Abstract:We establish a rationality result for linear combinations of traces of cycle integrals of certain meromorphic Hilbert modular forms. These are meromorphic counterparts to the Hilbert cusp forms $\omega_m(z_1,z_2)$, which Zagier investigated in the context of the Doi-Naganuma lift. We give an explicit formula for these cycle integrals, expressed in terms of the Fourier coefficients of harmonic Maass forms. A key element in our proof is the explicit construction of locally harmonic Hilbert-Maass forms on $\mathbb{H}^2$, which are analogous to the elliptic locally harmonic Maass forms examined by Bringmann, Kane, and Kohnen. Additionally, we introduce a regularized theta lift that maps elliptic harmonic Maass forms to locally harmonic Hilbert-Maass forms and is closely related to the Doi-Naganuma lift.

Abstract:In the context of holomorphic forms on tube domains, singular automorphic forms were studied by Maass [Maa], Freitag [Fre], and Resnikoff [Res], among others. A holomorphic form is singular if it is annihilated by certain differential operator(s). It is known that this is the case if and only if all its “nondegenerate” Fourier coefficients vanish, and if and only if it has one of the “singular weights”. The equivalence of these properties are far from trivial, and they constitute some of the basic results in the theory.

Abstract:We derive some Hodge integral identities by taking various limits of the Mariño-Vafa formula using the cut-and-join equation. These identities include the formula of generalλg\lambda _g-integrals, the formula ofλg−1\lambda _{g-1}-integrals onM¯g,1{\overline {\mathcal {M}}}_{g,1}, the formula of cubicλ\lambdaintegrals onM¯g{\overline {\mathcal {M}}}_g, and the ELSV formula relating Hurwitz numbers and Hodge integrals. In particular, our proof of the MV formula by the cut-and-join equation leads to a new and simple proof of theλg\lambda _gconjecture. We also present a proof of the ELSV formula completely parallel to our proof of the Mariño-Vafa formula.

Abstract:The main theme of this paper is that singular automorphic forms on classical groups are given by theta series liftings. We establish several inequalities relating the automorphic multiplicities of a given representation and that of its abstract theta lift. Our methods allow one to lift noncuspidal, square integrable automorphic forms when the dual pair involved is in the stable range. In this way we construct new families of singular automorphic forms, many of which are clearly unipotent. In fact, starting from one-dimensional representations and repeating the procedure (of lifting in the stable range), one may obtain all automorphic forms which are quadratic unipotent in the sense of Moeglin.
On Jacobi--Weierstrass mock modular forms

Abstract:We construct harmonic weak Maass forms that map to cusp forms of weight $k\geq 2$ with rational coefficients under the $\xi$-operator. This generalizes work of the first author, Griffin, Ono, and Rolen, who constructed distinguished preimages under this differential operator of weight $2$ newforms associated to rational elliptic curves using the classical Weierstrass theory of elliptic functions. We extend this theory and construct a vector-valued Jacobi--Weierstrass $\zeta$-function which is a generalization of the classical Weierstrass $\zeta$-function.

Abstract:We study meromorphic modular forms associated with positive definite binary quadratic forms and their cycle integrals along closed geodesics in the modular curve. We show that suitable linear combinations of these meromorphic modular forms have rational cycle integrals. Along the way we evaluate the cycle integrals of the Siegel theta function associated with an even lattice of signature (1, 2) in terms of Hecke's indefinite theta functions.

Abstract:We show that certain space of vector valued harmonic weak Maass forms of half integral weight is isomorphic to a space of scalar valued ones whose Fourier coefficients are supported on suitable progressions. This kind of result for holomorphic modular forms was proved by Eichler and Zagier.

Abstract:We introduce a simple procedure to integrate differential forms with arbitrary holomorphic poles on Riemann surfaces. It gives rise to an intrinsic regularization of such singular integrals in terms of the underlying conformal geometry. Applied to products of Riemann surfaces, this regularization scheme establishes an analytic theory for integrals over configuration spaces, including Feynman graph integrals arising from two dimensional chiral quantum field theories. Specializing to elliptic curves, we show such regularized graph integrals are almost-holomorphic modular forms that geometrically provide modular completions of the corresponding ordered A-cycle integrals.

Abstract:We establish an isomorphism between certain complex-valued and vector-valued modular form spaces of half-integral weight, generalizing the well-known isomorphism between modular forms for <span class="InlineEquation">$\Gamma _0(4)$</span> with Kohnen's plus condition and modular forms for the Weil representation associated to the lattice with Gram matrix (2). With such an isomorphism, we prove the Zagier duality and express the Borcherds lifts in the case of <span class="InlineEquation">$\text {O}(2,1)$</span> explicitly.

Abstract:By comparing two different evaluations of a modified (à la Borcherds) higher Siegel theta lift on even lattices of signature $(r,s)$, we prove Eichler--Selberg type relations for a wide class of negative weight vector-valued mock modular forms. In doing so, we detail several properties of the lift, as well as showing that it produces an infinite family of local (and locally harmonic) Maaß forms on Grassmanians in certain signatures.

Abstract:We investigate a new family of locally harmonic Maass forms which correspond to periods of modular forms. They transform like negative weight modular forms and are harmonic apart from jump singularities along infinite geodesics. Our main result is an explicit splitting of the new locally harmonic Maass forms into a harmonic part and a locally polynomial part that captures the jump singularities. As an application, we obtain finite rational formulas for suitable linear combinations of periods of meromorphic modular forms associated to positive definite binary quadratic forms.

Abstract:We prove a geometric formula for the cycle integrals of Parson's weight 2k modular integrals in terms of the intersection angles of geodesics on modular curves. Our result is an analog for modular integrals of a classical formula for the cycle integrals of certain hyperbolic Poincar\'e series, due to Katok. On the other hand, it extends a recent geometric formula of Matsusaka and Duke, Imamo\={g}lu, and T\'oth for the cycle integrals of weight 2 modular integrals.

Abstract:Recently Bringmann, Raum and Richter generalised the definition of Jacobi forms and Skoruppa's skew-holomorphic Jacobi forms by intertwining with harmonic Maass forms. We prove the isomorphism of the Kohnen's plus space analogue of harmonic Maass forms of weight $k-1/2$ for $\Gamma_0(4m)$ and the space of these skew-holomorphic harmonic Maass-Jacobi forms of weight $k$ and index $m$ for $k$ odd and $m=1$ or a prime.

Abstract:We study the holomorphic projection of mixed mock modular forms involving sesquiharmonic Maass forms. As a special case, we numerically express the holomorphic projection of a function involving real quadratic class numbers multiplied by a certain theta function in terms of eta quotients. We also analyze certain shifted convolution $L$-series involving mock modular forms and bound certain shifted convolution sums.

Abstract:We investigate the properties of Hecke operator for sesquiharmonic Maass forms. We begin by proving Hecke equivariance of the divisor lifting with respect to sesquiharmonic Mass functions, which maps an integral weight meromorphic modular form to the holomorphic part of the Fourier expansion of a weight 2 sesquiharmonic Maass form. Using this Hecke equivariance, we show that the sesquiharmonic Maass functions, whose images under the hyperbolic Laplace operator are the Faber polynomials $J_n$ of the $j$-function, form a Hecke system analogous to $J_n$. By combining the Hecke equivariance of the divisor lifting with that of the Borcherds isomorphism, we extend Matsusaka's finding on the twisted traces of sesquiharmonic Maass functions.
