Abstract:We are concerned with the study of fixed points for mappings $T: X\to X$, where $(X,G)$ is a $G$-metric space in the sense of Mustafa and Sims. After the publication of the paper [Journal of Nonlinear and Convex Analysis. 7(2) (2006) 289--297] by Mustafa and Sims, a great interest was devoted to the study of fixed points in $G$-metric spaces. In 2012, the first and third authors observed that several fixed point theorems established in $G$-metric spaces are immediate consequences of known fixed point theorems in standard metric spaces. This observation demotivated the investigation of fixed points in $G$-metric spaces. In this paper, we open new directions in fixed point theory in $G$-metric spaces. Namely, we establish new versions of the Banach, Kannan and Reich fixed point theorems in $G$-metric spaces. We point out that the approach used by the first and third authors [Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012 (2012) 1--7] is inapplicable in the present study. We also provide some interesting applications related to mappings contracting perimeters of triangles.

To achieve our objective, we will introduce a new contraction condition to examine the fixed point for multi-valued mapping, then we will be investigating the obtained result to ensure the existence and uniqueness of this property for single-valued mapping. To show the use of our main result, we will give the relative result in the ordinary metric space.

Topological Methods in Nonlinear Analysis

Abstract:Let be a bounded, closed and convex subset of a reflexive metric space with a digraph such that -intervals along walks are closed and convex. In the main theorem we show that if is a monotone -nonexpansive mapping and there exists such that , then has a fixed point provided for each , has the fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings. In particular, it gives an essential generalization of the Dehaish-Khamsi theorem concerning partial orders in complete uniformly convex hyperbolic metric spaces. Some counterparts of this result for modular spaces, and for commutative families of mappings are given too.

Special attention is paid to the case that the topology is induced by a metric. Our conclusions generalize many well-known results. Several examples and illustrative applications are provided to support the exposed results.

Abstract:We show that if X is a complete metric space with uniform relative normal structure and G is a subgroup of the isometry group of X with bounded orbits, then there is a point in X fixed by every isometry in G . As a corollary, we obtain a theorem of U. Lang (2013) concerning injective metric spaces. A few applications of this theorem are given to the problems of inner derivations. In particular, we show that if L 1 ‚ĀĘ ( őľ ) is an essential Banach L 1 ‚ĀĘ ( G ) -bimodule, then any continuous derivation őī : L 1 ‚ĀĘ ( G ) ‚Üí L ‚ąě ‚ĀĘ ( őľ ) is inner. This extends a theorem of B.‚ÄČE. Johnson (1991) asserting that the convolution algebra L 1 ‚ĀĘ ( G ) is weakly amenable if G is a locally compact group.

Abstract:Motivated by Gopal and Vetro [Iranian Journal of Fuzzy Systems, 11(3), 95-107], we introduce a symmetric pair of $\beta$-admissible mappings and obtain common fixed point theorems for such a pair in complete and weak $G$-complete fuzzy metric spaces. In particular, we rectified, generalize and improve the common fixed point theorem obtained by Turkoglu and Sangurlu [Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 26(1), 137-142] for two fuzzy $\psi$-contractive mappings. We include non-trivial examples to exhibit the generality and demonstrate our results.

Abstract:In this paper, a generalization of fixed-point mappings with an iterate at a point in complete metric spaces is shown, using the notions of T-closed sets and i-P-regularity/d-P-regularity, proving conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the fixed point. Examples are provided to illustrate the results and an application to coupled fixed points is shown.

Abstract:Let T be a self-mapping on a complete metric space (X, d). In this paper, we obtain new fixed point theorems assuming that T satisfies a contractive-type condition of the following form: $$\begin{aligned} \psi (d(Tx,Ty)) \le \varphi (d(x,y)) \end{aligned}$$or T satisfies a generalized contractive-type condition of the form $$\begin{aligned} \psi (d(Tx,Ty)) \le \varphi (m(x,y)), \end{aligned}$$where ${\psi ,\varphi :(0,\infty ) \rightarrow {\mathbb {R}}}$ and m(x, y) is defined by $$\begin{aligned} m(x,y) = \max \left\{ d(x,y), d(x,Tx), d(y,Ty), [d(x,Ty)+d(y,Tx)] / 2 \right\} . \end{aligned}$$In both cases, the results extend and unify many earlier results. Among the other results, we prove that recent fixed point theorems of Wardowski (2012) and Jleli and Samet (2014) are equivalent to a special case of the well-known fixed point theorem of Skof (1977).

Abstract:A general fixed point theorem for isometries in terms of metric functionals is proved under the assumption of the existence of a conical bicombing. It is new for isometries of convex sets of Banach spaces as well as for non-locally compact CAT(0)-spaces and injective spaces. Examples of actions on non-proper CAT(0)-spaces come from the study of diffeomorphism groups, birational transformations, and compact Kähler manifolds. A special case of the fixed point theorem provides a novel mean ergodic theorem that in the Hilbert space case implies von Neumann's theorem. The theorem accommodates classically fixed-point-free isometric maps such as those of Kakutani, Edelstein, Alspach and Prus. Moreover, from the main theorem together with some geometric arguments of independent interest, one can deduce that every bounded invertible operator of a Hilbert space admits a nontrivial invariant metric functional on the space of positive operators. This is a result in the direction of the invariant subspace problem although its full meaning is dependent on a future determination of such metric functionals.

Abstract:In this paper we present some fixed-figure theorems as a geometric approach to the fixed-point theory when the number of fixed points of a self-mapping is more than one. To do this, we modify the Jleli-Samet type contraction and define new contractions on $S_{b}$-metric spaces. Also, we give some necessary examples to show the validity of our theoretical results. Abstract:Geometric properties of the fixed point set $Fix(f)$ of a self-mapping $f$ on a metric or a generalized metric space is an attractive issue. The set $Fix(f)$ can contain a geometric figure (a circle, an ellipse, etc.) or it can be a geometric figure. In this paper, we consider the set of simulation functions for geometric applications in the fixed point theory both on metric and some generalized metric spaces ($S$-metric spaces and $b$-metric spaces). The main motivation of this paper is to investigate the geometric properties of non unique fixed points of self-mappings via simulation functions.

Abstract:There have been many attempts to generalize the definition of a metric space in order to obtain possibilities for more general fixed point results. In this paper, we give a survey of recent results on reducing fixed point theorems on generalized metric spaces to fixed point theorems on metric spaces and then investigate this fact in other generalized metric spaces. We show that many generalized metric spaces are topologically equivalent to certain metric spaces or to previously generalized metric spaces. Also, the fixed point theory in these generalized metric spaces may be a consequence of the fixed point theory in certain metric spaces or in previously generalized metric spaces.

Abstract:This paper explores fixed points for both contractive and non-contractive mappings in traditional b-metric spaces, preordered b-metric spaces, and random b-metric spaces. Our findings provide insights into the behavior of mappings under various constraints and extend our approach to include coincidence and common fixed-point theorems in these spaces. We present new examples and graphical representations for the first time, offering novel results and enhancing several related findings in the literature, while broadening the scope of earlier works of Ran and Reurings, Nieto and Rodríguez-López, Górnicki, and others.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a metric space. Recently in~[1] it was considered a new type of mappings $T\colon X\to X$ which can be characterized as mappings contracting perimeters of triangles. These mappings are defined by the condition based on the mapping of three points of the space instead of two, as it is adopted in many fixed-point theorems. In the present paper we consider so-called $(F,G)$-contracting mappings, which form a more general class of mappings than mappings contracting perimeters of triangles. The fixed-point theorem for these mappings is proved. We prove also a fixed-point theorem for mappings contracting perimeters of triangles in the sense of Edelstein.

Abstract:Metric fixed point theory is becoming increasingly significant across various fields, including data science and iterative methods for solving optimization problems. This paper aims to introduce new fixed point theorems for set-valued mappings under novel regularity conditions, such as orbital regularity and orbital pseudo-Lipschitzness. Instead of traditional metric spaces, we adopt the framework of quasi-metric spaces, motivated by the need to address problems in spaces that are not necessarily metric, such as function spaces of homogeneous type. We also explore the stability of the set of fixed points under variations of the set-valued mapping. Additionally, we provide estimates for the distances from a given point to the set of fixed points and between two sets of fixed points. Building on these findings, we extend the discussion to similar problems involving fixed, coincidence, and cyclic/double fixed points within this framework. Abstract:We give a direct proof of Schauder's fixed point theorem in the setting of geodesic metric spaces, generalizing the classical Schauder's theorem and improving a recent version of this theorem in CAT(κ) spaces. Abstract:The class of O-metric spaces generalize several existing metric-types in literature including metric spaces, b-metric spaces, and ultra metric spaces. In this paper, we discuss the properties of the topology induced by an O-metric and establish in the setting, fixed point theorems of contractions and generalized contractions. The proofs of the theorems rely heavily on polygon O-inequalities which are a natural generalization of the triangle inequality, and the construction of which leads to the notion of O-series following a pattern of functions.
