Abstract:A construction of product measures is given for an arbitrary sequence of measure spaces via outer measure techniques without imposing any condition on the underlying measure spaces. This approach concludes finally the problem of the existence of product measures in an elementary manner. Moreover, the $L_{p}$ spaces of this measures are simplified in terms of finite product measures following the approach of [21]. This decomposition simplifies infinite dimensional integration and gives to this theory a computational framework.

Abstract:A new construction of product measures is given for an arbitrary sequence of measure spaces via outer measure techniques giving a coherent extension of the classical theory of finite product measures to countable many. Moreover, the Lebesgue spaces of this measures are simplified in terms of finite product measures. This decomposition simplifies all the considerations regarding infinite dimensional integration and gives to it a computational framework.

The first task is to show the existence of a family of measures on the second space, indexed by the points on of the first space (outside a negligible set), such that integrating the measures on the index against the first marginal gives back the original measure (see Theorem 2.1). At the end, I give a simple application in Optimal Transport.

Abstract:The art of analysis involves the subtle combination of approximation, inequalities, and geometric intuition as well as being able to work at different scales. With this subtlety in mind, we present this paper in a manner designed for wide accessibility for both advanced undergraduate students and graduate students. The main results include a singular integral for measuring the level sets of a $C^{1,1}$ function mapping from $\mathbb{R}^n$ to $\mathbb{R}$, that is, one whose derivative is Lipschitz continuous. We extend this to measure embedded submanifolds in $\mathbb{R}^2$ that are merely $C^1$ using the distance function and provide an example showing that the measure does not hold for general rectifiable boundaries.

Abstract:In this paper, we study, in a separable metric space, a class of Hausdorff measures $\mathcal{H}_\mu^{q, \xi}$ defined using a measure $\mu$ and a premeasure $\xi$. We discuss a Hausdorff structure of product sets. Weighted Hausdorff measures $\mathcal{W}_\mu^{q, \xi}$ appeared as an important tool when studying the product sets. When $\mu$ and $\xi$ are blanketed, we prove that $\mathcal{H}_\mu^{q, \xi} = \mathcal{W}_\mu^{q, \xi}$. As an application, the case when $\xi$ is defined as the Hausdorff function is considered.

Abstract:The existence of kinematic formulas for area measures with respect to any connected, closed subgroup of the orthogonal group acting transitively on the unit sphere is established. In particular, the kinematic operator for area measures is shown to have the structure of a co-product. In the case of the unitary group the algebra associated to this co-product is described explicitly in terms of generators and relations. As a consequence, a simple algorithm that yields explicit kinematic formulas for unitary area measures is obtained.

Abstract:In the present paper, we obtain an explicit product formula for products of multiple integrals w.r.t. a random measure associated with a Lévy process. As a building block, we use a representation formula for products of martingales from a compensated-covariation stable family. This enables us to consider Lévy processes with both jump and Gaussian part. It is well known that for multiple integrals w.r.t. the Brownian motion such product formulas exist without further integrability conditions on the kernels. However, if a jump part is present, this is, in general, false. Therefore, we provide here sufficient conditions on the kernels which allow us to establish product formulas. As an application, we obtain explicit expressions for the expectation of products of iterated integrals, as well as for the moments and the cumulants for stochastic integrals w.r.t. the random measure. Based on these expressions, we show a central limit theorem for the long time behaviour of a class of stochastic integrals. Finally, we provide methods to calculate the number of summands in the product formula.

E.g. we can calculate the geometric mean of any set with positive Lebesgue measure. Abstract:In this paper, we study ergodic properties of hyperbolic measures with local product structure. We show that all the classical results that hold in the case of SRB measure hold for these measures. In particular, we show the decomposition in countably many ergodic components, we prove the decomposition into K-components, and show that for hyperbolic measure with local product structure, The K property implies the Bernoulli property. We also give some examples of measures where the results are applicable.

Abstract:We are given a bounded Borel-measurable real-valued function on a product of countably many Polish spaces, and a product probability measure. We are interested in points in the product space that can be used to approximate the expected value of this function. We define two notions. A point is called a weak $\epsilon$-approximation, where $\epsilon \geq 0$, if the Dirac measure on this point, except in finitely many coordinates where another measure can be taken, gives an expected value that is $\epsilon$-close to the original expected value. A point is called a strong $\epsilon$-approximation if the same holds under the restriction that in those finitely many coordinates the measure is equal to the original one. We prove that both the set of weak 0-approximation points and the set of strong $\epsilon$-approximation points, for any $\epsilon>0$, have measure 1 under the original measure. Finally, we provide two applications: (i) in Game Theory on the minmax guarantee levels of the players in games with infinitely many players, and (ii) in Decision Theory on the set of feasible expected payoffs in infinite duration problems.

Abstract:We study two modifications of the trapezoidal product cubature formulae, approximating double integrals over the square domain $[a,b]^2=[a,b]\times [a,b]$. Our modified cubature formulae use mixed type data: except evaluations of the integrand on the points forming a uniform grid on $[a,b]^2$, they involve two or four univariate integrals. An useful property of these cubature formulae is that they are definite of order $(2,2)$, that is, they provide one-sided approximation to the double integral for real-valued integrands from the class $$ \mathcal{C}^{2,2}[a,b]=\{f(x,y)\,:\,\frac{\partial^4 f}{\partial x^2\partial y^2}\ \text{continuous and does not change sign in}\ (a,b)^2\}. $$ For integrands from $\mathcal{C}^{2,2}[a,b]$ we prove monotonicity of the remainders and derive a-posteriori error estimates.

A Direct Approach to Practical Stability of Nonlinear Systems on Product Spaces

Abstract:This paper deals with the problem of practical stability of nonlinear on product spaces. Based on differeritial principle and the basic monotonicity condition, a vector direct method is proposed in terms of vector auxiliary functions and proper class of monotonic functions. This method reduces the problem to verifying a set of differential or integral (specially, algebric) inequalities directly according to equations of the system under consideration, without requiring knowledge of solutions of any so-called comparison systems as that in many previous works. An illustrative example is worked out to demonstrate the availability of the presently proposed method.
