Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following Schrödinger equation: where , , , and appears as a Lagrange multiplier. Assume that the nonlinear term f satisfies conditions only in a neighborhood of zero. For f has a subcritical growth, we prove the existence of the positive normalized solution for the equation with sufficiently small . For f has a supercritical growth, we derive the existence of the positive normalized solution for the equation with large enough. In addition, we also obtain infinitely many normalized solutions with sufficiently small for the subcritical case.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the following planar Schrödinger equation where is of critical exponential growth. We obtain the existence of ground state normalized solutions under general assumptions, and here stands for a Lagrange multiplier. Our theorems extend the results of Alves, Ji and Miyagaki (Calc Var 61:18, 2022) and Chang, Liu and Yan (J Geom Anal 33:83, 2023), where f satisfies a strong global assumption. In particular, some new estimates and approaches are introduced to overcome the lack of compactness resulting from the critical growth of f ( u ).

Abstract:We study the existence and multiplicity of normalized solutions to the following Schrödinger equations with potentials and non-autonomous nonlinearities: { -Δ u+V(x)u+λ u=f(x,u) in ℝ^N, ∫ _ℝ^N |u(x)|^2dx=a, u∈ H^1(ℝ^N) , . where V(x)≤lim _|x|→∞ V(x):=V_∞∈ (-∞ ,+∞ ] and f ( x , s ) satisfies Berestycki–Lions type conditions with mass sub-critical growth. In the case V_∞=+∞ , we prove that for all a>0 , the equation has a ground state solution, and if additionally f is odd, the equation has infinitely many normalized solutions with increasing energy. While in the case V_∞<+∞ , we prove that there exists a_0≥ 0 such that the ground state energy can be attained when a>a_0 , but not when 0<a<a_0 . To this end, We develop robust arguments to show the conditional strict subadditivity of the ground state energy with respect to a . We also investigate the multiplicity of normalized radial solutions by index theory in this case. These results can be extended to other types of Schrödinger equations.

Abstract:We obtain the existence, nonexistence and multiplicity of positive solutions with prescribed mass for nonlinear Schrödinger equations in bounded domains via a global bifurcation approach. The nonlinearities in this paper can be mass supercritical, critical, subcritical or some mixes of these cases, and the equation can be autonomous or non-autonomous. This generalizes a result in Noris, Tavares and Verzini [\emph{Anal. PDE}, 7 (8) (2014) 1807-1838], where the equation is autonomous with homogeneous nonlinearities. Besides, we have proven some orbital stability or instability results.

Under some mild assumptions, we establish the existence of ground state and infinitely many radial solutions by constructing a particular bounded Palais-Smale sequence when . Meanwhile, we obtain the non-existence result in the case and the existence result when via variational methods.

Abstract:The paper addresses an open problem raised in [Bartsch, Molle, Rizzi, Verzini: Normalized solutions of mass supercritical Schrödinger equations with potential, Comm. Part. Diff. Equ. 46 (2021), 1729-1756] on the existence of normalized solutions to Schrödinger equations with potentials and inhomogeneous nonlinearities. We consider the problem \[ -\Delta u+V(x)u+\lambda u = |u|^{q-2}u+\beta |u|^{p-2}u, \quad \|u\|^2_2=\int|u|^2dx = \alpha, \] both on $\mathbb{R}^N$ as well as on domains $r\Omega$ where $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^N$ is an open bounded convex domain and $r>0$ is large. The exponents satisfy $2<p<2+\frac4N<q<2^*=\frac{2N}{N-2}$, so that the nonlinearity is a combination of a mass subcritical and a mass supercritical term. Due to the presence of the potential a by now standard approach based on the Pohozaev identity cannot be used. We develop a robust method to study the existence of normalized solutions of nonlinear Schrödinger equations with potential and find conditions on $V$ so that normalized solutions exist. Our results are new even in the case $\beta=0$.

The exponent satisfies $2+\frac{4}{N}\leq q\leq2^*=\frac{2 N}{N-2}$ and $f:\mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ satisfies $L^2$-subcritical or $L^2$-critical growth. This paper generalizes the conclusion of Bartsch et al. in \cite{TBAQ2023}(2023, arXiv preprint). Moreover, we consider the Sobolev critical case and $L^2$-critical case of the above problem.

Abstract:We are concerned with solutions of the following quasilinear Schrödinger equations \begin{eqnarray*} -{\mathrm{div}}\left(\varphi^{2}(u) \nabla u\right)+\varphi(u) \varphi^{\prime}(u)|\nabla u|^{2}+\lambda u=f(u), \quad x \in \mathbb{R}^{N} \end{eqnarray*} with prescribed mass $$ \int_{\mathbb{R}^{N}} u^{2} \mathrm{d}x=c, $$ where $N\ge 3, c>0$, $\lambda \in \mathbb{R}$ appears as the Lagrange multiplier and $\varphi\in C ^{1}(\mathbb{R} ,\mathbb{R}^{+})$. The nonlinearity $f \in C\left ( \mathbb{R}, \, \mathbb{R} \right )$ is allowed to be mass-subcritical, mass-critical and mass-supercritical at origin and infinity. Via a dual approach, the fixed point index and a global branch approach, we establish the existence of normalized solutions to the problem above. The results extend previous results by L. Jeanjean, J. J. Zhang and X.X. Zhong to the quasilinear case.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider solutions to the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation with competing Hartree-type nonlinearities, $$ -\Delta u + \lambda u=\left(|x|^{-\gamma_1} \ast |u|^2\right) u - \left(|x|^{-\gamma_2} \ast |u|^2\right) u\quad \mbox{in} \,\, \R^N, $$ under the $L^2$-norm constraint $$ \int_{\R^N} |u|^2 \, dx=c>0, $$ where $N \geq 1$, $0<\gamma_2 < \gamma_1 <\min\{N, 4\}$ and $\lambda \in \R$ appearing as Lagrange multiplier is unknown. First we establish the existence of ground states in the mass subcritical, critical and supercritical cases. Then we consider the well-posedness and dynamical behaviors of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the associated time-dependent equations.

Abstract:We study the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation and we look for normalized solutions $(u,\mu)\in H^1({\bf R}^N)\times{\bf R}$ for a given $m>0$ and $N\geq 2$ \[ -\Delta u + \mu u = g(u)\quad \text{in}\ {\bf R}^N, \qquad \frac{1}{2}\int_{{\bf R}^N} u^2 dx = m. \] We assume that $g$ has an $L^2$-critical growth, both at the origin and at infinity. That is, for $p=1+\frac{4}{N}$, $g(s)=|s|^{p-1}s +h(s)$, $h(s)=o(|s|^p)$ as $s\sim 0$ and $s\sim\infty$. The $L^2$-critical exponent $p$ is very special for this problem; in the power case $g(s) = |s|^{p-1}s$ a solution exists only for the specific mass $m=m_1$, where $m_1=\frac{1}{2}\int_{{\bf R}^N}\omega_1^2\, dx$ is the mass of a least energy solution $\omega_1$ of $-\Delta \omega+\omega=\omega^p$ in ${\bf R}^N$. We prove the existence of a positive solution for $m=m_1$ when $h$ has a sublinear growth at infinity, i.e., $h(s)=o(s)$ as $s\sim\infty$. In contrast, we show non-existence results for $h(s)\not=o(s)$ ($s\sim 0$) under a suitable monotonicity condition.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to investigate the existence and multiplicity of the normalized solutions for the following fractional Schrodinger equation: {(-Delta)(s)u + lambda u = mu vertical bar u vertical bar(p-2)u + vertical bar u vertical bar(2s)*(-2)u, x is an element of R-N, (P) u > 0, integral(RN) vertical bar u vertical bar(2)dx = a(2), where 0 < s < 1, a, mu > 0, N >= 2, and 2 < p < 2(s)*. We consider the L-2 -subcritical and L-2-supercritical cases. More precisely, in L-2 -subcritical case, we obtain the multiplicity of the normalized solutions for problem (P) by using the truncation technique, concentration-compactness principle, and genus theory. In L-2 -supercritical case, we obtain a couple of normalized solution for (P) by using a fiber map and concentration-compactness principle. To some extent, these results can be viewed as an extension of the existing results from Sobolev subcritical growth to Sobolev critical growth.
Positive and multiple normalized solutions to Schrödinger equations with general nonlinearities in bounded domains

Abstract:This paper aims to the existence of positive and multiple normalized solutions to Schrödinger equations with general nonlinearities in star-shaped bounded domains. We obtain a normalized ground state by searching for a local minimizer. Furthermore, relying on a monotonicity trick, we get another positive normalized solution by Mountain Pass theorem, and multiple solutions by establishing some special links. Moreover, we obtain the existence of nonradial normalized solutions to Schrödinger equations in balls. The assumptions on the nonlinearities in this paper are (almost) optimal, and the results in this paper are latest for the normalized solutions of Schrödinger equations in bounded domains.
