Abstract:It is known that automorphisms of quasi-circular domains fixing the origin are polynomial mappings. By introducing the so-called resonance order and quasi-resonance order, we provide a uniform upper bound for the degree of such polynomial automorphisms. As a particular consequence of our result, we obtain a generalization of the classical Cartan's theorem for circular domains to the quasi-circular case.

Geometry of Complex Bounded Domains with Finite-Volume Quotients

Abstract:We first show that for a bounded pseudoconvex domain with a manifold quotient of finite-volume in the sense of Kahler-Einstein measure, the identity component of the automorphism group of this domain is semi-simple without compact factors. This partially answers an open question in [Fra95]. Then we apply this result in different settings to solve several open problems, for examples, (1). We prove that the automorphism group of the Griffiths domain [Gri71] in ℂ^2 is discrete. This gives a complete answer to an open question raised four decades ago. (2). We show that for a contractible HHR/USq complex manifold D with a finite-volume manifold quotient M, if D contains a one-parameter group of holomorphic automorphisms and the fundamental group of M is irreducible, then D is biholomorphic to a bounded symmetric domain. This theorem can be viewed as a finite-volume version of Nadel-Frankel's solution for the Kahzdan conjecture, which has been open for years. (3). We show that for a bounded convex domain D⊂ℂ^n of C^2-smooth boundary, if D has a finite-volume manifold quotient with an irreducible fundamental group, then D is biholomorphic to the unit ball in ℂ^n, which partially solves an old conjecture of Yau. For (2) and (3) above, if the complex dimension is equal to 2, more refined results will be provided.

Abstract:By simplifying the first and the second variation formulas of the energy functional and generalizing the Weitzenbock formula, we study the stability and the rigidity of harmonic maps between Finsler manifolds. It is proved that any nondegenerate harmonic map from a compact Einstein Riemannian manifold with nonnegative scalar curvature to a Berwald manifold with nonpositive flag curvature is totally geodesic and there is no nondegenerate stable harmonic map from a Riemannian unit sphere S-n (n > 2) to any Finsler manifold.

Abstract:We prove the existence of the arithmetic degree for dominant rational self-maps at any point whose orbit is generic. As a corollary, we prove the same existence for étale morphisms on quasi-projective varieties and any points on it. We apply the proof of this fact to dynamical Lang-Siegel problem. Namely, we prove that local height function associated with zero-dimensional subscheme grows slowly along orbits of a rational map under reasonable assumption. Also if local height function associated with any proper closed subscheme grows fast on a subset of an orbit of a self-morphism, we prove that such subset has Banach density zero under some assumptions.

Abstract:In this paper, we define what is called a quasi-Reinhardt domain and study biholomorphisms between such domains. We show that all biholomorphisms between two bounded quasi-Reinhardt domains fixing the origin are polynomial mappings, and we give a uniform upper bound for the degree of such polynomial mappings. Abstract:In this article we introduce higher order Bergman functions for bounded complete Reinhardt domains in a variety with possibly isolated singularities. These Bergman functions are invariant under biholomorhic maps. We use Bergman functions to determine all the biholomorhic maps between two such domains. As a result, we can construct an infinite family of numerical invariants from the Bergman functions for such domains in A(n) variety {(x,y,z) is an element of C-3 : xy = z(n+1)}. These infinite family of numerical invariants are actually a complete set of invariants for either the set of all bounded strictly pseudoconvex complete Reinhardt domain in A(n) variety or the set of all bounded pseudoconvex complete Reinhardt domains with real analytic boundaries in A(n) variety. In particular the moduli space of these domains in A(n) variety is constructed explicitly as the image of this complete family of numerical invariants. It is well known that A(n) variety is the quotient of cyclic group of order n + 1 on C-2. We prove that the moduli space of bounded complete Reinhardt domains in A(n) variety coincides with the moduli space of the corresponding bounded complete Reinhardt domains in C-2. Since our complete family of numerical invariants are computable, we have solved the biholomorphically equivalent problem for large family of domainsin C-2

Abstract:We prove that, for an Enriques surface in odd characteristic, the automorphism group is finitely generated and it acts on the effective nef cone with a rational polyhedral fundamental domain. We also construct a smooth projective surface in odd characteristic which is birational to an Enriques surface and whose automorphism group is discrete but not finitely generated.

Rigidity of periodic points for loxodromic automorphisms of affine surfaces

Abstract:We show that two automorphisms of an affine surface with dynamical degree strictly larger than 1 share a Zariski dense set of periodic points if and only if they have the same periodic points. We construct canonical heights for these automorphisms and use arithmetic equidistribution for adelic line bundles over quasiprojective varieties following the work of Yuan and Zhang. Finally, we extend the local arithmetic Hodge index theorem to a certain class of vertical adelic line bundles over quasiprojective varieties to conclude the proof.

Abstract:Due to the orbifold singularities, the intersection numbers on the moduli space of curves $\bar{\sM}_{g,n}$ are in general rational numbers rather than integers. We study the properties of the denominators of these intersection numbers and their relationship with the orders of automorphism groups of stable curves. In particular, we prove a conjecture of Itzykson and Zuber. We also present a conjectural multinomial type numerical property for Hodge integrals.

Abstract:We establish an Amann-Zehnder-type result for resonance systems of quasilinear elliptic equations with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions, involving nonlinearities growing asymptotically ( p , q ) -linear at infinity. The proof relies on a cohomological linking in a product Banach space where the properties of cones of the sublevels are missing, differently from the single quasilinear equation. We also perform critical group computations of the energy functional at the origin, in spite of the lack of its C 2 regularity, to exclude that the found mini-max solution is trivial. Finally, we furnish a local condition which guarantees that the found solution is not semi-trivial.

Abstract:Let $\Omega \subset \mathbb{C}^n$ be a domain whose Bergman space contains all holomorphic monomials. We derive sufficient conditions for $\Omega$ to be Reinhardt, complete Reinhardt, circular or Hartogs in terms of the orthogonality relations of the monomials with respect to their $L^2$-inner products and their $L^2$-norms. More generally, we give sufficient conditions for $\Omega$ to be invariant under a linear group action of an $r$-dimensional torus on $\Omega$.

In this paper, we give a complete description of automorphism groups of generalized Hua domains. We also discuss the corresponding problem for Hua constructions.

Abstract:We prove that for a dominant rational self-map $f$ on a quasi-projective variety defined over $\overline{\mathbb{Q}}$, there is a point whose $f$-orbit is well-defined and its arithmetic degree is arbitrary close to the first dynamical degree of $f$. As an application, we prove that Zariski dense orbit conjecture holds for a birational map defined over $\overline{\mathbb{Q}}$ such that the first dynamical degree is strictly larger than the third dynamical degree. In particular, the conjecture holds for birational maps on threefolds with first dynamical degree larger than $1$.
