hypotheses on non-archimedean test function pairs $f \leftrightarrow \pi(f)$, called geometric and spectral hypotheses, under which one obtains `nice' PBK formulas by the adelic relative trace function approach. Then, given a supercuspidal representation $\sigma$ of ${\rm PGL}_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)$, we study extensively the case that $\pi(f)$ is a projection onto the line of the newform if $\pi$ is isomorphc to $\sigma$ or its unramified quadratic twist, and $\pi(f) = 0$ otherwise. As a first application, we prove an optimal large sieve inequality for families of automorphic representations that arise in our framework.

Abstract:The generalized vector is defined on an $n$ dimensional manifold. Interior product, Lie derivative acting on generalized $p$-forms, $-1\le p\le n$ are introduced. Generalized commutator of two generalized vectors are defined. Adding a correction term to Cartan's formula the generalized Lie derivative's action on a generalized vector field is defined. We explore various identities of the generalized Lie derivative with respect to generalized vector fields, and discuss an application.

Abstract:The Gauss-Bonnet Formula is a significant achievement in 19th century differential geometry for the case of surfaces and the 20th century cumulative work of H. Hopf, W. Fenchel, C. B. Allendoerfer, A. Weil and S.S. Chern for higher-dimensional Riemannian manifolds. It relates the Euler characteristic of a Riemannian manifold to a curvature integral over the manifold plus a somewhat enigmatic boundary term. In this paper, we revisit the formula using the formalism of double forms, a tool introduced by de Rham, and further developed by Kulkarni, Thorpe, and Gray. We explore the geometric nature of the boundary term and provide some examples and applications.

We provide a bridge between the two configurations with a third one that can be considered a specification for both. We do not use the theory of collineations or the analytic description of the plane over a ternary ring.

Abstract:This paper provides formulas for calculating Fréchet and limiting normal cones with respect to a set of sets and the limiting coderivative with respect to a set of set-valued mappings. These calculations are obtained under some qualification constraints and are expressed in the similar forms of the ones of Fréchet and limiting normal cones and the limiting coderivative. By using these new formulas, we state explicit necessary optimality conditions with respect to a set for optimization problems with equilibrium constraints under certain qualification conditions. Some examples are also presented.

Abstract:We prove a new general Poincaré-type inequality for differential forms on compact Riemannian manifolds with nonempty boundary. When the boundary is isometrically immersed in Euclidean space, we derive a new inequality involving mean and scalar curvatures of the boundary only and characterize its limiting case in codimension one. A new Ros-type inequality for differential forms is also derived assuming the existence of a nonzero parallel form on the manifold.

A generalization of the second Pappus-Guldin theorem

Abstract:This paper deals with the question of how to calculate the volume of a body in the three-dimensional Euclidean space when it is cut into slices perpendicular to a given curve. The answer is provided by a formula that can be considered as a generalized version of the second Pappus-Guldin theorem. It turns out that the computation becomes very simple if the curve passes directly through the centroids of the perpendicular cross-sections. In this context, the question arises whether a curve with this centroid property exists. We investigate this problem for a convex body $K$ by using the volume distance and certain features of the so-called floating bodies of $K$. As an example, we further determine the non-trivial centroid curves of a triaxial ellipsoid, and finally we apply our results to derive a rather simple formula for determining the centroid of a bent rod.

Abstract:In his lost notebook, Ramanujan recorded beautiful identities. These include earlier versions of Koshliakov's formula for the divisor function and the transformation formula for the logarithm of Dedekind's $\eta-$function. In this paper we establish some generalizations of these formulas of Ramanujan in a setting that only recently reemerged in the literature and which concerns a beautiful theory due to Koshliakov.

Abstract:In my 1993 paper, "Pappus's Theorem and the Modular Group", I explained how the iteration of Pappus's Theorem gives rise to a $2$-parameter family of representations of the modular group into the group of projective automorphisms. In this paper we realize these representations as isometry groups of patterns of geodesics in the symmetric space $X=SL_3(\R)/SO(3)$. The patterns have the same asymptotic structure as the geodesics in the Farey triangulation, so our construction gives a $2$ parameter family of deformations of the Farey triangulation inside $X$. We also describe a bending phenomenon associated to these patterns.

This is inspired by the existence of global hypersurfaces of section for the spatial case of the restricted three-body problem (as proved by the authors in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2011.10386" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2011.10386">arXiv:2011.10386</a>).

Abstract:Genus Theory is a classical feature of integral binary quadratic forms. Using the author's generalization of the well-known correspondence between quadratic form classes and ideal classes of quadratic algebras, we extend it to the case when quadratic forms are twisted and have coefficients in any PID $R$. When ${R = \mathbb{K}[X]}$, we show that the Genus Theory map is the quadratic form version of the $2$-descent map on a certain hyperelliptic curve. As an application, we make a contribution to a question of Agboola and Pappas regarding a specialization problem of divisor classes on hyperelliptic curves. Under suitable assumptions, we prove that the set of non-trivial specializations has density $1$.

Abstract:The main objective of this investigation is to derive a generalization of Kummer's formula:F-2(1)[(1/2(a+b+1);) (a,b;) 1/2(1+z)]= Gamma(1/2)Gamma (1/2a + 1/2b + 1/2)/Gamma(1/2a + 1/2) Gamma (1/2b +1/2) F-2(1) [1/2a, 1/2b; 1/2; z(2)]+ 2 Gamma (1/2)Gamma (1/2a + 1/2b + 1/2)/Gamma(1/2a) Gamma (1/2b) F-2(1) [1/2a + 1/2, 1/2b +1/2; 3/2; z(2)] (vertical bar z vertical bar < 1),which was proved independently by Ramanujan. The results presented here are obtained with the help of a known generalization of one of Kummer's summation theorems for F-2(1) (1/2), which was given recently by Lavoie et al. [14]. Several interesting identities closely related to Ramanujan's formula follow as special cases of our main results.

Abstract:Generalized trigonometric functions with two parameters were introduced by Drábek and Manásevich to study an inhomogeneous eigenvalue problem of the $p$-Laplacian. Concerning these functions, no multiple-angle formula has been known except for the classical cases and a special case discovered by Edmunds, Gurka and Lang, not to mention addition theorems. In this paper, we will present new multiple-angle formulas which are established between two kinds of the generalized trigonometric functions, and apply the formulas to generalize classical topics related to the trigonometric functions and the lemniscate function.
