Abstract:We present some bounds of the inverses of tails of the Riemann zeta function on $0 < s < 1$ and compute the integer parts of the inverses of tails of the Riemann zeta function for $s=\frac{1}{2}, \frac{1}{3}$ and $\frac{1}{4}$.

Abstract:We study the behavior of $r$-fold zeta-functions of Euler-Zagier type with identical arguments $\zeta_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$ on the real line. Our basic tool is an "infinite'' version of Newton's classical identities. We carry out numerical computations, and draw graphs of $\zeta_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$ for real $s$, for several small values of $r$. Those graphs suggest various properties of $\zeta_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$, some of which we prove rigorously. When $s \in [0,1]$, we show that $\zeta_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$ has $r$ asymptotes at $\Re s=1/k$ ($1\leq k\leq r$), and determine the asymptotic behavior of $\zeta_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$ close to those asymptotes. Numerical computations establish the existence of several real zeros for $2\leq r\leq 10$ (in which only the case $r=2$ was previously known). Based on those computations, we raise a conjecture on the number of zeros for general $r$, and gives a formula for calculating the number of zeros. We also consider the behavior of $\zeta_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$ outside the interval $[0,1]$. We prove asymptotic formulas for $\zeta_r(-k,-k,\ldots,-k)$, where $k$ takes odd positive integer values and tends to $+\infty$. Moreover, on the number of real zeros of $\zeta_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$, we prove that there are exactly $(r-1)$ real zeros on the interrval $(-2n,-2(n-1))$ for any $n \geq 2$.

Abstract:Abstract In this work, we estimate the sum over the nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function where is a complex number with and and are Dirichlet polynomials. Moreover, we estimate the discrete mean value above for higher derivatives where is replaced by for all . The formulae we obtain generalize a number of previous results in the literature. As an application, assuming the Riemann hypothesis, we obtain the lower bound which was previously known under the generalized Riemann hypothesis, only in the case .

Abstract:We obtain conditional upper bounds for negative discrete moments of the derivative of the Riemann zeta-function averaged over a subfamily of zeros of the zeta function which is expected to have full density inside the set of all zeros. For $k\leq 1/2$, our bounds for the $2k$-th moments are expected to be almost optimal. Assuming a conjecture about the maximum size of the argument of the zeta function on the critical line, we obtain upper bounds for these negative moments of the same strength while summing over a larger subfamily of zeta zeros.

Abstract:Let S(t)=1πImlogζ12+it . We prove an unconditional lower bound on the measure of the sets {t∈[T,2T]:S(t)⩾V} for loglogT⩽V≪logTloglogT1/3 . For V⩽(logT)1/3−ε , our bound has a Gaussian shape with variance proportional to loglogT . At the endpoint, V≍logTloglogT1/3 , our result implies the best known Ω ‐theorem for S(t) that is due to Tsang. We also explain how the method breaks down for V≫logTloglogT1/3 given our current knowledge about the zeros of the zeta function. Conditionally on the Riemann hypothesis, we extend our results to the range loglogT⩽V≪logTloglogT1/2 .

As a consequence, we improve the explicit zero-free region for $\zeta(s)$, showing that $\zeta(\sigma+it)$ has no zeros in the region $\sigma \geq 1-1 /\left(54.004(\log |t|)^{2 / 3}(\log \log |t|)^{1 / 3}\right)$ for $|t| \geq 3$ and asymptotically in the region $\sigma \geq 1-1 /\left(48.0718(\log |t|)^{2 / 3}(\log \log |t|)^{1 / 3}\right)$ for $|t|$ sufficiently large.

Abstract:In this article, we extend the result of Conrey [5, Theorem 2] to shorter intervals for higher-order derivatives of the zeta function. That is we study the mean value of the product of two finite order derivatives of the zeta function multiplied by a mollifier in short intervals. In this process, we obtain better mollifier length in some short intervals compared to the length of mollifier implied by Conrey's result. These finer studies allow us to refine the error term of some classical results of Levinson and Montgomery [13], Ki and Lee [11] on zero density estimates of $\zeta^{(k)}$.

Abstract:In this note, we prove Selberg's announced result on $r$-gaps between zeros of the Riemann zeta-function $\zeta$. Our proof uses a result on variations of $\arg\zeta$ by Tsang based on Selberg's method. The same result with explicit constants under the Riemann Hypothesis has been obtained by Conrey and Turnage-Butterbaugh using a different method. We explain how to obtain explicit constants under the Riemann Hypothesis using our approach which is based on Selberg's and Tsang's arguments.

Abstract:Non-negative trigonometric polynomials satisfying certain properties are employed when studying a number of aspects of the Riemann zeta function. When establishing zero-free regions in the critical strip, the classical polynomial $3+4\cos(\theta)+\cos(2\theta)$ used by de la Vallée Poussin has since been replaced by more beneficial polynomials with larger degree. The classical polynomial was also employed by Titchmarsh to provide a lower bound on $|\zeta(\sigma+it)|$ when $\sigma>1$. We show that this polynomial is optimal for this purpose.

Abstract:We derive explicit upper bounds for the Riemann zeta-function $\zeta(\sigma + it)$ on the lines $\sigma = 1 - k/(2^k - 2)$ for integer $k \ge 4$. This is used to show that the zeta-function has no zeroes in the region $$\sigma > 1 - \frac{\log\log|t|}{21.233\log|t|},\qquad |t| \ge 3.$$ This is the largest known zero-free region for $\exp(171) \le t \le \exp(5.3\cdot 10^{5})$. Our results rely on an explicit version of the van der Corput $A^nB$ process for bounding exponential sums.

Abstract:We present several formulae for the large $t$ asymptotics of the Riemann zeta function $\zeta(s)$, $s=\sigma+i t$, $0\leq \sigma \leq 1$, $t>0$, which are valid to all orders. A particular case of these results coincides with the classical results of Siegel. Using these formulae, we derive explicit representations for the sum $\sum_a^b n^{-s}$ for certain ranges of $a$ and $b$. In addition, we present precise estimates relating this sum with the sum $\sum_c^d n^{s-1}$ for certain ranges of $a, b, c, d$. We also study a two-parameter generalization of the Riemann zeta function which we denote by $\Phi(u,v,\beta)$, $u\in \mathbb{C}$, $v\in \mathbb{C}$, $\beta \in \mathbb{R}$. Generalizing the methodology used in the study of $\zeta(s)$, we derive asymptotic formulae for $\Phi(u,v,\beta)$.

Abstract:Recently, we have applied the generalized Littlewood theorem concerning contour integrals of the logarithm of the analytical function to find the sums over inverse powers of zeros for the incomplete gamma and Riemann zeta functions, polygamma functions, and elliptical functions. Here, the same theorem is applied to study such sums for the zeros of the Hurwitz zeta function ζ(s,z), including the sum over the inverse first power of its appropriately defined non-trivial zeros. We also study some related properties of the Hurwitz zeta function zeros. In particular, we show that, for any natural N and small real ε, when z tends to n = 0, −1, −2... we can find at least N zeros of ζ(s,z) in the ε neighborhood of 0 for sufficiently small |z+n|, as well as one simple zero tending to 1, etc.
