Abstract:We look for solutions to the Schrödinger equation \[ -\Delta u + \lambda u = g(u) \quad \text{in } \mathbb{R}^N \] coupled with the mass constraint $\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}|u|^2\,dx = \rho^2$, with $N\ge2$. The behaviour of $g$ at the origin is allowed to be strongly sublinear, i.e., $\lim_{s\to0}g(s)/s = -\infty$, which includes the case \[ g(s) = \alpha s \ln s^2 + \mu |s|^{p-2} s \] with $\alpha > 0$ and $\mu \in \mathbb{R}$, $2 < p \le 2^*$ properly chosen. We consider a family of approximating problems that can be set in $H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$ and the corresponding least-energy solutions, then we prove that such a family of solutions converges to a least-energy one to the original problem. Additionally, under certain assumptions about $g$ that allow us to work in a suitable subspace of $H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$, we prove the existence of infinitely many solutions.

Abstract:We are concerned with solutions of the following quasilinear Schrödinger equations \begin{eqnarray*} -{\mathrm{div}}\left(\varphi^{2}(u) \nabla u\right)+\varphi(u) \varphi^{\prime}(u)|\nabla u|^{2}+\lambda u=f(u), \quad x \in \mathbb{R}^{N} \end{eqnarray*} with prescribed mass $$ \int_{\mathbb{R}^{N}} u^{2} \mathrm{d}x=c, $$ where $N\ge 3, c>0$, $\lambda \in \mathbb{R}$ appears as the Lagrange multiplier and $\varphi\in C ^{1}(\mathbb{R} ,\mathbb{R}^{+})$. The nonlinearity $f \in C\left ( \mathbb{R}, \, \mathbb{R} \right )$ is allowed to be mass-subcritical, mass-critical and mass-supercritical at origin and infinity. Via a dual approach, the fixed point index and a global branch approach, we establish the existence of normalized solutions to the problem above. The results extend previous results by L. Jeanjean, J. J. Zhang and X.X. Zhong to the quasilinear case.

Under some mild assumptions, we establish the existence of ground state and infinitely many radial solutions by constructing a particular bounded Palais-Smale sequence when . Meanwhile, we obtain the non-existence result in the case and the existence result when via variational methods.

Abstract:We study the existence of solutions $(\underline u,\lambda_{\underline u})\in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N; \mathbb{R}) \times \mathbb{R}$ to \[ -\Delta u + \lambda u = f(u) \quad \text{in } \mathbb{R}^N \] with $N \ge 3$ and prescribed $L^2$ norm, and the dynamics of the solutions to \[ \begin{cases} \mathrm{i} \partial_t \Psi + \Delta \Psi = f(\Psi)\\ \Psi(\cdot,0) = \psi_0 \in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N; \mathbb{C}) \end{cases} \] with $\psi_0$ close to $\underline u$. Here, the nonlinear term $f$ has mass-subcritical growth at the origin, mass-supercritical growth at infinity, and is more general than the sum of two powers. Under different assumptions, we prove the existence of a locally least-energy solution, the orbital stability of all such solutions, the existence of a second solution with higher energy, and the strong instability of such a solution.

Abstract:In this paper, for dimension N >= 2 and prescribed mass m > 0, we consider the following nonlinear scalar field equation with L-2 constraint: {-Delta u + V (x)u + lambda u = g(u) in R-N, integral(RN) u2 = m, where lambda is an element of R is a Lagrange multiplier, V(x) is an element of C-1(R-N, R). In particular, g(x) is an element of C(R, R) satisfies mass supercritical and Sobolev subcritical growth. We prove the existence results of the normalized solution and infinitely many normalized solutions to the above system under some proper assumptions on the functions V(x), g(x) by the mountain pass argument.

Abstract:We study the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation and we look for normalized solutions $(u,\mu)\in H^1({\bf R}^N)\times{\bf R}$ for a given $m>0$ and $N\geq 2$ \[ -\Delta u + \mu u = g(u)\quad \text{in}\ {\bf R}^N, \qquad \frac{1}{2}\int_{{\bf R}^N} u^2 dx = m. \] We assume that $g$ has an $L^2$-critical growth, both at the origin and at infinity. That is, for $p=1+\frac{4}{N}$, $g(s)=|s|^{p-1}s +h(s)$, $h(s)=o(|s|^p)$ as $s\sim 0$ and $s\sim\infty$. The $L^2$-critical exponent $p$ is very special for this problem; in the power case $g(s) = |s|^{p-1}s$ a solution exists only for the specific mass $m=m_1$, where $m_1=\frac{1}{2}\int_{{\bf R}^N}\omega_1^2\, dx$ is the mass of a least energy solution $\omega_1$ of $-\Delta \omega+\omega=\omega^p$ in ${\bf R}^N$. We prove the existence of a positive solution for $m=m_1$ when $h$ has a sublinear growth at infinity, i.e., $h(s)=o(s)$ as $s\sim\infty$. In contrast, we show non-existence results for $h(s)\not=o(s)$ ($s\sim 0$) under a suitable monotonicity condition.

Abstract:We study the existence, non-existence and multiplicity of prescribed mass positive solutions to a Schrödinger equation of the form \begin{equation*} -\Delta u+\lambda u=g(u), \quad u \in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N), \, N \geq 1. \end{equation*} Our approach permits to handle in a unified way nonlinearities $g(s)$ which are either mass subcritical, mass critical or mass supercritical. Among its main ingredients is the study of the asymptotic behaviors of the positive solutions as $\lambda\rightarrow 0^+$ or $\lambda\rightarrow +\infty$ and the existence of an unbounded continuum of solutions in $(0, + \infty) \times H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following Schrödinger equation: where , , , and appears as a Lagrange multiplier. Assume that the nonlinear term f satisfies conditions only in a neighborhood of zero. For f has a subcritical growth, we prove the existence of the positive normalized solution for the equation with sufficiently small . For f has a supercritical growth, we derive the existence of the positive normalized solution for the equation with large enough. In addition, we also obtain infinitely many normalized solutions with sufficiently small for the subcritical case.

Abstract:The paper addresses an open problem raised in [Bartsch, Molle, Rizzi, Verzini: Normalized solutions of mass supercritical Schrödinger equations with potential, Comm. Part. Diff. Equ. 46 (2021), 1729-1756] on the existence of normalized solutions to Schrödinger equations with potentials and inhomogeneous nonlinearities. We consider the problem \[ -\Delta u+V(x)u+\lambda u = |u|^{q-2}u+\beta |u|^{p-2}u, \quad \|u\|^2_2=\int|u|^2dx = \alpha, \] both on $\mathbb{R}^N$ as well as on domains $r\Omega$ where $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^N$ is an open bounded convex domain and $r>0$ is large. The exponents satisfy $2<p<2+\frac4N<q<2^*=\frac{2N}{N-2}$, so that the nonlinearity is a combination of a mass subcritical and a mass supercritical term. Due to the presence of the potential a by now standard approach based on the Pohozaev identity cannot be used. We develop a robust method to study the existence of normalized solutions of nonlinear Schrödinger equations with potential and find conditions on $V$ so that normalized solutions exist. Our results are new even in the case $\beta=0$.

Abstract:Due to its very important applications in many physical problems, the normalized solution of nonlinear Schrodinger equations has gradually attracted the attention of a large number of researchers in recent years:beginalign*begincases-Δ u+λ u=g(u), x∈ mathbbR^N, u∈ H¹(mathbbR^N), displaystyle∫mathbbR^Nu²=c,endcasesendalign*where the normalization condition $c\\in~\\mathbb{R}^+$ is given, but the Lagrange multiplier $\\lambda$ is unknown. We first introduce the existence, multiplicity, and other properties of the normalized solution of a single Schrodinger equation under different conditions. Abstract:For any a > 0, we study the existence of normalized solutions and ground state solutions to the following Schrodinger equation with L-2-constraint: { -Delta u + lambda u = b(x)f(u) x is an element of R-2, integral(2)(R) u(2)dx = a, where lambda is an element of R is a Lagrange multiplier, the potential b is an element of C(R-2, (0, infinity)) satisfies 0 < lim(|y|->infinity) b(y) <= inf(x is an element of)R(2) b(x) and appears as a converse direction of the Rabinowitz-type trapping potential, and the reaction f is an element of C(R, R) enjoys critical exponential growth of Trudinger-Moser type. Under two different kinds of assumptions on f, we prove several new existence results, which, in the context of normalized solutions, can be considered as both counterparts of planar unconstrained critical problems and extensions of unconstrained Schrodinger problems with Rabinowitz-type trapping potential. Especially, in this scenario, we develop some sharp estimates of energy levels and ingenious analysis techniques to restore the compactness which are novel even for b(x) equivalent to constant. We believe that these techniques will allow not only treating other L-2-constrained problems in the Trudinger-Moser critical setting but also generalizing previous results to the case of variable potentials.

Abstract:We investigate normalized solutions to a class of Chern-Simons-Schrödinger systems with combined nonlinearities f ( u ) = ∣ u ∣ p −2 u + μ ∣ u ∣ q −2 u in ℝ 2 ,where μ ∈ ± 1 and 2 < p , q < ∞. The solutions correspond to critical points of the underlying energy functional subject to the L 2 -norm constraint, namely, ∫_^2| u |^2dx = c for c > 0 given. Of particular interest is the competing and double L 2 -supercritical case, i.e., μ = −1 and min p , q > 4. We prove several existence and multiplicity results depending on the size of the exponents p and q . It is worth emphasizing that some of them are also new even in the study of the Schrödinger equations. In addition, the asymptotic behaviors of the solutions and the associated Lagrange multipliers λ as c → 0 are described.

First we establish the existence of ground states in the mass subcritical, critical and supercritical cases. Then we consider the well-posedness and dynamical behaviors of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the associated time-dependent equations.
