Abstract:These lecture notes are intended as an introduction to the theory of rational Dunkl operators and the associated special functions, with an emphasis on positivity and asymptotics. We start with an outline of the general concepts: Dunkl operators, the intertwining operator, the Dunkl kernel and the Dunkl transform. We point out the connection with integrable particle systems of Calogero-Moser-Sutherland type, and discuss some systems of orthogonal polynomials associated with them. A major part is devoted to positivity results for the intertwining operator and the Dunkl kernel, the Dunkl-type heat semigroup, and related probabilistic aspects. The notes conclude with recent results on the asymptotics of the Dunkl kernel.

Abstract:Using the integral representations of the solutions of Schrödinger equation, which are the essential ingredients of the Gel'fand-Levitan and Marchenko integral equations of inverse scattering theory, we obtain a general theorem on the positivity of some integral transforms, and extend the theorem of Bochner on Fourier transforms of functions of positive type to more general transforms. The present study is restricted to the positive half-axis. We then obtain a theorem on the positivity of Fourier cosine transform of the phase-shifts.

Abstract:Let $L$ be a Schrödinger operator of the form $L=-\Delta+V$ acting on $L^2(\mathbb R^n)$ where the nonnegative potential $V$ belongs to the reverse Hölder class $B_q$ for some $q\geq n.$ In this article we will show that a function $f\in L^{2, \lambda}({\mathbb{R}^n}), 0<\lambda<n$ is the trace of the solution of ${\mathbb L}u=-u_{tt}+L u=0, u(x,0)= f(x),$ where $u$ satisfies a Carleson type condition \begin{eqnarray*} \sup_{x_B, r_B} r_B^{-\lambda}\int_0^{r_B}\int_{B(x_B, r_B)} t|\nabla u(x,t)|^2 {dx dt} \leq C <\infty. \end{eqnarray*} Its proof heavily relies on investigate the intrinsic relationship between the classical Morrey spaces and the new Campanato spaces $\mathscr{L}_L^{2,\lambda}({\mathbb{R}^n})$ associated to the operator $L$, i.e. $$\mathscr{L}_L^{2,\lambda}(\mathbb{R}^n)= {L}^{2,\lambda}(\mathbb{R}^n). $$ Conversely, this Carleson type condition characterizes all the ${\mathbb L}$-harmonic functions whose traces belong to the space $L^{2, \lambda}({\mathbb{R}^n})$ for all $ 0<\lambda<n$. This extends the previous results of [FJN, DYZ, JXY].

Intertwining operators beyond the Stark Effect

Abstract:The main mathematical manifestation of the Stark effect in quantum mechanics is the shift and the formation of clusters of eigenvalues when a spherical Hamiltonian is perturbed by lower order terms. Understanding this mechanism turned out to be fundamental in the description of the large-time asymptotics of the associated Schrödinger groups and can be responsible for the lack of dispersion in Fanelli, Felli, Fontelos and Primo [Comm. Math. Phys., 324(2013), 1033-1067; 337(2015), 1515-1533]. Recently, Miao, Su, and Zheng introduced in [Tran. Amer. Math. Soc., 376(2023), 1739--1797] a family of spectrally projected intertwining operators, reminiscent of the Kato's wave operators, in the case of constant perturbations on the sphere (inverse-square potential), and also proved their boundedness in $L^p$. Our aim is to establish a general framework in which some suitable intertwining operators can be defined also for non constant spherical perturbations in space dimensions 2 and higher. In addition, we investigate the mapping properties between $L^p$-spaces of these operators. In 2D, we prove a complete result, for the Schrödinger Hamiltonian with a (fixed) magnetic potential an electric potential, both scaling critical, allowing us to prove dispersive estimates, uniform resolvent estimates, and $L^p$-bounds of Bochner--Riesz means. In higher dimensions, apart from recovering the example of inverse-square potential, we can conjecture a complete result in presence of some symmetries (zonal potentials), and open some interesting spectral problems concerning the asymptotics of eigenfunctions.

Abstract:The boundedness on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of oscillatory singular integral operator T in the form e i|x| aΩ(x)|x|−n is studied, where a∈)R, a≠0,1 and Ω≠L 1(Sn−1) is homogeneous of degree zero and satisfies certain cancellation condition. When kernel Ω(x′≠)Llog+ L(Sn−1), the $\dot F_p^{\alpha ,q} (R^n )$ boundedness of the above operator is obtained. Meanwhile, when Ω(x) satisfies L 1-Dini condition, the above operator T is bounded on $\dot F_1^{0,1} (R^n )$.

Abstract:In this article we study operators with a dimension Δ ∼ O ( N ) and show that simple analytic expressions for the action of the dilatation operator can be found. The operators we consider are restricted Schur polynomials. There are two distinct classes of operators that we consider: operators labeled by Young diagrams with two long columns or two long rows. The main complication in working with restricted Schur polynomials is in building a projector from a given S n + m irreducible representation to an S n × S m irreducible representation (both specified by the labels of the restricted Schur polynomial). We give an explicit construction of these projectors by reducing it to the simple problem of addition of angular momentum in ordinary non-relativistic quantum mechanics. The diagonalization of the dilatation operator reduces to solving three term recursion relations. The fact that the recursion relations have only three terms is a direct consequence of the weak mixing at one loop of the restricted Schur polynomials. The recursion relations can be solved exactly in terms of symmetric Kravchuk polynomials or in terms of Clebsch-Gordan coefficients. This proves that the dilatation operator reduces to a decoupled set of harmonic oscillators and therefore it is integrable.

Abstract:The standard generators of tridiagonal algebras, recently introduced by Terwilliger, are shown to generate a new (in)finite family of mutually commuting operators which extends the Dolan-Grady construction. The involution property relies on the tridiagonal algebraic structure associated with a deformation parameter $q$. Representations are shown to be generated from a class of quadratic algebras, namely the reflection equations. The spectral problem is briefly discussed. Finally, related massive quantum integrable models are shown to be superintegrable.

Abstract:Dunkl theory is a far reaching generalization of Fourier analysis and special function theory related to root systems. During the sixties and seventies, it became gradually clear that radial Fourier analysis on rank one symmetric spaces was closely connected with certain classes of special functions in one variable. During the eighties, several attempts were made, mainly by the Dutch school, to extend these results in higher rank (i.e. in several variables), until the discovery of Dunkl operators in the rational case and Cherednik operators in the trigonometric case. Together with q-special functions introduced by Macdonald, this has led to a beautiful theory, developed by several authors, which encompasses in a unified way harmonic analysis on all Riemannian symmetric spaces and spherical functions <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://thereon.In" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> this series of lectures, delivered at the Summer School AAGADE 2015 (Analytic, Algebraic and Geometric Aspects of Differential Equations, Mathematical Research and Conference Center, Bedlewo, Poland, September 2015), we aim at giving an updated overview of Dunkl theory, with an emphasis on its analytic aspects.

Abstract:Let $L$ be the Dunkl Laplacian on the Euclidean space $\mathbb R^N$ associated with a normalized root $R$ and a multiplicity function $k(\nu)\ge 0, \nu\in R$. In this paper, we first prove that the Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces associated with the Dunkl Laplacian $L$ are identical to the Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces defined in the space of homogeneous type $(\mathbb R^N, \|\cdot\|, dw)$, where $dw({\rm x})=\prod_{\nu\in R}\langle \nu,{\rm x}\rangle^{k(\nu)}d{\rm x}$. Next, consider the Dunkl transform denoted by $\mathcal{F}$. We introduce the multiplier operator $T_m$, defined as $T_mf = \mathcal{F}^{-1}(m\mathcal{F}f)$, where $m$ is a bounded function defined on $\mathbb{R}^N$. Our second aim is to prove multiplier theorems, including the Hörmander multiplier theorem, for $T_m$ on the Besov and Tribel-Lizorkin spaces in the space of homogeneous type $(\mathbb R^N, \|\cdot\|, dw)$. Importantly, our findings present novel results, even in the specific case of the Hardy spaces.

Abstract:We develop the algebraic approach to duality, more precisely to intertwinings, within the context of particle systems in general spaces, focusing on the $\mathfrak{su}(1,1)$ current algebra. We introduce raising, lowering, and neutral operators indexed by test functions and we use them to construct unitary operators, which act as self-intertwiners for some Markov processes having the Pascal process's law as a reversible measure. We show that such unitaries relate to generalized Meixner polynomials. Our primary results are continuum counterparts of results in the discrete setting obtained by Carinci, Franceschini, Giardinà, Groenevelt, and Redig (2019).

A note on the positivity of inverse operators acting on $C^*$-algebras

Abstract:For a positive and invertible linear operator $T$ acting on a $C^*$-algebra, we give necessary and sufficient criteria for the inverse operator $T^{-1}$ to be positive, too. Moreover, a simple counterexample shows that $T^{-1}$ need not be positive even if $T$ is unital and its spectrum is contained in the unit circle.

Abstract:We study the positive-definiteness of a family of $L^2(\mathbf{R})$ integral operators with kernel $K_{t, a}(x, y) = (1 + (x - y)^2 + a(x^2 + y^2)^t)^{-1}$, with $t > 0$ and $a > 0$. When $0 < t \le 1$, the known theory of positive-definite kernels ensures that the operator is positive-definite; when $t > 1$, constructions disprove positive-definiteness for many $(t, a)$-pairs.

Abstract:Let L = -Delta + V be a Schrodinger operator in R(d) and H(L)(1)(R(d)) be the Hardy type space associated to L. We investigate the bilinear operators T(+) and T(-) defined byT(+/-)(f, g)(x) = (T(1)f)(x)(T(2)g)(x) +/- (T(2)f)(x)(T(1)g)(x),where T(1) and T(2) are Calderon-Zygmund operators related to L. Under some general conditions, we prove that either T(+) or T(-) is bounded from L(p)(R(d)) x L(q) (R(d)) to H(L)(1)(R(d)) for 1 < p, q < infinity with 1/p + 1/q = 1. Several examples satisfying these conditions are given. We also give a counterexample for which the classical Hardy space estimate fails.

Abstract:We prove a Fatou-type theorem and its converse for certain positive eigenfunctions of the Laplace–Beltrami operator on a Harmonic NA group. We show that a positive eigenfunction u of with eigenvalue , where , has admissible limit in the sense of Korányi, precisely at those boundary points where the strong derivative of the boundary measure of u exists. Moreover, the admissible limit and the strong derivative are the same. This extends a result of Ramey and Ullrich regarding nontangential convergence of positive harmonic functions on the Euclidean upper half space.

Abstract:In this paper, we shall consider a new constant which is the Dunkl–Williams constant related to Birkhoff orthogonality, and a constant that is a generalization of . Interestingly, the upper bounds of and the Dunkl–Williams constant are different. The connections between these two constants and other well-known constants are exhibited. Some characterizations of Hilbert space and uniformly non-square Banach space in terms of these two constants are established.
