Abstract:A model independent discussion of $\Delta-$production in $pp \to pp \pi^0$ is presented and the $\Delta-$contributions to the 16 $pp \to pp\pi^0$ partial wave amplitudes are identified taking the $Ds$ and $Sd$ channels also into consideration.

Abstract:Two-photon annihilate contributions in the process $e^+ + e^- \to p + \bar{p}$ including $N$ and $\Delta$ intermediate are discussed in a simple hadronic model. The corrections to the unpolarized cross section and polarized observables $P_x,P_z$ are presented. The results show the two-photon annihilate correction to unpolarized cross section is small and its angle dependence becomes weak at small $s$ after considering the $N$ and $\Delta(1232)$ contributions simultaneously, while the correction to $P_z$ is enhanced.

The Theoretical Study of $Σ^{+} p \toΛa_0^{+} p$ Reaction

Abstract:We conducted a theoretical study on the process $\Sigma^{+} p \to\Lambda a_0^{+} p$ based on an effective Lagrangian approach. This model encompasses the excitation of intermediate states leading to the production of $\Delta(1920)$ through $\pi^{+}$ and $K^{+}$ meson exchanges between the initial $\Sigma^{+}$ baryon and the initial proton $p$, as well as the generation of $\Delta(1940)$ via $\pi^{+}$ and $\rho^{+}$ meson exchanges. We provide predictions for the total and differential cross sections and discuss the potential impacts of cutoff parameters, off-shell effects, and branching ratios on the $\Delta^{\ast} \to a_0 p$ decay. Given the dominance of $\Delta(1940)$ in the region close to the reaction threshold, this reaction is considered an ideal platform for deeply exploring the unique properties of the $\Delta(1940)$ resonance. Through this approach, we can gain a more precise understanding of the intrinsic characteristics of this particle.

Abstract:Prompted by the recent discoveries of $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++}$ in the $D_s^+\pi^+$ invariant mass distribution of $B^+\to D^-D_s^+\pi^+$ process, we present a model that hopes to help us investigate the nature of $T_{c\bar{s}0}(2900)^{++}$ by reproducing the mass distribution of $D^-\pi^+, D_s^+\pi^+$ and $D^-D_s^+$ in $B^+ \to D^-D_s^+\pi^+$ decays. In addition, we employ a coupled-channel approach to describe the dominant contribution of the $D\pi$ $S\text{-wave}$ amplitude, and also consider other excitations. Our model provides a well fit to the invariant mass distributions of $D^-\pi^+, D_s^+\pi^+$ and $D^-D_s^+$ simultaneously.

Abstract:In this work, we investigate the production of the $\Delta (1232)$-resonance in the $K^{+}p\rightarrow K^{0}\pi^{+}p$ reaction within an effective Lagrangian approach. Especially, we explore the $\rho$ exchange considering two kinds of $\Delta N\rho$ couplings and the $\Sigma$ exchange contributions. It is found that the angular distribution of the final K0 and the spin state of the produced $\Delta (1232)$ are sensitive to the production mechanisms and the characters can be used to distinguish the mechanisms of this reaction.

Abstract:We present a study of the central exclusive $\pi^{+} \pi^{-}$ production via the photoproduction mechanism in nucleon-nucleon collisions. The photon-pomeron/reggeon and pomeron/reggeon-photon exchanges both for the $\rho^{0}$ resonance contribution and the Drell-Söding contribution are considered. The amplitudes for the processes are formulated in terms of vertices respecting the standard crossing and charge-conjugation relations of Quantum Field Theory. The coupling parameters of tensor pomeron and reggeon exchanges are fixed based on the H1 and ZEUS experimental data for the $\gamma p \to \rho^{0} p$ reaction. We present first predictions of this mechanism for the $pp \to pp \pi^{+} \pi^{-}$ reaction being studied at COMPASS, RHIC, Tevatron, and LHC. We show the influence of the experimental cuts on the integrated cross section and on various differential distributions for outgoing particles. Distributions in rapidities and transverse momenta of outgoing protons and pions as well as correlations in azimuthal angle between them are presented. We compare the photoproduction contribution to $\pi^{+} \pi^{-}$ distributions with double pomeron/reggeon two-pion continuum. We discuss whether the high-energy central production of $\rho^{0}$ mesons could be selected experimentally.

The Theoretical Study of $π^+p\to pa_0^+ϕ$ Reaction

Abstract:We study the production of hyperon resonances in the $\pi^+p\to pa_0^+\phi$ reaction within an effective Lagrangian approach. The model includes the production of $\Delta(1940)$ and $\Delta(1920)$ in the intermediate state excited by the $\rho$ and $p$ exchanges between the initial proton and $\pi$ meson. Due to the large contribution of $\rho$ exchange in $\Delta(1940)$ production, $\Delta(1940)$ is found a significant contribution near the threshold in this reaction. We provide total and differential cross section predictions for the reation and discuss the possible influence of model parameters, off-shell effects and branching ratios for $\Delta(1940)\to pa_0$ and $\Delta(1920)\to pa_0$ decays, which will be useful in future experimental studies. This reaction can provide a platform for studying the features of $\Delta(1940)$ resonance, especially the coupling to $pa_0$ channel.

Roles of $f_{0}(500)$ and $f_{0}(980)$ in the $D_{(s)}^{+}\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{+}π^{-}$ decays

Abstract:With the recent measurements of the $D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow \pi^{+}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ and $D^{+}\rightarrow \pi^{+}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ decays by the LHCb Collaboration, we study these two decay processes by considering the final state interaction formalism. Taking into account the external and internal $W$-emission dominant mechanisms at the quark level, our model can naturally explain why the $D_{s}^{+}$ decay only has a contribution from the $f_{0}(980)$ resonance, while the $D^{+}$ decay has contributions from both the $f_{0}(500)$ and $f_{0}(980)$ states. The magnitudes and phases of $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ for $S$-wave amplitudes in our model are in agreement with the experimental measurements. These results support the interpretations of $f_{0}(500)$ and $f_{0}(980)$ as the $\pi\pi$ and $K\bar{K}$ resonances, respectively, where they are dynamically generated from the $S$-wave pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar meson interactions within the chiral unitary approach.

Non-diagonal DVCS and transition GPDs: A unified framework for spinless hadron case $γ^* π\to γππ$

Abstract:Hadron-to-two-hadron transition generalized parton distributions (GPDs) extend the concept of hadron-to-resonance transition GPDs and provide a unified description of non-diagonal hard exclusive reactions in the generalized Bjorken limit. We present the formalism for the case of spinless hadrons addressing the non-diagonal deeply virtual Compton scattering $\gamma^*\pi\to\gamma\pi\pi$ in terms of $\pi\to\pi\pi$ transition GPDs, which generalize GPDs for $\pi \to f_0, \, \rho, \, f_2, \, \cdots$ transitions. We work out the basic properties of $\pi\to\pi\pi$ transition GPDs and establish the soft pion theorems at the $2\pi$ production threshold. We construct the partial wave expansion of $\pi\to\pi\pi$ transition GPDs in the two-pion decay angles and employ the dispersive approach to constrain $\pi\to\pi\pi$ transition GPDs in terms of $\pi\pi$-scattering phases with help of the Omnès representation. We estimate the $e^-\pi^+ \to e^- \gamma \pi^+ \pi^0$ cross section in the kinematics of the JLab@12 GeV incorporating the isolated $\rho(770)$ resonance state and work out the angular distributions of the cross section, specifying the observables sensitive to the polarization states of the produced $\rho(770)$ resonance.

Abstract:We analyze the real-photon asymmetry A(gamma)(+/-) for the parity-violating (PV) pi(+/-) production on the Delta resonance via the reactions (-->)gamma + p --> Delta(+) --> pi(+) + n and (-->)gamma + d --> Delta(0) + p --> pi(-) + p + p. This asymmetry is nonvanishing due to a PV gamma N Delta coupling constant, d(Delta)(+/-). We argue that an experimental determination of this coupling would be of interest for hadron dynamics, possibly shedding light on the S-wave/ P-wave puzzle in the hyperon nonleptonic decays and the violation of Hara's theorem in weak radiative hyperon decays.

Abstract:We present a theoretical analysis of the $D^-\rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^- \ell \bar{\nu }$ and $\bar{D}^0\rightarrow \pi ^+\pi ^0 \ell \bar{\nu }$ decays. We construct a general angular distribution which can include arbitrary partial waves of $\pi \pi $. Retaining the S-wave and P-wave contributions we study the branching ratios, forward–backward asymmetries and a few other observables. The P-wave contribution is dominated by $\rho ^0$ resonance, and the S-wave contribution is analyzed using the unitarized chiral perturbation theory. The obtained branching fraction for $D\rightarrow \rho \ell \nu $, at the order $10^{-3}$, is consistent with the available experimental data. The S-wave contribution has a branching ratio at the order of $10^{-4}$, and this prediction can be tested by experiments like BESIII and LHCb. Future measurements can also be used to examine the $\pi $–$\pi $ scattering phase shift.
Investigating $D_s^+ \to π^0 \ell^+ ν_\ell$ decay process within QCD sum rule approach

Abstract:In this paper, the semileptonic decays $D_s^+ \to \pi^0\ell^+ \nu_\ell$ with $\ell=(e,\mu)$ are investigated by using the light-cone sum rule approach. Firstly, the neutral meson mixing scheme between $\pi^0$, $\eta$, $\eta^\prime$ and pseudoscalar gluonium $G$ is discussed in a unified way, which leads to the direct connection between two different channels for $D_s^+\to \pi^0\ell^+\nu_\ell$ and $D_s^+ \to \eta\ell^+\nu_\ell$ by the $\pi^0-\eta$ mixing angle. Then we calculated the $D_s\to \pi^0$ transition form factors (TFFs) within QCD light-cone sum rule approach up to next-to-leading order correction. At the large recoil point, we have $f_+^{D_s^+\pi^0}(0)=0.0113_{-0.0019}^{+0.0024}$ and $f_-^{D_s^+\pi^0}(0)=0.0020_{-0.0009}^{+0.0008}$. Furthermore, the TFFs are extrapolated to the whole physical $q^2$-region by using the simplified $z(q^2)$-series expansion. The behaviors of TFFs and related three angular coefficient functions $a_{\theta_\ell}(q^2)$, $b_{\theta_\ell}(q^2)$ and $c_{\theta_\ell}(q^2)$ are given. The differential decay widths for $D_s^+ \to \pi^0\ell^+ \nu_\ell$ with respect to $q^2$ and $\cos\theta_\ell$ are presented, and also lead to the branching fractions ${\cal B}(D_s^+\to \pi ^0e^+\nu_e) =2.60_{-0.51}^{+0.57}\times 10^{-5}$ and ${\cal B}(D_s^+\to \pi ^0\mu^+\nu _\mu )= 2.58_{-0.51}^{+0.56}\times 10^{-5}$. These results show well agreement with the recent BESIII measurements and theoretical predictions. Then the differential distributions and integrated predictions for three angular observables, {\it i.e.} forward-backward asymmetries, $q^2$-differential flat terms and lepton polarization asymmetries are given separately. Lastly, we estimate the ratio for different decay channels ${\cal R}_{\pi ^0/\eta}^{\ell}=1.108_{-0.071}^{+0.039}\times 10^{-3}$.

Abstract:In this work, we extend the analysis of the pion axioproduction, $aN \to \pi{N}$, to include the impact of the Roper resonance $N^*(1440)$ together the previously studied $\Delta(1232)$ resonance. Our theoretical framework is chiral perturbation theory with explicit resonance fields to account for their respective impacts. We find that the Roper resonance also leads to an enhancement of the cross section within its energy range for various axion models. This enhancement provided by the Roper maintains stability even when the parameter $\sin^2{\beta}$ of the DFSZ model undergoes variations. In contrast, the enhancement given by the $\Delta$ gradually diminishes and finally disappears as $\sin^2{\beta}$ approaches $1$. Furthermore, the resonance peaks given by the $\Delta$ are approximately the same in both the KSVZ model and the DFSZ model with $\sin^2{\beta} = \tfrac{1}{2}$, while the resonance peak given by the Roper in the former model is much more pronounced.

Long Distance Contributions to Penguin Processes $b\rightarrow Sγ$ and $b\rightarrow D Γ$

Abstract:We consider the long distance contributions to inclusive penguin processes through processes like $b\rightarrow s V$ and $b\rightarrow d V$ where $V$ are $^3S_1(c\bar c)$ states $\psi_i$ in the former case and include $\rho$, $\omega$ for the latter case. We carefully examine vector dominance for $\bar c c$ states, and conclude that there is a large suppression of $\psi\sim \gamma$ transition when $\psi$ is at $q^2 = 0$. The long distance effects can be at most 10\% in both the amplitudes for $b\rightarrow s\gamma$ and $b\rightarrow d \gamma$. Although the long distance contributions are small, the ratio $BR(b\rightarrow d\gamma)/BR(b \rightarrow s \gamma) = |V_{td}/V_{ts}|^2$ does not hold due to significant $u$ and $c$ loop contributions to the short distance $b\rightarrow d\gamma$ amplitudes .
The Π−p→a0−ηp Reaction in an Effective Lagrangian Model

Abstract:In this work, we perform a study of the pi(-) p -> a(0)(-) eta p reaction within an effective Lagrangian approach and isobar model. In our model, we consider the excitation of the N* and Delta* resonances in the intermediate states and background terms. Based on our model, it is found that this reaction is dominated by the production of the N (1535) in the near threshold region. And the contributions from other well-established N* or Delta* resonances only play minor roles. Besides, we discuss the possibility of verifying the existence of a narrow nucleon resonance N(1685)/N (1700) proposed by some recent works in the present reaction. With adopting different quantum numbers, we find that it may contribute significantly in this reaction. Thus this reaction may provide a good platform to study the properties of nucleon resonances, e.g., N (1535) and N(1685)/N (1700), which couple strongly with the eta N channel. To compare with future experiments, the predictions of the total cross sections, the angular distributions, and invariant mass spectrums of final particles are also presented. Furthermore, the off-shell effects due to high-spin states are also discussed.

Abstract:We report on a theoretical study of the $\pi^- p \to D^- D^0 p$ reaction near threshold within an effective Lagrangian approach. The production process is described by $t$ channel $D^{*0}$ meson exchange, $s$-channel nucleon pole, and $u$ channel $\Sigma^{++}_{c}$ exchange. In our work, the final $D^0 p$ results from the ground $\Lambda^+_c(2286)$ state and also dominantly from the excited $\Lambda^+_c(2940)$ state which is assumed as a $D^{*0} p$ molecular state with spin parity $J^P = \frac{1}{2}^+$ or $\frac{1}{2}^-$. We calculate the total cross section of the $\pi^- p \to D^- D^0 p$ reaction. It is shown that the spin parity assignment of $\frac{1}{2}^-$ for $\Lambda^+_c(2940)$ gives a sizable enhancement for the total cross section in comparison with a choice of $J^p = \frac{1}{2}^+$. However, our theoretical result of the total cross section is sensitive to the value of the cutoff parameter involved in the form factor of the exchanged off-shell particles. Moreover, we also calculate the second order differential cross section and find it can be used to determine the parity of the $\Lambda^+_c(2940)$. It is expected that our model calculations can be tested by future experiments at J-PARC in Japan.
Roles of the scalar $f_0(500)$ and $f_0(980)$ in the process $D^0\to π^0π^0 \bar{K}^0$

Abstract:Motivated by the near-threshold enhancement and the dip structure around 1~GeV in the $\pi^0\pi^0$ invariant mass distribution of the process $D^0\to \pi^0\pi^0\bar{K}^0$ observed by the CLEO Collaboration, we have investigated this process by taking into account the contribution from the $S$-wave pseudoscalar meson-pseudoscalar meson interactions within the chiral unitary approach, and also the one from the intermediate resonance $K^{*}(892)$. Our results are in good agreement with the CLEO measurements, which implies that, the near-threshold enhancement near the $\pi^0\pi^0$ threshold is mainly due to the contributions from the scalar meson $f_0(500)$ and the intermediate $K^*$, and the cusp structure around 1~GeV in the $\pi^0\pi^0$ invariant mass distribution should be associated with the scalar meson $f_0(980)$.

Abstract:$pp\to pp\pi^0$ and $pp\to pp\eta$ were considered close to threshold. The pion production was found not only to be dominated by impulse approximation (IA) and rescattering contributions, but also strongly by box-diagrams, resonances and heavy-meson exchanges. New relevant contributions for the IA were found. The role of the offshell behaviour of nucleon-resonance couplings ($P_{11}(1440), S_{11}(1535)$) and of interference effects for the eta production was investigated. The results opened a large door for microsopic understanding of short range physics. A covariant model for $pp\to pp\eta$ being under construction is going to be finished.
