Abstract:In this article, we introduce a class of generalized matrix algebras, in which each algebra is called a normally upper triangular gm algebra, and characterise Gorenstein projective modules over this class of algebras. Moreover, a sufficient condition of strongly Gorenstein projective modules over normally upper triangular gm algebras is given. The importance of normally upper triangular gm algebras for us is that it includes the so-called path algebras of quivers over algebras and generalized path algebras. Due to this, we characterize Gorenstein projective modules and strongly Gorenstein projective modules over path algebras of quivers over algebras and generalized path algebras as applications of the main results on normally upper triangular gm algebras. At last, we give an example to show how all indecomposable Gorenstein projective modules over a given algebra are constructed by the result on generalized path algebras.
On the Category of Harish-Chandra Block Modules

Abstract:If $\Gamma$ is a subalgebra of $A$, then an $A$-module is called a Harish-Chandra module if it is the direct sum of its generalized weight spaces with respect to $\Gamma$. In 1994, Drozd, Futorny, and Ovsienko defined a generalization of a central subalgebra called a Harish-Chandra subalgebra and showed that when $\Gamma$ is a Harish-Chandra subalgebra of $A$ the structure of Harish-Chandra $A$-modules can be described using information about the relationship between $A$ and the cofinite maximal ideals of $\Gamma$. We extend these results by dropping the assumption that $\Gamma$ is quasicommutative. We facilitate this by introducing an equivalence relation $\sim$ on the set $\mathrm{cfs}(\Gamma)$ of cofinite maximal ideals of $\Gamma$. We define Harish-Chandra block modules with respect to $\sim$ to be $A$-modules that are the direct sum of so called block spaces corresponding to the equivalence classes $\mathrm{cfs}(\Gamma)/{\sim}$. If $\Gamma$ is a Harish-Chandra block subalgebra of $A$ with respect to $\sim$, then the structure of Harish-Chandra block modules can be described based on the relationship between $A$ and $\mathrm{cfs}(\Gamma)/{\sim}$. In particular, we give a decomposition of the category of Harish-Chandra block modules and the collection of isomorphism classes of irreducible Harish-Chandra block modules. Furthermore, we define a category $\mathcal{A}$ on $\mathrm{cfs}(\Gamma)/{\sim}$, and show the category of profinite $\mathcal{A}$-modules is equivalent to the category of Harish-Chandra block modules. Taking $\Gamma$ to be noetherian and quasicommutative, and $\sim$ to be the equality relation, we recover (in fact, a slight refinement of) results from Drozd, Futorny, and Ovsienko. Lastly, we provide a sufficient condition for when there are a finite number of isoclasses of simple Harish-Chandra block modules with a given support.

Harish-Chandra modules for map and affine Lie superalgebras

Abstract:We obtain a classification of simple modules with finite weight multiplicities over basic classical map superalgebras. Any such module is parabolic induced from a simple cuspidal bounded module over a cuspidal map superalgebra. Further on, any simple cuspidal bounded module is isomorphic to an evaluation module. As an application, we obtain a classification of all simple Harish-Chandra modules for basic classical loop superalgebras. Extending these results to affine Kac-Moody Lie superalgebras obtained by adding the degree derivation, we construct a family of bounded simple modules of level zero, and conjecture that all bounded simple cuspidal modules belong to this family. Finally, we show that for affine Kac-Moody Lie superalgebras of type I the Kac induction functor reduces the classification of all simple bounded modules to the classification of the same class of modules over the even part, whose classification is claimed by Dimitrov and Grantcharov.

Abstract: We prove Kazhdan's orthogonality conjecture for every real reductive group $G$ in Harish-Chandra's class, namely, the Euler-Poincar\'{e} pairing of two Harish-Chandra modules of $G$ agrees with the elliptic pairing of their corresponding global characters.

Abstract:Following the ideas of Ginzburg, for a subgroup K of a connected reductive ℝ-group G we introduce the notion of K -admissible D -modules on a homogeneous G -variety Z . We show that K -admissible D -modules are regular holonomic when K and Z are absolutely spherical. This framework includes: (i) the relative characters attached to two spherical subgroups H 1 and H 2 , provided that the twisting character χ i factors through the maximal reductive quotient of H i , for i = 1; 2; (ii) localization on Z of Harish-Chandra modules; (iii) the generalized matrix coeficients when K (ℝ) is maximal compact. This complements the holonomicity proven by Aizenbud–Gourevitch–Minchenko. The use of regularity is illustrated by a crude estimate on the growth of K -admissible distributions based on tools from subanalytic geometry.
The canonical dimension of modules for Iwasawa algebras

Abstract:Let F be a non-trivial finite extension of the p-adic numbers, and G be a compact p-adic Lie group whose Lie algebra is isomorphic to a split simple F-Lie algebra. We prove that the mod p Iwasawa algebra of G has no modules of canonical dimension one. One consequence is a new upper bound on the Krull dimension of the Iwasawa algebra. We also prove a canonical dimension-theoretic criterion for a mod p smooth admissible representation to be of finite length. Combining our results shows that any smooth admissible representation of $GL_n(F)$, with central character, has finite length if its dual has canonical dimension two.

Abstract:Let G be a real reductive group, and let chi be a character of a reductive subgroup H of G. We construct chi-invariant linear functionals on certain cohomologically induced representations of G, and we show that these linear functionals do not vanish on the bottom layers. Applying this construction, we prove two Archimedean nonvanishing hypotheses which are vital to the arithmetic study of special values of certain L-functions via modular symbols.

Abstract:Let $G$ be an infinite-dimensional real classical group containing the complete unitary group (or complete orthogonal group) as a subgroup. Then $G$ generates a category of double cosets (train) and any unitary representation of $G$ can be canonically extended to the train. We prove a technical lemma about the complete group $GL$ of infinite $p$-adic matrices with integer coefficients, this lemma implies that the phenomenon of automatic extension of unitary representations to trains is valid for infinite-dimensional $p$-adic groups.

Abstract:In this paper, we aim to obtain some results under the condition that the dual of a module has finite Gorenstein dimension. In this direction we derive results involving vanishing of Ext as well as the freeness or totally reflexivity of modules. For instance, we provide a generalization of a celebrated theorem by Evans and Griffith, obtain criteria for the totally reflexivity of modules over Cohen-Macaulay rings as well as of locally totally modules reflexive on the punctured spectrum, and recover a result by Araya. Moreover, we prove that the Auslander-Reiten conjecture holds true for all finitely generated modules $M$ over a Noetherian local ring $R$ such that $\operatorname{G-dim}_R(\operatorname{Hom}_R(M,R))<\infty$ and $\operatorname{pd}_R(\operatorname{Hom}_R(M,M))<\infty$. Additionally, we derive Gorenstein criteria under the condition that the dual of certain modules is of finite Gorenstein dimension. Furthermore, we explore some applications in the theory of the modules of Kähler differentials of order $n\geq 1$, specifically concerning the $k$-torsionfreeness of these modules and the Herzog-Vasconcelos's conjecture.

Irreducible modules of modular Lie superalgebras and super version of the first Kac-Weisfeiler conjecture

Abstract:Suppose $g=g_0+g_1$ is a finite-dimensional restricted Lie superalgebra over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p>2$. In this article, we propose a conjecture for maximal dimensions of irreducible modules over the universal enveloping algebra $U(g)$ of $g$, as a super generalization of the celebrated first Kac-Weisfeiler conjecture. It is demonstrated that the conjecture holds for all basic classical Lie superalgebras and all completely solvable restricted Lie superalgebras. In this process, we investigate irreducible representations of solvable Lie superalgebras.

Abstract:This is a continuation of a previous study [10] on Lie algebra gl ∞ in the context of quantum vertex algebras.In this paper, we study a particular category C of gl ∞ -modules and a subcategory Cint of integrable gl ∞ -modules.As the main results, we classify the irreducible modules in these two categories and we show that every module in category Cint is semi-simple.Furthermore, we determine the decomposition of the tensor products of irreducible modules in category Cint.

Abstract:Motivated by the maximal subgroup problem of the finite classical groups we begin the classification of imprimitive irreducible modules of finite quasisimple groups. We obtain our strongest results for modules over fields of characteristic 0, although much of our analysis carries over into positive characteristic. If G is a finite quasisimple group of Lie type, and K an algebraically closed field of cross characteristic, we prove that an imprimitive irreducible KG-module is Harish-Chandra induced. We then specialize to the case when K has characteristic 0 and apply Harish-Chandra philosophy to classify irreducible Harish-Chandra induced modules in terms of Harish-Chandra series, as well as in terms of Lusztig series. One of the surprising outcome of our investigations is the fact that, asymptotically, most of the irreducible KG-modules are imprimitive in this situation. For exceptional groups of Lie type of rank at most 2, and for sporadic groups, we list all ordinary irreducible imprimitive characters.

Abstract:For a connected reductive group G and an affine smooth G-variety X over the complex numbers, the localization functor takes g-modules to D-X-modules. We extend this construction to an equivariant and derived setting using the formalism of h-complexes due to Beilinson-Ginzburg, and show that the localizations of Harish-Chandra (g, K)-modules onto X = H\G have regular holonomic cohomologies when H, K subset of G are both spherical reductive subgroups. The relative Lie algebra homologies and Ext-branching spaces for (g, K)-modules are interpreted geometrically in terms of equivariant derived localizations. As direct consequences, we show that they are finite-dimensional under the same assumptions, and relate Euler-Poincare characteristics to local index theorem; this recovers parts of the recent results of M. Kitagawa. Examples and discussions on the relation to Schwartz homologies are also included.

Abstract:In this paper, we treat $\mathscr{D}$-modules on the basic affine space $G/U$ and their global sections for a semisimple complex algebraic group $G$. Our aim is to prepare basic results about large non-irreducible modules for the branching problem and harmonic analysis of reductive Lie groups. A main tool is a formula given by Bezrukavnikov--Braverman--Positselskii. The formula is about a product of functions and their Fourier transforms on $G/U$ like Capelli's identity. Using the formula, we give a generalization of the Beilinson--Bernstein correspondence. We show that the global sections of holonomic $\mathscr{D}$-modules are also holonomic using the formula. As a consequence, we give a large algebra action on the $\mathfrak{u}$-cohomologies $H^i(\mathfrak{u}; V)$ of a $\mathfrak{g}$-module $V$ when $V$ is realized as a holonomic $\mathscr{D}$-module. We consider affinity of the supports of the $\mathfrak{t}$-modules $H^i(\mathfrak{u}; V)$.

Construction of irreducible $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak{g})^{G'}$-modules and discretely decomposable restrictions

Abstract:In this paper, we study the irreducibility of $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak{g})^{G'}$-modules on the spaces of intertwining operators in the branching problem of reductive Lie algebras, and construct a family of finite-dimensional irreducible $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak{g})^{G'}$-modules using the Zuckerman derived functors. We provide criteria for the irreducibility of $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak{g})^{G'}$-modules in the cases of generalized Verma modules, cohomologically induced modules, and discrete series representations. We treat only discrete decomposable restrictions with certain dominance conditions (quasi-abelian and in the good range). To describe the $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak{g})^{G'}$-modules, we give branching laws of cohomologically induced modules using ones of generalized Verma modules when $K'$ acts on $K/L_K$ transitively.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of infinite simple Lie conformal algebras associated to a class of generalized Block type Lie algebras. The central extensions by a one-dimensional center $\mathbb {C}\mathfrak {c}$ , conformal derivations and free intermediate series modules of this class of Lie conformal algebras are determined. Moreover, we also show that these Lie conformal algebras do not have any non-trivial finite conformal modules. Consequently, these Lie conformal algebras cannot be embedded into gcN for any positive integer N.

Abstract:Let be a bi-complete duality pair. We consider when the relative Gorenstein modules with respect to such a duality pair coincide with the classical homological modules. As applications, we characterize (weak) global dimension via such a duality pair, characterize strongly CM-freeness of flat-typed -Gorenstein rings and obtain the compactly-generatedness of some relative derived categories. Applying the results into frequent duality pairs, our results unify the corresponding results for Gorenstein AC-modules and Ding modules.

Locally finite infinity-modules and weak Loday-Pirashvili modules over differential graded Lie algebras

Abstract: Motivated by recent developments of $\infty$-categorical theories related to differential graded (dg for short) Lie algebras, we develop a general framework for locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules over a dg Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. We show that the category of such locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules is almost a model category in the sense of Vallette. As a homotopy theoretical generalization of Loday and Pirashvili's Lie algebra objects in the tensor category of linear maps, we further study weak Loday-Pirashvili modules consisting of $\infty$-morphisms from locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules to the adjoint module $\mathfrak{g}$. From the category of such weak Loday-Pirashvili modules over $\mathfrak{g}$, we find a functor that maps to the category of Leibniz$_\infty$ algebras enriched over the Chevalley-Eilenberg dg algebra of $\mathfrak{g}$. This functor can be regarded as the homotopy lifting of Loday and Pirashvili's original method to realize Leibniz algebras from Lie algebra objects in the category of linear maps.
