Abstract:We prove the generic base change theorem for stacks, and give an exposition on the lisse-analytic topos of complex analytic stacks, proving some comparison theorems between various derived categories of complex analytic stacks. This enables us to deduce the decomposition theorem for perverse sheaves on complex Artin stacks with affine stabilizers from the case over finite fields.

Abstract:We reprove the Lefschetz trace formula for stacks (in the context of derivedcategories and the six operations for stacks developed by Laszlo and Olsson),and give the meromorphic continuation of L-series (in particular, zetafunctions) of Artin stacks over a finite field. We also give an upper bound forthe weights of the cohomology groups of stacks, and an "independence of l"result for a certain class of quotient stacks.
A decomposition theorem for the affine Springer fibers

Abstract:According to Laumon, an affine Springer fiber is homeomorphic to the universal abelian covering of the compactified Jacobian of a spectral curve. We construct equivariant deformations $f_{n}:\overline{\mathcal{P}}_{n}\to \mathcal{B}_{n}$ of the finite abelian coverings of this compactified Jacobian, and decompose the complex $Rf_{n,*}\mathbf{Q}_{\ell}$ as direct sum of intersection complexes. Pass to the limit, we obtain a similar expression for the homology of the affine Springer fibers. A quite surprising consequence is that we can reduce the homology to its $\Lambda^{0}$-invariant subspace. As an application, we get a sheaf-theoretic reformulation of the purity hypothesis of Goresky, Kottwitz and MacPherson. In an attempt to solve it, we propose a conjecture about the punctural weight of the intermediate extension of a smooth $\ell$-adic sheaf of pure weight.

Abstract:We show that the perverse t-structure induces a t-structure on the category $\mathcal{D}^A(S,\mathbb{Z}_\ell)$ of Artin $\ell$-adic complexes when $S$ is an excellent scheme of dimension less than $2$ and provide a counter-example in dimension $3$. The heart $\mathrm{Perv}^A(S,\mathbb{Z}_\ell)$ of this t-structure can be described explicitly in terms of representations in the case of $1$-dimensional schemes. When $S$ is of finite type over a finite field, we also construct a perverse homotopy t-structure over $\mathcal{D}^A(S,\mathbb{Q}_\ell)$ and show that it is the best possible approximation of the perverse t-structure. We describe the simple objects of its heart $\mathrm{Perv}^A(S,\mathbb{Q}_\ell)^\#$ and show that the weightless truncation functor $\omega^0$ is t-exact. We also show that the weightless intersection complex $EC_S=\omega^0 IC_S$ is a simple Artin homotopy perverse sheaf. If $S$ is a surface, it is also a perverse sheaf but it need not be simple in the category of perverse sheaves.

Abstract:We give a variant of Artin algebraization along closed subschemes and closed substacks. Our main application is the existence of étale, smooth or syntomic neighborhoods of closed subschemes and closed substacks. In particular, we prove local structure theorems for stacks and their derived counterparts and the existence of henselizations along linearly fundamental closed substacks. These results establish the existence of Ferrand pushouts, which answers positively a question of Temkin–Tyomkin.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to explain how basic properties of perverse sheaves sometimes translate via Riemann-Hilbert correspondences (in both characteristic $0$ and characteristic $p$) to highly non-trivial properties of singularities, especially their local cohomology. Along the way, we develop a theory of perverse $\mathbf{F}_p$-sheaves on varieties in characteristic $p$, expanding on previous work by various authors, and including a strong version of the Artin vanishing theorem.

Abstract:We introduce a notion of a Hodge-proper stack and extend the method of Deligne-Illusie to prove the Hodge-to-de Rham degeneration in this setting. In order to reduce the statement in characteristic $0$ to characteristic $p$, we need to find a good integral model of a stack (a so-called spreading), which, unlike in the case of schemes, need not to exist in general. To address this problem we investigate the property of spreadability in more detail by generalizing standard spreading out results for schemes to higher Artin stacks and showing that all proper and some global quotient stacks are Hodge-properly spreadable. As a corollary we deduce a (non-canonical) Hodge decomposition of the equivariant cohomology for certain classes of varieties with an algebraic group action.

Abstract:We show that on any Noetherian $F$-finite $\mathbb{F}_p$-scheme, there is an anti-equivalence of categories between Cartier crystals and étale perverse $\mathbb{F}_p$-sheaves, commuting with derived proper pushforwards. We use this duality to construct an upper shriek functor for Cartier crystals, and give new proofs of Kashiwara's equivalence and the finite length of Cartier crystals. Finally, we deduce a generic vanishing statement for perverse $\overline{\mathbb{F}}_p$-sheaves on abelian varieties of characteristic $p > 0$, reminiscent of the characteristic zero and $l$-adic statements.

Abstract:Building on Olander's work on algebraic spaces, we prove Orlov's representability theorem relating fully faithful functors and Fourier--Mukai transforms between the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves to the case of smooth, proper, and tame algebraic stacks. This extends previous results of Kawamata for Deligne--Mumford stacks with generically trivial stabilizers and projective coarse moduli spaces.

Abstract:We explain how any Artin stack $\mathfrak{X}$ over $\mathbb{Q}$ extends to a functor on non-negatively graded commutative cochain algebras, which we think of as functions on Lie algebroids or stacky affine schemes. There is a notion of étale morphisms for these CDGAs, and Artin stacks admit étale atlases by stacky affines, giving rise to a small étale site of stacky affines over $\mathfrak{X}$. This site has the same quasi-coherent sheaves as $\mathfrak{X}$ and leads to efficient formulations of shifted Poisson structures, differential operators and quantisations for Artin stacks. There are generalisations to higher and derived stacks. We also describe analogues for differentiable and analytic stacks; in particular, a Lie groupoid naturally gives a functor on NQ-manifolds which we can use to transfer structures. In those settings, local diffeomorphisms and biholomorphisms are the analogues of étale morphisms. This note mostly elaborates constructions scattered across several of the author's papers, but with an emphasis on the functor of points perspective. New results include consistency checks showing that the induced notions of structures such as vector bundles or torsors on a stacky affine scheme coincide with familiar definitions in terms of flat connections.

Abstract:We construct the étale motivic Borel-Moore homology of derived Artin stacks. Using a derived version of the intrinsic normal cone, we construct fundamental classes of quasi-smooth derived Artin stacks and demonstrate functoriality, base change, excess intersection, and Grothendieck-Riemann-Roch formulas. These classes also satisfy a general cohomological Bézout theorem which holds without any transversity hypotheses. The construction is new even for classical stacks and as one application we extend Gabber's proof of the absolute purity conjecture to Artin stacks.

A Representability Theorem for Stacks in Derived Geometry Contexts

Abstract:The representability theorem for stacks, due to Artin in the underived setting and Lurie in the derived setting, gives conditions under which a stack is representable by an $n$-geometric stack. In recent work of Ben-Bassat, Kelly, and Kremnizer, a new theory of derived analytic geometry has been proposed as geometry relative to the $(\infty,1)$-category of simplicial commutative Ind-Banach $R$-modules, for $R$ a Banach ring. In this paper, we prove a representability theorem which holds in a very general context, which we call a representability context, encompassing both the derived algebraic geometry context of Toën and Vezzosi and these new derived analytic geometry contexts. The representability theorem gives natural and easily verifiable conditions for checking that derived stacks in these contexts are $n$-geometric, such as having an $n$-geometric truncation, being nilcomplete, and having an obstruction theory. Future work will explore representability of certain moduli stacks arising in derived analytic geometry, for example moduli stacks of Galois representations.

Abstract:Let $Q$ be a finite quiver without loops and $\mathcal{Q}_{\alpha}$ be the Lusztig category for any dimension vector $\alpha$. The purpose of this paper is to prove that all Frobenius eigenvalues of the $i$-th cohomology $\mathcal{H}^i(\mathcal{L})|_x$ for a simple perverse sheaf $\mathcal{L}\in \mathcal{Q}_{\alpha}$ and $x\in \mathbb{E}_{\alpha}^{F^n}=\mathbb{E}_{\alpha}(\mathbb{F}_{q^n})$ are equal to $(\sqrt{q^n})^{i}$ as a conjecture given by Schiffmann (\cite{Schiffmann2}). As an application, we prove the existence of a class of Hall polynomials.
Coherently complete algebraic stacks in positive characteristic

Abstract:With the long-term goal of proving local structure theorems of algebraic stacks in positive characteristic near points with reductive (but possibly non-linearly reductive) stabilizer, we conjecture that quotient stacks of the form $[\mathrm{Spec}\, A/G]$, with $G$ reductive and $A^G$ complete local, are coherently complete along the unique closed point. We establish this conjecture in two interesting cases: (1) $A^G$ is artinian and (2) $G$ acts trivially on $\mathrm{Spec}\, A$. We also establish coherent completeness results for graded unipotent group actions. In order to establish these results, we prove a number of foundational statements concerning cohomological and completeness properties of algebraic stacks -- including on how these properties ascend and descend along morphisms.
