Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics of primary brainstem hemorrhage and factors that affect clinical ending .Methods One hundred and fifty-three patients′clinical data of primary-brainstem-hemorrhage who were treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University and the People′s Liberation Army 210 Hospital during October 2011 to October 2014 were collected.The clinical characteristics of different age groups were compared by variance -analysis, the affecting factors of clinical ending were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression .Results (1)Female′s age[59(51,77) years old] was significantly higher than male′s[56(47,62)years old],there was statistical significance (Z=-2.404,P =0.016).(2)In each age group,incidence rates of male was higher than female ,incidence of female was increasing with age,there was statistical significance (χ2 =10.996,P=0.004 ).(3)There was statistically significant in bad habit of smoking ,drinking among the age groups (χ2 =11.008 ,P=0.004;χ2 =8.175,P=0.017).(4)There were statistically significant in fibrin(Fib) in each age group(F=5.282,P=0.006).(5)The difference of Glasgow coma scale (GCS)scores in age groups were statistically significant when first time in hospital (χ2 =8.276 , P =0.016 ) .( 6 ) The treatment effects in three age groups were statistically significant(χ2 =9.263,P =0.010).(7)Univariate analysis:age,the amount of bleeding, breaking into the ventricle or not,GCS score,neurological deficit scale (NDS) score,intervening time from onset to treatment , blood glucose , blood pressure and the first symptoms of primary brainstem hemorrhage associated the clinical ending .Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the bleeding ,GCS score, NDS score and the first symptom factors of primary brainstem hemorrhage clinical ending ,but not independent factors.Conclusion The occurrence of primary brainstem hemorrhage is more common in middle-aged,male patients are more than female patients ,the ages of female are larger than male′s.Bad habits such as drinking and smoking,Fib,GCS score are related with age .Bleeding,GCS score,NDS score and first symptoms are key indicators in evaluating the clinical ending of primary brainstem hemorrhage .
