Abstract:In this note we focus our attention on a stochastic heat equation defined on the Heisenberg group H n of order n. This equation is written as ∂ t u = 1 2 Δ u + u W ˙ α , where Δ is the hypoelliptic Laplacian on H n and { W ˙ α ; α > 0 } is a family of Gaussian space-time noises which are white in time and have a covariance structure generated by ( − Δ ) − α in space. Our aim is threefold: (i) Give a proper description of the noise W α ; (ii) Prove that one can solve the stochastic heat equation in the Itô sense as soon as α > n 2 ; (iii) Give some basic moment estimates for the solution u ( t , x ) .

Parabolic Anderson model with rough initial condition: continuity in law of the solution

Abstract:The parabolic Anderson model (PAM) is one of the most interesting and challenging SPDEs related to various physical phenomena, and can be described mathematically as a stochastic heat equation driven by linear multiplicative noise. In this paper, we consider PAM with initial condition given by a signed Borel measure on $R^d$. The forcing term under investigation is examined in two cases: (i) the regular noise, with the spatial covariance given by the Riesz kernel of order $\alpha \in (0, d)$ in spatial dimension $d \ge 1$; (ii) the rough noise, which is a fractional noise in space with Hurst index $H < 1/2$ and $d = 1$. In both cases, the noise is assumed to be colored in time and we consider a general initial condition. The objective of this article is to show that the solution is continuous in law with respect to the spatial noise parameter. The similar problem for the constant initial condition has been recently studied in Balan and Liang (2023).

Abstract:This paper attempts to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions to solve the parabolic Anderson model with fractional Gaussian noises: $\frac{\partial}{\partial t}u(t,x)=\frac{1}{2}\Delta u(t,x)+u(t,x)\dot{W}(t,x)$, where $ {W}(t,x)$ is the fractional Brownian field with temporal Hurst parameter $H_0\in [1/2, 1) $ and spatial Hurst parameters $H$ $ =(H_1, \cdots, H_d)$ $ \in (0, 1)^d$, and $\dot{W}(t,x)=\frac{\partial ^{d+1}}{\partial t \partial x_1 \cdots \partial x_d}W(t,x)$. When $d=1$ and when $(H_0,H)\in(\frac 12,1)\times(\frac 1{20},\frac 12)$ we show that the condition $2H_0+H>5/2$ is necessary and sufficient to ensure the existence of a unique solution for the parabolic Anderson Model. When $d\ge 2$, we find the necessary and sufficient condition on the Hurst parameters so that each chaos of the solution candidate is square integrable.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider fractional parabolic equation of the form $ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}=-(-\Delta)^{\frac{\alpha}{2}}u+u\dot W(t,x)$, where $-(-\Delta)^{\frac{\alpha}{2}}$ with $\alpha\in(0,2]$ is a fractional Laplacian and $\dot W$ is a Gaussian noise colored in space and time. The precise moment Lyapunov exponents for the Stratonovich solution and the Skorohod solution are obtained by using a variational inequality and a Feynman-Kac type large deviation result for space-time Hamiltonians driven by $\alpha$-stable process. As a byproduct, we obtain the critical values for $\theta$ and $\eta$ such that $\mathbb{E}\exp\left(\theta\left(\int_0^1 \int_0^1 |r-s|^{-\beta_0}\gamma(X_r-X_s)drds\right)^\eta\right)$ is finite, where $X$ is $d$-dimensional symmetric $\alpha$-stable process and $\gamma(x)$ is $|x|^{-\beta}$ or $\prod_{j=1}^d|x_j|^{-\beta_j}$.

Abstract:A metric measure space equipped with a Dirichlet form is called recurrent if its Hausdorff dimension is less than its walk dimension. In bounded domains of such spaces we study the parabolic Anderson models \[ \partial_{t} u(t,x) = \Delta u(t,x) + \beta u(t,x) \, \dot{W}_\alpha(t,x) \] where the noise $W_\alpha$ is white in time and colored in space when $\alpha >0$ while for $\alpha=0$ it is also white in space. Both Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions are considered. Besides proving existence and uniqueness in the Itô sense we also get precise $L^p$ estimates for the moments and intermittency properties of the solution as a consequence. Our study reveals new exponents which are intrinsically associated to the geometry of the underlying space and the results for instance apply in metric graphs or fractals like the Sierpiński gasket for which we prove scaling invariance properties of the models.

Abstract:We consider a $d$-dimensional branching particle system in a random environment. Suppose that the initial measures converge weakly to a measure with bounded density. Under the Mytnik-Sturm branching mechanism, we prove that the corresponding empirical measure $X_t^n$ converges weakly in the Skorohod space $D([0,T];M_F(\mathbb{R}^d))$ and the limit has a density $u_t(x)$, where $M_F(\mathbb{R}^d)$ is the space of finite measures on $\mathbb{R}^d$. We also derive a stochastic partial differential equation $u_t(x)$ satisfies. By using the techniques of Malliavin calculus, we prove that $u_t(x)$ is jointly Hölder continuous in time with exponent $\frac{1}{2}-\epsilon$ and in space with exponent $1-\epsilon$ for any $\epsilon>0$.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a Feynman–Kac formula for the stochastic parabolic Anderson model with Gaussian potential in space and fractional white noise in time with Hurst parameter H > 1/2. We obtain the necesscary and suffcient condition for the integrability of the Gaussian potential and the exponential integrability of the solution which is defined by Feynman–Kac formula. By the smoothing of the fractional white noise and techniques from Malliavin calculus, we prove that the Feynman–Kac representation is a mild solution of the stochastic parabolic Anderson equation.

Abstract:In this article, we obtain higher Hölder regularity results for weak solutions to nonlocal problems driven by the fractional double phase operator \begin{align*} \mc L u(x):=&2 \; {\rm P.V.} \int_{\mathbb R^N} \frac{|u(x)-u(y)|^{p-2}(u(x)-u(y))}{|x-y|^{N+ps_1}}dy \nonumber &+2 \; {\rm P.V.} \int_{\mathbb R^N} a(x,y) \frac{|u(x)-u(y)|^{q-2}(u(x)-u(y))}{|x-y|^{N+qs_2}}dy, \end{align*} where $1<p\leq q<\infty$, $0<s_2, s_1<1$ and the modulating coefficient $a(\cdot,\cdot)$ is a non-negative bounded function. Specifically, we prove higher space-time Hölder continuity result for weak solutions of time depending nonlocal double phase problems for a particular subclass of the modulating coefficients. Using suitable approximation arguments, we further establish higher (global) Hölder continuity results for weak solutions to the stationary problems involving the operator $\mc L$ with modulating coefficients that are locally continuous.

Abstract:We consider the continuous Anderson operator $H=\Delta+\xi$ on a two dimensional closed Riemannian manifold $\mathcal{S}$. We provide a short self-contained functional analysis construction of the operator as an unbounded operator on $L^2(\mathcal{S})$ and give almost sure spectral gap estimates under mild geometric assumptions on the Riemannian manifold. We prove a sharp Gaussian small time asymptotic for the heat kernel of $H$ that leads amongst others to strong norm estimates for quasimodes. We introduce a new random field, called Anderson Gaussian free field, and prove that the law of its random partition function characterizes the law of the spectrum of $H$. We also give a simple and short construction of the polymer measure on path space and relate the Wick square of the Anderson Gaussian free field to the occupation measure of a Poisson process of loops of polymer paths. We further prove large deviation results for the polymer measure and its bridges.

Abstract:We study the parabolic defocusing stochastic quantization equation with both mutliplicative spatial white noise and an independant space-time white noise forcing, on compact surfaces, with polynomial nonlinearity. After renormalizing the nonlinearity, we construct the random Gibbs measure as an absolutely continuous measure with respect to the law of the Anderson Gaussian Free Field for fixed realization of the spatial white noise. Then, when the initial data is distributed according to the Gibbs measure, we prove almost sure global well-posedness for the dynamics and invariance of the Gibbs measure.

Abstract:We show a priori bounds for solutions to $(\partial_t - \Delta) u = \sigma (u) \xi$ in finite volume in the framework of Hairer's Regularity Structures [Invent Math 198:269--504, 2014]. We assume $\sigma \in C_b^2 (\mathbb{R})$ and that $\xi$ is of negative Hölder regularity of order $- 1 - \kappa$ where $\kappa < \bar{\kappa}$ for an explicit $\bar{\kappa}< 1/3$, and that it can be lifted to a model in the sense of Regularity Structures. Our main results guarantee non-explosion of the solution in finite time and a growth which is at most polynomial in $t > 0$. Our estimates imply global well-posedness for the 2-d generalised parabolic Anderson model on the torus, as well as for the parabolic quantisation of the Sine-Gordon Euclidean Quantum Field Theory (EQFT) on the torus in the regime $\beta^2 \in (4 \pi, (1 + \bar{\kappa}) 4 \pi)$. We also consider the parabolic quantisation of a massive Sine-Gordon EQFT and derive estimates that imply the existence of the measure for the same range of $\beta$. Finally, our estimates apply to Itô SPDEs in the sense of Da Prato-Zabczyk [Stochastic Equations in Infinite Dimensions, Enc. Math. App., Cambridge Univ. Press, 1992] and imply existence of a stochastic flow beyond the trace-class regime.

Abstract:We build a regular version of the field $Z_{\beta}(t,x|s,y)$ which describes the Green's function, or fundamental solution, of the parabolic Anderson model (PAM) with white noise forcing on $\mathbb{R}^{1+1}$: $\partial_t Z_{\beta}(t,x | s,y) =$ $\frac{1}{2}\partial_{xx} Z_{\beta}(t,x|s,y) + \beta Z_{\beta}(t,x | s,y)W(t,x)$, $Z_{\beta}(s,x | s,y) = \delta(x-y)$ for all $-\infty < s \leq t < \infty$, all $x,y \in \mathbb{R}$, and all $\beta \in \mathbb{R}$ simultaneously. Through the superposition principle, our construction gives a pointwise coupling of all solutions to the PAM with initial or terminal conditions satisfying sharp growth assumptions, for all initial and terminal times. Using this coupling, we show that the PAM with a (sub-)exponentially growing initial condition admits conserved quantities given by the limits $\displaystyle \lim_{x\to \pm\infty} x^{-1}\log Z_{\beta}(t,x)$, in addition to proving many new basic properties of solutions to the PAM with general initial conditions. These properties are then connected to the existence, regularity, and continuity of the quenched continuum polymer measures. Through the polymer connection, we also show that the kernel $(x,y) \mapsto Z_{\beta}(t,x | s,y)$ is strictly totally positive for all $t>s$ and $\beta\in \mathbb{R}$.

Hölder Continuity for Fully Fractional Parabolic Equations with Space-time Nonlocal Operators

Abstract:We study the local Hölder regularity of weak solutions to the fully fractional parabolic equations involving spatial fractional diffusion and fractional time derivatives of the Marchaud type. It is worth noting that we do not impose boundedness assumptions on the weak solutions and nonhomogeneous terms. Within the space-time nonlocal framework, it is crucial to consider both space-dependent nonlocal tail terms and the first introduced time-dependent nonlocal tail term. By adapting a nonlocal variant of the parabolic De Giorgi iterative technique, we initially establish a priori local boundedness with tail terms for weak solutions and then prove the local Hölder continuity.

Abstract:We discuss the long time behaviour of the parabolic Anderson model, the Cauchy problem for the heat equation with random potential on$$\mathbb{Z}^{d}$$. We consider general i.i.d. potentials and show that exactly four qualitatively different types of intermittent behaviour can occur. These four universality classes depend on the upper tail of the potential distribution: (1) tails at ∞ that are thicker than the double-exponential tails, (2) double-exponential tails at ∞ studied by Gärtner and Molchanov, (3) a new class called almost bounded potentials, and (4) potentials bounded from above studied by Biskup and König. The new class (3), which contains both unbounded and bounded potentials, is studied in both the annealed and the quenched setting. We show that intermittency occurs on unboundedly increasing islands whose diameter is slowly varying in time. The characteristic variational formulas describing the optimal profiles of the potential and of the solution are solved explicitly by parabolas, respectively, Gaussian densities. Our analysis of class (3) relies on two large deviation results for the local times of continuous-time simple random walk. One of these results is proved by Brydges and the first two authors in [BHK04], and is also used here to correct a proof in [BK01].

Abstract:In this paper, we study some ergodic theorems of a class of linear systems of interacting diffusions, which is a parabolic Anderson model. First, under the assumption that the transition kernel a = ( a ( i, j )) i,j ∈ S is doubly stochastic, we obtain the long-time convergence to an invariant probability measure ν h starting from a bounded a -harmonic function h based on self-duality property, and then we show the convergence to the invariant probability measure ν h holds for a broad class of initial distributions. Second, if ( a ( i, j )) i,j∈S is transient and symmetric, and the diffusion parameter c remains below a threshold, we are able to determine the set of extremal invariant probability measures with finite second moment. Finally, in the case that the transition kernel ( a ( i, j )) i,j ∈ S is doubly stochastic and satisfies Case I (see Case I in [Shiga, T.: An interacting system in population genetics. J. Math. Kyoto Univ. , 20 , 213–242 (1980)]), we show that this parabolic Anderson model locally dies out independent of the diffusion parameter c .

Abstract:In this paper, we study an ergodic theorem of a parabolic Andersen model driven by Lévy noise. Under the assumption that A = (a(i, j)) i,j∈S is symmetric with respect to a σ-finite measure gp, we obtain the long-time convergence to an invariant probability measure ν h starting from a bounded nonnegative A-harmonic function h based on self-duality property. Furthermore, under some mild conditions, we obtain the one to one correspondence between the bounded nonnegative A-harmonic functions and the extremal invariant probability measures with finite second moment of the nonnegative solution of the parabolic Anderson model driven by Lévy noise, which is an extension of the result of Y. Liu and F. X. Yang.
Hyperbolic Anderson model with time-independent rough noise: Gaussian fluctuations

Abstract:In this article, we study the hyperbolic Anderson model in dimension 1, driven by a time-independent rough noise, i.e. the noise associated with the fractional Brownian motion of Hurst index $H \in (1/4,1/2)$. We prove that, with appropriate normalization and centering, the spatial integral of the solution converges in distribution to the standard normal distribution, and we estimate the speed of this convergence in the total variation distance. We also prove the corresponding functional limit result. Our method is based on a version of the second-order Gaussian Poincaré inequality developed recently in [27], and relies on delicate moment estimates for the increments of the first and second Malliavin derivatives of the solution. These estimates are obtained using a connection with the wave equation with delta initial velocity, a method which is different than the one used in [27] for the parabolic Anderson model.

Abstract:We give the necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the stochastic wave equation $ \frac{\partial^2 }{\partial t^2}u(t,x) =\Delta u(t,x)+\dot{W}(t,x)$ on $\mathbb{R}^d$, where $W(t,x)$ is a fractional Brownian field with temporal Hurst parameter $H_0>1/2$ and spatial Hurst parameters $H_i\in(0,1)$ for $i=1,\cdots,d$. Moreover, we obtain the growth rate and the Hölder continuity of the solution on the whole space $\mathbb{R}^d$ when $d=1$ and $H_0=1/2$.
